A New Approach to D/C (Disconnecting) New Pre Lobby State Called "Worthy of the Entity".
Currently the community believes there is no better solution to players abusing disconnection to get around bad starts to a match or killers they dont want to fight, etc. I agree with this, for example if we implemented temporary bans for any dc's, we would get someone circumnavigating the rule by getting hooked and dying instead, just a minor inconvenience, and then people with internet problems are punished.
But what if instead of focusing on punishing the DC'er, we focused on ways to reward the loyal player? That's what this post intends to do with a new pre lobby state called "Worthy of the Entity:" or Wote, for short.
Base rules are simple, in order for Wote to take affect, your previous lobbies ( shown in a pre lobby progress menu) must have 70% state of participation. this means if you have failed participation more then 3 times in the last 10 games you played, you will be disqualified.
To achieve a state of participation, you must reach the following criteria during a match.
You must reach a certain amount of score. This is represented in a new background image behind all score pop ups that shows progress towards this completion.
You must participate for a certain amount of time. This is represented in a new score pop up image that rewards 250 bp for every quarterly interval.
Apon completion of one of these criteria during a match, the first completed awards 1kbp, and the second completion awards 2kbp, and pops up with "Worth of the Entity" thus achieving a state of participation for that match. If a player should wish to dc or kill themselves at that point, they have already provided enough effort that the team should be able to continue onward.
Benefits of achieving "Worthy of the Entity" now active in pre game lobbies.
(SWF groups could potentially farm some features and are therefor disqualified for some )
Another way to earn iridescent shards every day you are proven Wote, earn 75 shards.
Perhaps a way to finally earn auric cells, every day you are proven Wote earn 10-25 auric cells
Garuntee that if someone not in your SWF group dc's before achieving participation, that you are given a safety pip for ranking, Given 100%bp per non SWF dc and all items and offerings are retained even after being used during the match.
Exclusive perks from a selection only available to players that have proven WOTE
(optional) Temporary 5th perk slot active for only a few minutes to start each match a player is WOTE
Temporary cosmetics that prove a players likeliness to participate that also look amazing and are exclusive to WOTE
The entire purpose of this is to help address the serious issues that D/Cing causes by incentiveising players on both sides of the spectrum to continue the match. I really hope someone from Behaviour interactive sees this and that others comment there suggestion and Ideas so that I may add it here for them aswell.

Gonna say this there's a few things stated here that seem unfair like a 5th perk slot or special perk is a little too op. Also holding things back from swf or penalizing it is also not right. Most importantly is how difficult temporary cosmetics would be to add into the game. Disconnecting needs to be fixed but not in a creative way like this. They have also stated once they get dedicated servers up and running they will try to crack down on disconnects. It sucks but there's not a lot you can really do about it as of current.

temporary 5th perk could be considered op, but It could also be from a list of hand selected perks that arent game changing, but definately worth while, like a permanant 25% stack too all bp for example. It has to be something worth while, and I agree, something not broken, this can easily be tweaked.
Holding back from SWF is completely fair, you allready know those people and if you are lobbying with them thats your own risk. If you dont set up those paramaters, its too easy to farm the bonuses to people who might otherwise need an incentive to keep playing a match where a team mate left in the first 10 seconds
disconnecting has allways needed to be fixed no one is disputing that, however a creative solution like this is exactly what the game needs as it has been in dispute since the game has launched and has gotten no where otherwise.
cracking down on dc means automating rules, which means that innocence will inevitably be wronged. Would require heavy tweaking and planning.
Cosmetics would be extremely simple and effective. By just having the cosmetic, people will want to play with you more then others, lobbies can be formed in trust just by seeing this, and its as easy as just adding universal cosemetics such as a golden sunglasses, lobby icons, changed lobby name colors, a golden tally when readying up, the list goes on.

you don't agree with my points even though some are actual facts. they have stated they are going to increase counter measures to disconnecting once dedicated servers are here. Also the whole punishing survive with friends thing is far from reasonable. It's basically penalizing you for playing with friends. I'm not saying that cosmetics are hard i'm saying temporary ones would be difficult for developers to implement. Not saying having a creative solution is wrong it's just an idea that would require a pretty big rework to things.

Its not a punishment to SWF
for example, if your in a 3 man SWF if the random disconnected then everyone still qualifies for the benefits.
if its a 4 man team you are very unlikely to disconnect and most friends will all back out or be less angry as they are in communication with the person who dced they know his power went out, or that he rages all the time.
I for one would rather a rework then having people banned. this game allready has player base issues and allthough people may dc the fact that they still play matches makes a huge difference. Its all risky at that point

Or just a standard low priority queue like most other games. You DC a lot and you get lumped with the other people who DC a lot.
Enjoy trying to win a match when every time it looks like you will the other side quite.

I thought about this and im sure the devs have too, but unfortunately it would also put us at risk of someone suddenly having internet issues and being lumped into what is commonly refered to as elo hell would not be an enjoyable experience. Still it IS a possibility.

Any one want to share thoughts on what they think a good incentive for match participation might be? These are just a few Ideas I came up with Im sure theres plenty of better ones to be thought up.

Added another possible reward as an incentive, daily iridescent chards or even finally a way to earn auric cells.

With the newly announced challenge system ( Archives and premium rifts) this could present more challenges for the devs to implement, like maintain WOTE for 10 games, etc
