Leatherface's acceleration is just simply useless
I was playing as a survivor yesterday and I was against LF. He was chasing a team mate and he got very close to her, revved the saw aaaaaaaaaannnd, missed, he didn't go fast enough to catch her. Let me re-state he was RIGHT on her ass.
So what was the cause of this? Well there are two things really:
- When he revvs the saw he goes slower, thus losing ground on the survivor
- His acceleration BARELY gives him any speed increase
Mix both of these together and what do you get?
An awful killer.
So after this was all over I checked his add-ons and to my dismay I then discover he was using Award Winning Chilli. You know, that REALLY useful add-on for LF.
Leatherface is a damned joke right now in every aspect. His acceleration sucks, he is clunky and slow during his chainsaw attacks, he has NO map pressure whatsoever and he has become almost comedic in that if a killer is camping, people usually just say "It's probably Leatherface"
He needs MAJOR buffs ASAP, especially since they are changing tinkerer because this hurts LF even more.
The buffs to help him would simply be that he moves at normal speed while revving the saw ( A popular idea among LF players ) and also make his acceleration MUCH better, because right now as I say, his acceleration is not bad, not mediocre, it is USELESS

I love it when people catch on to how useless the Chili addons are. I've run tests and they do NOTHING at all.
Beast's Marks and Knife Scratches are what make you move faster while swinging. Acceleration does nothing.
Good posts. I really want some Bubba buffs, cause he is so damn bad.

I completely agree with you, the problem with the Beast's marks and knife scratches though is that they make you chainsaw take longer to charge so there is still a downside that hurts LF which sucks.1 -
@Doom_Punk Even they suck imo. Movement speed is barely noticeable, and longer rev time means you have more ground to cover from slowly revving anyway
Plus rev time is probably his most important stat, much more so than Billy.
I really hope for Leatherface to get something in the future.

I completely agree with you, the problem with the Beast's marks and knife scratches though is that they make you chainsaw take longer to charge so there is still a downside that hurts LF which sucks.I like the direction they're going with Trapper and Hag addons not having downsides, and I don't see why any Killer addons should have downsides unless they truly are powerful as hell. I don't think moving a bit faster would break him cause you'd still kill an addon slot (or two) to move faster, not to charge faster.
Some YouTubers I believe still think Chili does something which gave me the idea to test it, and there was no difference in how much distance I traveled nor how fast I walked holding it.
It's such a shame with how fun he is to play that he's incredibly weak and usually has to camp to get something done.

They do, yeah, though I still like to run them regardless when I'm low on Bulbs or Guides, as long as I have a Bulb/Guide to counteract the slow charge.

Again, I cannot agree more with you. Leatherface has NO add-ons that are the be all end all of power, thus I don't think his add-ons should have the downsides that they do.
