the future of this game is at risk if maps keep being made with only unsafe pallets.

Dude, thats basically the core mechanic of the game lmao

One day we have no safe pallets or bloodlust.
But that wont happen before 2025 due how slow old maps are getting reworked.
1 -
Sorry, but the very concept of safe spaces in such a game is quite... Weird.
Survivors are only crying about "unsafe" pallets because the devs made the mistake to introduce "safe" pallets into the game.
3 -
Hawkins has some amazing loops that do not require pallets to be effective. Spend some more time learning the map and you will see how powerful "safe" pallets would make this map.

Did you read my post at all.
Looping and wasting The killer's time is a fine process however there is a major difference between doing it skillfully and just running a super safe loop.
If you managed to waste my time I rather it be because you juked me and mind gamed me rather you running me through several super safe loops.
Once again if you're forcing the killer to have to to use bloodlust tier 3 who hit you at a mind gameable loop you are wasting their time

TLDR: Balanced maps are hard to Abuse with Survivors anymore please nerf these.
Balanced maps means that other killers can and will become viable. Hawkins is actually simple to understand the safer more secure loops are inside the map not on the outer areas. Risk = Reward now. The loops are different as well so you can't create inf loops either.
By making all maps balanced what they can do is start to give killers the nerfs needed and buffs needed for QoL changes and remove bloodlust in the future.

Skillless huh? I mean i prefer unsafe pallets as survivor and killer, because it's not as boring as running around some tiles forever, because it's no mindgame.
2 -
I'd be on board with this.
1 -
Really though, when there are guides for how to run a jungle gym effectively as both sides, it kinda makes the maps feel less unique and just set pieces for these preset locations.
2 -
Very true and the lack of balance in this game is just starting to drag it down, will dbd become another deathgarden? time will tell but not unimaginable with this kind of balancing going on.

I think this is a complete overreaction.

Yes when the person asks for something like this.
I will not provide help for people who act like a dramaqueen because of missing knowledge or because they are too lazy to even ask for help instead make a thread "the future of this game is at stake" lmao.

Funny thing that happened today to me, I was playing Killer the whole day asking and begging to try out the new Hawkins map because I have yet to play Killer in that map yet.
I heard it's a fun map for killers, but not so much for Survivors. But I never got it.
The moment I got it however was when I got tired of playing Killer and played Survivor instead. Literally the first map I got for that map was when I wanted to relax a bit.
Although, that map is not as hard as most people say it is. Sure it can get confusing, but when you realize that the map has a more unique layout compared to other maps, it makes running through it and losing the killer easier. Heck, there are times the killer chased after someone else because I managed to lose him inside one of the rooms.
Hawkins is probably one of my favourite maps as Survivor just from that one experience alone.

I'm not even that great a looping full stop but i've had a decent amount of success of looping and disappearing rather then just running from loop point to loop point.

This is actually a different skill it's called Juking. It's a lot harder to do than looping but it will win you the chase if you manage to do it.
2 -
Doing the gens counters every killer, stop whining.
They either extend gen times or they fix looping, pick one.

Even as a survivor main I can't agree with this. Too many safe pallets means the killer has virtually no chance of catching anyone at high ranks.
Even as a survivor having too many safe pallets is a bad thing at times, let me explain. If the devs add more safe pallets, they'll lower the amount of pallets on the map in general. If you have bad survivors who just waste pallets over nothing this can be a really bad thing during late game.
Also doctors and clowns? When does anyone play them. I never see them unless its rank reset
1 -
its a 4v1 game not 1v1 if u are able to 1v1 killer than its not balanced
2 -
Keep it quiet child, because BS loops like the Ironworks one still exist. I too have to resist the urge not to uninstall dbd every time I see a no skill no mindgame loop like that, yet they're still in the game after 3+ years.
1 -
id like to actually be chased for more than 15 seconds where the gameplay isnt me hopping back and forth on 1 pallet because someone wont break a pallet.
0 -
that isnt map balancing any killer at rank 20 can hit u on those braindead layouts
0 -
do u preffer hopping back and forth on pallets because someone wont break it? like ######### lmao

Sadly the majority of the replies are killer mains that only want safe unpallets LOL. But on a serious note, I wouldn't mind only unsafe pallets if they at least nerfed bloodlust alittle to compensate. Killer will always win pallet mindgame interactions when they reach bloodlust 2.
1 -
I can say the same thing, that any rank 20 survivors can loop you at all the safe pallets which are in literally all maps.
3 -
Look, cool statement but your opinion and what you think will not change the outcome of the player base average and the health of this game.
0 -
If you dropped it early cuz u scared then that happens yes. Usually nlt happens to me as survivor.
0 -
So... you want every map as Haddonfield, right? Interesting
2 -
Game is finally reaching some semblence of balance and people want to drag us back to the dark times. Can't say I'm surprised.
4 -
im fine with haddonfield being changed the maps boring to me
0 -
show me gameplay
0 -
wrong because they waste the pallets
0 -
if youre commiting to that loop as a killer youre bad
0 -
I have no problem with them having more unsafe pallets to curb ring around the rosie gameplay but they need to buff stealth in some way if this is the direction the game’s going.
0 -
Yeah, after they loop the killer for at least 3 gens.
0 -
i think that implementing new loops or new way to loop would be much funnier cuz of variety and the fact that it would be a new thing
0 -
How m8. Just stun the killer with the pallet and run to the next one. I don't think i need to explain basic looping to you.
0 -
And having an abundance of safe pallets isn't healthy either. But I don't see survivor mains complaining about that issue.

Source?

I know i've seen it somewhere. Might take some time to find it.

Do you think anyone truly cares? Nobody cares when you call someone a bad player for abusing OP loops, they'll still loop it.
0 -
Tbh Hawkins isn't exactly filled with bad pallets. Sure it probably has more bad pallets than good ones, but you can still make out decent loops here and there.
I run balanced landing for Hawkins whenever one of my friends feel like going there. Even if you can't tell when you're getting the map, the perk is still quite excellent for making loops where you normally can't without it.
0 -
And you make a good point here, "I run balanced landing for Hawkins whenever one of my friends feel like going there."
I think players, especially survivors, don't realize how much those 'You pick the maps' offerings can give them game winning strategies. If you know the map you're going to, you can pick perks that are beneficial to that.
Also, these 'unsafe pallet maps' are helping bring other perks to the light. You can't just run a killer forever, you _need to figure out a way to actually lose them_, so its helping balance the stealth with the chase.

The problem is that many of the pallets on Hawkins map can not really be mindgamed by a survivor. The only chance they have is to stun a killer with one of those pallets, and the chances are always much higher that a killer will avoid the stun than the chances that the survivor will actually get the stun against the killer.
Of course the original maps aren't much better, being the other way around, with many pallets being unmindgameable for the killer. What this game needs is maps with much more pallets that can be mindgamed by both survivor and killer. So both killer and survivor have similar amount of counterplay. T-L walls are a great example of a loop that can be mindgamed by both survivor and killer.
And while Hawkins has a fair amount of those mindgameable pallets as well, the amount of unsafe pallets that are almost a guaranteed hit for killer is too big on Hawkins in my opinion.

I mean, you shouldn't need toolboxes to be able to counter that or? That's more of a problem regarding the stacking potential of action speed debuff effects. Toolboxes shouldn't fix that problem, but rather a cap for how much survivors action speed can be decreased by multiple effects stacking.

Don't stay at a safe pallet then. @Kebek is right, red rank survivors know how too loop these pallets effectively, you simply need too learn it as well. If the whole game was balanced around low skilled players the game would die because good survivors/killers want balance, and if every single pallet is safe then most killers would simply stop playing, myself included. You gotta think about the other side as well.
1 -
So what your sayin is you would like to constantly screw the killer and have more ridiculous pallet spawns. People like you (Survivor mains) are what ruins the game you are all feeling entitled and it gets boring and annoying. Get good and stop relying on constant loops.
1 -
i think YOU as a killer main want braindead loops and chases that end in 15 seconds because u can hold w with bloodlust. YOU get good
