What "IF" each survivor had a unique trait?

For example:

Claudette:

Excels at healing.

Meg:

Excels at recovering from exhaustion.

Bill:

Excels at smoking

Wouldn't that just make one Survivor better than all the rest? So for example, if Claudette with her already passive ability (Not intentional) to be hidden, and this increases that with her brown clothes add-ons that a lot of Claudette mains love to abuse...

Than you add healing bonus on-top of that? Yuck... BHVR has stated before that all Survivors want an equal experience, and not one should be above the rest. It's a different case with Killers because their powers naturally make one better than the others.

I like the one for Bill.

But on a serious note, I personally wouldn't like this: I already P3'd two survivors, they're who I want to keep using. If they turned out to have crap unique traits and someone else I didn't want to play as had one I'd find more useful, I'd be sorely upset/disappointed/bitter.

Edited to add: There are so many perks, you can totally customize your build to be a healer or a stealth ninja or a sabo-wiggler or whatever. And even though the killer sees your character in the lobby, they have no idea what build you're bringing to the match (unless you go with the meta, which they totally expect). Already they have some expectations, like Jakes coming in to sabo hooks. I don't really see the appeal of telegraphing your playstyle to the killer with survivors that have specific abilities.

  • Could be solved by only allowing one player to be one character. Though that would require a whole rehaul of the BP system.

I think for the sake of people who had to endure the game without these crutches... I don't think it would be considered...

I would like for each survivor to have a small, very small, boost in a certain area, idk how but it does suck they are just skins

You would see only Claudettes or only megs. Boring af. I don't want to be missing and advantage just because I like to play Dwight or whoever. It will also hurt bhvr in terms of cosmetics

I pumped millions of bloodpoints into David to have him p3 50 with every perk.

Are you gonna refund all of that when he gets some ######### self-sacrificing passive, because I now have to do all that work over on a good survivor? No, probably not.

That's why I don't want this to happen.

There are plenty of games in which the characters have unique abilities, and it doesn't necessarily mean that everyone just plays the same ones, nor does it impact negatively on cosmetic sales. I think as long as it's balanced properly, it would be fun and add a bit more variety to the game.

That's actually pretty cool. It gives the character something unique and it doesn't just happen, they have to work for it.

    I don’t like it.

I think of Deathgarden, which does this. The character I like to play has the most boring visual design to me, and the character who’s design I like has the most useless passive imaginable.

And in death garden there are no teachable perks, the perks powers and passives are all locked to your character, so I’m forced to pretend I’m not irked looking at the character I’m playing
