screw dc timeouts
I love how dc timeouts are supposed to stop people from dc'ing, i really don"t care. Untll i think the game is balanced I'm going to keep doing it no matter what the timeout. When i can get lag switched back behind a pallet i"m not going to give a killer a pip.

Also note, it's mostly survivors. Like I have said before. They can't DC tech or cuck the killer of their sacrifices anymore. So they mad.
Gotta give it to this guy though - at least he's being honest. Unlike so many others who, now that the penalty system is in place, their game all of a sudden crashes 10 times a day. 🤣
EDIT: Also, to the OP - lag switching isn't a thing anymore. The game is on dedicated servers.

Man, only if devs could fix there broken game instead a trolling through there forums acting like they are awesome. When i spawn in and the killer is less than 10 ft away and i get hit immediately, how is that fair eh?

I'm mad when the killer is in range as soon as i load into a game, and immediately get hit, and no my ping wasn't bad like the other guy suggested. And also lag switching still happens servers aint doing anything about it, when you only invest 5 dollars into a server ya might as well not have one at all.

I'd be really careful with the "in 3 days see you thing" that can be considered a threat of violence in the States... Anyway..
Yeah I gotta side with community members here. that this is happening at a rapid rate. I see it more and more where I could activate a stopwatch and time it out within the first 20 seconds of the game starting the match and somehow the killer's heartbeat is heard within the 5 meter radius nearly right away, looking forward and seeing it happen.
The one match I played. I spawned, nearly infront of a killer. thankfully that person was AFK the whole match due to spilling something on their keyboard, (sad for them) but either way it needs to be addressed. Since the penalties are strict like this.
I've also noticed that people still DC and that the que times are even longer. I'd leave it at 3 minutes and look into Debugging before we become serious about penalties like this.
Respectfully this is something that should have been addressed back in March of last year. I dont know if this system is doing some sort of rank Handicap to account for the time it takes the system to do something. But yes, players are rage quitting like this person did due to the fact that
Killers are spawning, literally. Right infront of one another.

You don't spawn in the killers terror radius; and if you immediately get hit, it's because they found you. As for lag switching, no, it doesn't happen. The games take place on centralized dedicated servers. It's literally impossible for a lag switch to have an effect on anyone except for the person using it, and at that point all it would do is time them out. Please inform yourself on how central dedicated servers work.

Their forum is filled with whiny killer mains. Everything they have done this year aside from the Ruin change was done to please them. What do you expect?
Although that’s not said in defence of this. If you’re going to quit a game after being hit by lag you might as well quit every game because there will always be matches in any online game where the connection isn’t as smooth as it should be.
That said there are some server related issues that should have been addressed first i.e servers literally kicking people from the game giving them a disconnect penalty.
I wouldn’t worry though. When it hurts their bottom line I’m sure they’ll be backpeddling on this pretty hard.

Im sorry, where you the worthless bill in my last game? Cause apparently you don't understand that it does happen even though it doesn't happen to you. And good for you, at least you dont feel like behavior came and cleaned out your wallet. And apparently there is still lag switching going on cause when i have a dedicated line to my computer i don't ever suffer from lag on any other game. True lag happens all through out a match, not when you are just being chased.

I've watched it happen quite often in the last 1,300 hours of played in this game.
yes I am VERY familiar with servers and how they work. I hosted Valve content on an IBM Blade center with Infiniband systems, and a load balanced HA cluster that took care of DOS mitigation from dedicated appliances. That system alone cost around 2k per month if it was running at "full burn".
Part of costs was mitigating CHEATERS and logging data on 14 seperate SCSI ultra 320 drives spanned in a RAID container on those old Dell PERC 3 controllers. I'd have to pull logs and change drives as needed. You know those drives that make the high pitch, "shrill" sound because they are spinnning at 10,000 and 15,000 RPM. yes those. I'd have to route my logs over to a PLASMON UDO/MO library and anything else through EMC if it was still in high-demand data usage.
Anything and everything was always something being perfected to deliver a better experience for players. But like all of us. When the housing crash happened and the economy tanked. We headed off for the better jobs that were still going.

nobody here is attacking anyone. People want fixes to have fair gaming experience. I rightly have to say that moobs does have a point here. Whether people like it or not. No company is infallible and everyone would like "fair" fights.
A person cannot deny that.
It would just be like if you wanted to play a game of IRL capture the flag and the Coach decided to put the opposing team facing backwards and right next to the enemy team. It wouldn't be fun.,

You really must not know much on how people cheat and modify latency in the game. If I was to discuss how this is done with "network tools" and "network modification tools" id probably be in trouble. Moobs isn't crazy here. People do this quite often and yes, the staff have even addressed this in discussions that there ARE people whom are doing this. The fact of the matter is. It isn't more publicly addressed because the company doesn't want to give players the idea.
But in short-terms. Yes players are using teleportation cheats with any sort of way they can. To ruin the experience for others.

I didn't say nobody cheats. Nice strawman. I said it's *literally impossible* to lag switch in the way you described, because it's not hosted on a P2P matchmaking system anymore.

Teleportation and speed hacks is one thing. Those aren't lag switches. Lag switches *do not* work like he described in a centralized server. A lag switch will NOT work on anyone except the player using it. Speaking of not knowing... :)

My flawed logic - that someone elses lag switch is not going to teleport you in a centralized dedicated server (aka - an actual fact). Your flawed logic - yes it does, nuh uh ur wrong.

People call a generic term of location cheating "lag switching" just like people call tissue paper "kleenex". Nobody just flat-out calls it what it actually is.
I mean we can get all technical with terms like UDP modification, ARP poisoning, packet crafting and get down to the nitty gritty of how it is done. But the fact that there are programs that automate the whole process into neat little programs THAT OTHERS CAN DOWNLOAD is another STORY FOR another day.

I really want to drop back down to the argument here of; killers just flat-out spawning in on players and you should consider what I wrote with the whole "capture the flag story" i wrote above. Again nobody likes that and the problem should be addressed. If someone decides to abandon a match because he or she feels that it is unfair. I guess I just dont blame them at this point.
Sure, it is bad that others have to pay for it. We all do and in the realworld this happens all of the time. I personally consider this a "party game" and not a competitive mode. These penalties seem to harsh for a game that doesn't involve a competitive environment and how much there hasn't been solved. Im sure you have noticed that the Q times are going up considerably.
The game is a start-up venture and has a ton of potential. What lead up to many of these dc's has been killer spawns, unfair hits and the fact that the game literally has many other mechanics the developers have to explore.
Players feel as though the basic issues haven't been fixed when there seams to be more cosmetics going out. yes, we want a game company to make money and be able to SELL items so they can pay for the improvements too. That is a fair balance.
But this game feels as though problems that were fixed, became BROKEN in this game's "junior year" compared to its sophomore year of development.
I will end it with this. If you are sitting there telling people that they are intellectually inferior to you and your opinion. That is no way to gain an argument's win. Listening to other people's ideas are. With that I hope you have a great and "magical day" or whatever it is you appreciate in life most.

Killers can still lag and teleport/get hits when you are miles away from them, intentional or not. I have many clips of it happening to me and swfs.

THAT is possible, yes. But what the OP described is not. The OP claims that a killers lag switch caused HIM, as a SURVIVOR, to teleport to the other side of a pallet.
That's impossible with dedicated servers. Another persons lag switch has zero effect on the connection of another player. Only their own.
I said nothing about anyone being inferior to me. I said I was right, which I am. A lag switch, as the OP described it, is not going to do what he said it did in a dedicated server environment. I don't care what blanket statements are used, or what he really meant. What he said is what he said. You're just making excuses for him.

It doesn't happen and it didn't happen to you. On dedicated servers, no lag switch, unless it was your own, caused you to teleport anywhere. It could have been a server connection issue or any number of things, but it was not someone else's lag switch. Period.
It's not me who needs to go back to class.

This is actually untrue, there are still plenty of instances and clips already on the internet of killers again causing lag, getting hits or even teleporting/picking up survivors back to previous positions they were at during a chase. This still happens, maybe less than when we had P2P, but it still exists. I know from personal experience.

That is SERVER desync. That happens. It's an unfortunate byproduct. It was NOT a lag switch. That is the point I'm making here. A lag switch temporarily causes a disconnect between you and what you're connected to. Not you and everyone else in a dedicated server. The player is connected to a dedicated server. Not other players.

Ok, this is the last message I will send you, because I feel like you are A. Trolling B. maybe not comprehending.
How this game handles killer/survivor interactions may not be something you are used to. You can cause lag on your end as a killer and still get hits that are not visible on the survivor side, just as the survivor can cause lag and cause the same thing to happen on killer side (survivors can run in place but not take hits, teleport through walls/have erratic movement patterns, etc) while everyone else is in a perfect state. This is not server desync.

What you are talking about is desync. Desync and lag switching are *two completely different things*. What you can't do as killer is turn on *your own* lag switch, and have that effect another players synchronization with the server. That is just not how it works.
