Can we fix/stop this from happening with totems?

I mean, I know this was just bad luck, but come on, this shouldn't even be able to happen. This is a screenshot I took as soon as I spawned in as killer.

I once had the exact totem locations. But I don't use Hex perks for this exact reason.
