End Game, Solos, & The Hatch

I find it frustrating, as both killer and survivor, when the exit gates are open and survivors are just sitting in the gates until the killer literally forces them to leave. I believe this happens for 3 reasons:

1.) Primarily, I think people want to make sure that everyone is safe and able to exit. I don't have a problem with this, but often times survivors without comms are sitting at the OPPOSITE gate not in danger, just waiting for the same reason.

2.) Someone is off looking the hatch for the extra blood points.

3.) They want to be toxic, and taunt the killer before it chases them out.

It would be a small QoL change I believe can easily improved, and close a bit of the comms gap between SWF and solo queue survivors without effecting the killer by:

1.) Make hatch escapes worth LESS or the SAME as normal gate escapes. This will deincentive players from wasting time looking for the hatch rather than going for the gate.

2.) If a survivor is in one exit gate, and another in the other, they should be able to see their auras. This will help make them both aware they are safe to leave. This provides a little bit of a new advantage to survivors as they will now have slightly more information about the location of exit gates, but they're _supposed to be leaving_ at this point anyway.

3.) Finally, I like that the killer can open the exit gates now to force the end-game-timer. That timer is pretty long though, and if the killer just wants to get it over, there should be one more option to allow the killer at the gate to just boot the survivors and forfeit. This would only be available if no survivors were on the hook.

If I've just suffered a pretty miserable loss, or the game is basically over, I want to be able to get into the next game as fast as possible. I don't need to see survivors out, I don't want to give them the opportunity to tea-bag, etc. Just give them their points, give me mine, and lets move on.

That last one. Sometimes you have games that are just AGAINST YOU. So I support that one for sure.

That last one... isn't that technically here? You know just smacking them.

There is a design to make the end game fun:

    • Start end game timer after all gens are completed, 3 minutes.
    • Create more distance between exit gates, put obstacles near exit gates, so killers can not just tell if a survivor is at an exit gate.
    • Remove the ability of killers, trapping exit gates in any form. (Add the ability for hooks, gens etc. again)
    • Players can be grabbed again while using the hatch, also closing it instantly while grabbing a survivor.
    • Nerf keys, so it takes something more to open the hatch.
    • Hatch escapes don't grant bonus blood points.

That doesn't save time, nor prevent the toxicity. I believe everyone would agree, forcing the killer to go smack you out the gate is being toxic. Its adding insult to injury, and is completely unnecessary.

From where are you getting this?

Having the end game timer start when gens are completely makes complete sense to me.

I'm torn on losing the ability to trap exit gates. Most trapping killers have limited mobility, so this is really their only strategy as the game is ending. Perhaps with the 3 minute timer going on right away it wouldn't be a problem. Survivors couldn't just "wait out the killer" as much as he patrols.

Recently i had a ritual like the doctor so i decided not to kill anyone and just do the ritual but in the end it turns out that three suvs died from the endgame and i did not understand why if i left them at the exit. Then i have these angry suvs leaving hateful comments on my profile saying that they had reported me as a hacker since i had killed them. It is annoying since they had been throwing pallets and jumping through the windows no idea why the hell they would if they knew I did not plan to go for them.

As a survivor, if i open a door, i only stay to see if my partner has already left or died and i don't waste time anymore and i get out since i don't like wasting anyone's time or losing mine.

Some players are very toxic and i think they should put an option to "report for toxic behavior" and thus avoid many problems with these people.

How about, when there is more than one survivors is near an open exit. The endgame timer speeds up.

Like I said, the killer should just be allowed to escape through the gates as well. But if they do they are sacrificed to the Entity. This gives all Survivors 10k BP and the killer loses a pip for displeasing the entity.

"The hatch closes permanently if a gate gets opened"

I like the idea of justing letting the killer escape, though he would need to be allowed to open both gates.

Giving the surveys twice the BP for escaping would do nothing to deincentive bad wasteful behavior and doesn't make sense. They would literally just try to wait out the timer as long as they could in hopes the killer leaves.

Then why would anyone ever, ever do this? I sure as Hades wouldn't.

You would be making it impossible to get a 4k without slugging this way. I like all of your suggestion except what you say about the exit gates.

To Stay in the trial as long as possible gives more survival points I think.

"Hatch escapes don't grant bonus blood points." It should grant bonus blood points only if the survivor jumps in it during a final chase (last survivor alive) ?

And about the hatch, don't forget the killer is always prioritary/more faster to close the hatch in comparaison with the time required to the survivor to jump in it. I mean the killer animation to close the hatch resets the survivor animation to jump in it.

@n000b51 If you're the last survivor alive, and the others all died, I don't think you deserve bonus points. There already is plenty of incentive for hatch camping, and waiting for your last teammate to die on the hook, we don't need more.

I don't believe duration in the trial gives survival points, but I could be wrong. It doesn't make sense to me.

Killers escaping sounds kinda fun lol.

It allows them to leave the match now that it's over. But they shouldn't be punished.

Killers exiting out of the same match as well. Would be interesting. The Exit Gate Zone seams to be almost like the "safe house" from L4D. Where the zombies can hammer at the door and once the survivors lock it. They can poke fun at the killers. SO there always could be some room that they COULD make it so survivors essentially have a risk for remaining in there. Such as exposure status. So insta-downs are the risk of being in that zone. But again... Once that changes. It completely changes the dynamic to the game all together.

Which I most certainly can tell. NOBODY is going to like. SO lets leave it as such.
