A Kindred buff

Kindred recently got a range buff, which was nice. But still not enough. If I am gonna spare a valuable slot to it, I should get more use from it.

On the other hand, I have my hesitations about putting kindred into survivor base kit. It seems quite the power over killer.

How about taking double advantage out of it? For example, when you are hooked other survivors see killers and each others aura. Like how it is now. But additionally, when someone else is hooked, you get to see others aura and killers when he/she is near.

I think this way if you do choose to run kindred you get the benefits of aura readings. It seems like a better idea than hoping everyone else runs kindred to get that information for yourself.

The killers are already OP! Why buffing a good survivor perk? And btw I never see survs using it.

Sorry can't follow you. Killers are op? A good survivor perk, but no one uses it? If no one uses it, means it is not a good perk. I've seldom see people using it.

My primary reason not to use it, is not gaining any information myself. Yes people can see each other or a camping killer while you are on hook. But seems a waste of a slot for 2 usage of information that you can't benefit from.

IMO If we want to see different perk builts, we should have more beneficial perks.

I did only a quick search about the subject, so didn't catch yours. I would have join you then. Completely agree here.

There are so many campers, that’s the ONLY perk to fight against. And my opinion is, LEAVE this perk as it is. 😊 it is a Perfect perk against campers.

Also. Some survivors don’t use it, because some can handle campers.

Oh, no you’re good! Mine was a long time ago, I just mentioned it cause I liked seeing the same idea brought up. I really don’t see the downside to buffing a solo only perk like this. As it stands it is totally not worth bringing over perks like DS and BT. I would use it though if it worked both ways.

I've always been of the opinion that Kindred should just be part of the base game for survivors. Unsure if it will affect balancing at all, but it can't be impactful; all but no one uses it. .02

Kindred is not a self serving perk. Never has been, never will be. It is very much in a similar vein to Borrowed Time. The only reason you don't see it used much at higher ranks is not because it's bad, but because there are a lot of SWFs (which makes that perk pointless) or they don't need it to do well (because they have experience).

Of course, I think it's fine because it's a solo survivor perk. I find running it increases our team's chances of survival... but it's personal preferences. It gives enough information to your team for them to inform their decisions and increase team effectiveness.

It's worth pointing out that Kindred isn't solely a selfless perk. The whole point of allowing other survivors to see each other's and the killer's aura when you're hooked is so that they know if you're being camped, and they know whether someone else is going to save you. It's to avoid situations where no one comes to rescue you because everyone assumes that someone else will. It helps the other players, sure, but it helps them to help you.

My suggestion doesn't effect the current version of kindred in any ways. So why leave as it is because it is good? You say it yourself, no one ever uses it. That means it is not as useful as other perks people running.

Yeah Leader is in that category as well. You help people healing you faster. Helping yourself by helping them. I get that. But do you think kindred does it job consistent like Leader. Yes, if I see someone with kindred on, I can determine if someone else going for the unhook or what. But it is useful for me when others run it. And literally every survivor should run it to give you that information.

So I am suggesting instead putting in it into basekit. Like it was discussed so many times. You should give up your one slot to have a powerful information. If not, like how it is now, you got same perks that are used every single game by every single survivors.

When you say useful for you? As another survivor or as killer?

Why would I care if it is useful to killer or not while playing survivor? We are talking about a survivor perk. Of course I am talking about as survivor, usefulness for me.

If that change would be a thing I probably would run it. Because the most thing I dont like about kindred is that it's only when I AM hooked. So I dont have anything from this perk + the lower the rank in the minds the less use i get out of it because even they see each other they just dont care for reasons I dont wanna hear.

So when I could see others aura andthe killers one I would run it. Because I dont had to rely on my teammates running it. And still, even if that would be a future change? It wouldnt be a meta perk like selfcare back in the days. Because there are perks like Bond and as long you are a good player you probably will do well even without kindred. Beside the fact that there are many really impactful perks.

So yea I would like that a lot. It would change my mind from, "Oh Kindred that would be nice, but...eh..." to "Oh Kindred, yea why not it helps quite a bit"

I use every once in a while. It's not really about handling campers or anything for me personally, but so my team doesn't waste time trying to save me if I'm being camped or having all 3 come for the save. I don't think its amazing, but it has its use. Could definitely use some love.

I don't get what you mean... The OP clearly wants to buff this perk.

Kindred is a good perk for selfless people. People who know the power of the perk even if they don't get to use the effects themselves. You don't really see the effects yourself so it might not seem like such a good perk.

Kindred is fine as is. The perk provides a lot of valuable information to your team.
