How to nerf Prayer Beads Bracelet?
Make it an Ultra Rare addon
- This is the easiest nerf I can think of, swap the rarity of Father's Glasses.
Give it a downside
- It could go like this:
- Removes the whoosh sound while phasing, decreases the movement speed by 30%. OR
- Removes the whoosh sound while phasing, decreases the duration by 40%. (3 seconds of phasing)
Change it back to the PTB version
- In the PTB it was like this:
- Moderately decreases the range of the sound emission radius while using Yamaoka's Haunting.
- But it was bugged or something so they removed that sound completely.
This is all nerfs I can think of right now. Tell me what do you think.

It probably needs a total rework, getting grabbed off a gen without any chance of counterplay is just too much. Maybe have the phase sound be map wide, I think I read that idea somewhere. So survivors alway know when Spirit is phasing but they do not know if she's close to you or not.
Simply increasing the rarity in particular wouldn't help, making it ultra rare won't make it any less op.

Releasing gen every few seconds until/if you know its spirit with beads.

Having a perk isn't counterplay, killers should have counterplay even without perks...

Her addon is the issue in question. I see no issue using addons items and perks to counter other unknowable variables that are revealed in match. The power is the only constant.
If spirit beads THEMSELVES are your issue, and not spirit, run spine chill.

You shouldn't have to run a specific perk to have counterplay against one addon.

You shouldnt have to rant weekly about one addon, when you have options to combat that specific issue, just as camping, tunneling, keys being used, etc.
Everything has a counter. And it's up to you to use what assists the points of your game that you lack.

Yeah, just stop working on the gens every few seconds so you fail a random skill check and notify the silent killer. Great counter.

I like the downside option. My suggestion: They hear a phasing sound INSIDE the terror radius.

It dodnt decrease the range it made the the woosh quieter..... it was useless.... if it was a decrease in range then it should be significantly decreased to....
Also 5 seconds of like 130% ms is nothing....
Same goes for 3 seconds of 170%
The best thing that prayer beads does for spirit is it allows gen grabs.... which she needs either more duration or MDR in order to get any..... even with her power she still is forced to walk around at 110% ms a decent portion of the match, so she still lacks in map traversing and is forced to make up for that in chases which depends on player skill

Technically yes.
Spine Chill is a good perk in general and is particularly good against Nurse/Spirit. So I'd absolutely bring it every game, the fact that it also counters Prayer Beads is a cherry on top.

Yes,I agree that it is a good perk. But it is not fair for survivors to have absolutely no counterplay for one addon unless they have a perk. You can literally catch survivors without chasing them super easily with one addon. It is just bad game design.

Ruin is useful against every survivor, prayer beads is just one killer with a specific addon. They aren't the same thing.

I'm not saying this should or should not be nerfed, but if it should, I don't think just switching rarity is good enough. If it is fine to be left as-is, I think the rarity switch would be fine.

Ruin is not required. But Killers used it for so long that they dont even try the better options available (Corrupt Intervention and PGTW).
@Topic:
Not happy about the Downsides, they sound too strong. Making it a Pink Add-On - yes, but it would not change anything of the problem.
If Collision would be removed, Gengrabs would be way harder to do. This might be an option.
Another thing I have read on the Forums: Prayer Beads makes the Phasing Sound affect the whole Map. So no Survivor will know where she is.

High rank Survivors should start using builds that are focused on countering Nurse and Spirit, any other killer can get stomped with no perks anyway.

How does that counter prayer beads exactly? Technician is one of the most trash perks in the game. Even if it did counter prayer beads, you are just proving my point. You shouldn't have to run a specific perk to have a chance against one addon.

Corrupt Intervention isn't a better option most of the time. The Killers that DO make good use of it are trap based Killers, Stealth Killers, Doctor, and anyone running an early game tracking perk like Whispers or Spies From the Shadows.
PGTW is meta but serves a slightly different function. Specifically PGTW is mid-late game stalling while Ruin is early game stalling.

Ruin is required. Whether you substitute Ruin with another delay the result is the same, a perk devoted to counter an effect.
Prayer beads are fine. There are no counters to an insta heal or a brand new part and so you have no argument of merit.

Gen Times are fine, you have no entitlement to an easier game.
And nah, Ruin isnt required. Still some people use Ruin and PGTW. And it is quite clear which one is better - the one which rewards for Hooks (=won chases) or the one with RNG.

Nah it's staying as is. After you notice the killer is using prayer beads, you just need to be more aware of your surroundings/killer location.
Making it an ultra rare would be fine though. Father's glasses is crap.

My version would be:
Prayber Beads Bracelet: (Ultra Rare)
- Removes phasing sound emission while using Yamaoka's Haunt
- Moderately increases cooldown of Yamaoka's Haunt (25 seconds instead of 15 seconds)
- Moderately increases Yamaoka's Haunt activation charge time (2.5 seconds instead of 1.5 seconds)

I think it just needs to have its rarity swapped with father's glasses, but another thing that you can do is:
- Reduces sound effect by 30%
- The woosh sound isn't directional (like lullabies)
