The Illusionist

New killer that messes with survivor perception.

  • Spawn a "dying survivor" that is perceived exactly like a real dying survivor. One of the other survivors in your HUD will transition to the injured and then the dying state over 5 seconds. If you "heal" the dying survivor, you get injured one state. The false survivor will vanish, returning the HUD to normal and send a visual notification to the killer.
  • This survivor can be hooked by the killer for no points. If saved from hook, same effect: the savior is injured one state and the false survivor vanishes with an evil laugh.
  • Additionally, while this false survivor is spawned, the HUD indicator for the hijacked survivor will not change to its real status until it vanishes. (This means that this survivor could actually be downed, but then there are 2 "dying survivors" on the ground, leaving you to wonder which on is the real one.)
  • This killer can change their "guise" to appear as another killer until you fall for one of their illusions.

Other illusions could include:

  • Tag a finished generator to make it look half finished. Survivors can interact with it and will believe they are making normal progress until the false gen is "finished". The map and other aura reading perks cannot be fooled under most circumstances. (powerful add-ons can mess with aura reading)
  • Make a false totem "spawn". Cleansing it hurts the survivor in some way.
  • Make a lit totem seem dull and vise versa: interacting with this totem could cause a status effect upon complete interaction
  • Tag a pallet and make it invisible and uninteractable for a short time. Aura reading can still see it. And if you can still see it, you can still interact with it.

    Love this idea. We need something to mess with Survivor intel, but then this would encourage SWF, and give less info to the Solo Survivor.

    cool basic idea.
    i think the hooked illusion would be op.
    maybe this killer could ######### with different objects as one power. so changing totems looks, gens etc. but instead of waiting til it is finished (which would take a huge amount of time), the illusion would break as soon as the interaction starts, giving notification to the killer.
    maybe also kicked gens look like they are not kicked etc.
    so many options :D
