I really like freddy. I mean, as a character. When he was released he was so underpowered and while you could pull some wins off with him-I used to- he felts so....weak compared to what he was meant to be lore wise.
Now he feels more true to what he is as a character and a threat but I got to agree. There is very little to not reason to use his power. If you can put a snare down at a loop or a fake pallet down when indicated. Why not. They are all so powerful and directly do something that importantly impacts the chase that you'd be handicaping yourself not too.
Freddy should of had just loads of crazy cunning based powers depending on his add on. Like a red letting your disguise yourself as a survivor but if you look closely you can see knifes poking out of their fingers. Or that dream pallets will auto replace certain pallets for dreaming survivors. Now you just spam the powers he has.

Looping is the only skillful interaction for both sides. Killer deals with loops only, survivors hold M1 and loop. I argue both Freddy and Spirit are braindead because Freddy ignores all looping, the same with Spirit. The "mindgames" Spirit have are negated by equipping the perk stridor, and wearing a pair of headphones. They see you, you are dead. There is little to no counterplay. It was the same, as still is the same, with Nurse. But at least she got nerfed into the floor so that only top tier players can use her. Any goon can pick up Spirit or Freddy and do well with them currently.

If you think looping is the only skillful interaction, you're ignoring 3/4 of the killer gameplay but whatever float your boat.

What is DBD but chasing and hooking survivors? That is the definition of looping. You need to know who you can chase, who you should abandon, and which generator clusters to protect. That is about the extent of the gameplay.

You also need to understand anything about you're killer power and how you can use it. It may sound dumb, but knowing from wich angle to strike as a stealth killer change thing a lot, Mastering Aim with Deathslinger and Huntress is nothing but skill.

Dumbest thing I have heard in a while. I almost don't want to explain why because it is so basic.
You can run a tile in a way it takes 60 seconds for the survivor to drop the pallet and run to the next tile, or run the tile in a way it takes 10 seconds to drop the pallet and run to the next tile. Hmmmm. No particular way to run them.

Jungle gym, run it in a way they can't vault the window without taking a hit. The best killers in the game never run it in a way you are running towards the window for a free vault, only counter-clockwise to that direction.
Shack, double or triple vault the window. Hope they don't run off the tile in the meantime, most survivors won't.

You said there s a particular way to run the tiles as if survivors are bots that always choose one rout . Its not like that.By your logic i can always know which rout killer choose and then i can just go the other way.

The klller is the one who chooses the route? You can run it clockwise, allowing the survivors a fast vault for free, or you can run it counter-clockwise, making them do a medium vault and take a hit. Obviously those may not be the correct terms but that's the basic idea of running a jungle gym. You can also equip bamboozle, vault the window, and render the tile useless.

Uh brain dead? How? You literally have to bust your ass to reach infinite tier 3 with Myers. You're handicapped throughout the entire map, you'd have to be playing against potatoes to mori everyone.

If you think you are good at playing with Spirit and Freddy, I think you need to learn more about the game.
These killers is to play a simulator, Freddy a thousand cheats in the loop and gg.
Spirit, I disappear, it doesn't make any sense, personally, Spirit deserves a 100% rework, it's disgusting.

I will say something literally almost everyone in this thread will disagree with.
Facing Spirit and Freddy is fun, they actually pose a challenge to me as a Survivor. The only reason people don't like going against them however is because their power sometimes requires you to put more effort in than the killer themselves. And I feel like that's how facing a strong killer should feel like. How a strong killer should be. You need someone who understands Spirit and how she plays to counter her, to fool her during a loop or to beat her when she is faking her phase. And you need someone who constantly keeps Freddy busy and tear down his Fake Pallets and Snares so it'll be easier when being chased by him again.
It's not a 1v1, it forces Survivors to try be a 4v1. In a thread I made a while back, DBD right now feels like a 1v1v1v1v1 and I am very bothered by that. It's why I think playing Killer is easy right now, because solo survivors typically don't play the game as if it is a 4v1. It's a free-4-all.
Freddy forces a second objective, the Alarm Clocks, they force the survivor to choose either being vulnerable while asleep or risking waking up so it'll be easier for him to be chased around the map without the risk of being snared for 90 seconds. That's a full generator if you could keep Freddy busy for that long. Unless he can hit you during that duration, he is an M1 Killer. The game itself made it clear that staying asleep is horrible for you, that staying asleep is not advisable, that you should wake up when you can or wake up when it's no longer safe to be asleep.
As long as you are good enough you can keep Freddy busy before he even has a chance to use his power, he can waste 2 generators before he is even able to use his power on you if you start off wide awake. His Ultra Rare Add-ons are actually worth to use unlike certain other killers, and that's how Ultra Rare Add-ons should feel like. They should immediately feel like the Killer has a more crushing pressure from the start, and Survivors need to work harder to get out and escape.
And before anyone asks, I don't main Freddy, I suck at him. I don't know how to play him effectively. But I do know as a Survivor I always cheer whenever I see the clock at the bottom left of my screen. Because I want to see more killers like him, strong and effective, and forces me and my teammates to work harder to escape. To think differently to how we counter him compared to other killers.
Anyways, now that this is over, I'd like to also mention.
I know I am probably the odd one out here, I know the popular opinion is that Freddy is overpowered or braindead. But I feel like mentioning something.
Not everyone wants to play Survivor against a Killer they can easily understand and counter. Some of us actually want to feel like we earned our escape, to sometimes sacrifice others or yourself so that some of the group may escape. If Freddy is overpowered and braindead, then the Freddy killers I have been facing must be really braindead because they haven't been able to easily get more than 2 kills. But then again, that is just my experience.

So survivors bash Freddy for being easy to play, but have no problem with the brutal learning curve and endless bugs on nurse.... Seems that survivors want easy matches, but don't want killer to have that same luxury.
Freddy is a strong overall killer that's easy to play and there's nothing wrong with that. Not every killer that's strong needs to be extremely difficult to play. Before you say it, no I'm not a Freddy main, in fact I don't really like playing him. I vastly prefer wraith to Freddy, because there's more strategy to him.

Pallets which are unsafe by Default (Hawkins, Badham for example) dont need to be broken. But you also dont need to spam Snares around a Loop to catch a Survivor, when the Pallet is that unsafe. But if you do it, you would not even outplay them.
And the Pallets which should be broken (and reward Distance) can also be played by Freddy by just spamming Snares. And this is simply wrong.
(In General, I expect a Cooldown to Snares in the future. They will not add it anytime soon, because they dont want to rush with it, but I expect Nerfs for Freddy, he is too easy to play)

Not every palled is safe. You either get hit or stun the killer and run away. If you don’t know how to use pallets don’t blame the killer for being braindead by forcing you to drop it early. Freddy can’t possibly get you at safe pallets without breaking them regardless of snares. If you still get hit, that’s your lack of skill.

people defending Freddy when Trapper, Hag, Clown, Huntress, and most others all have a risk to using their power, especially in a chase/at a pallet

How can you guys still complain about a perfectly fine killer intead of playing the game and getting better against him? It’s not like he has a 80% win rate or anything. Why would you care how the Freddy player plays anyway? May be it is easier for him to do well than it is for you to play against him so what? Nerf him? ######### no. It’s the same for Nurse. Playing against her well is like 7 times easier than doing well as her. With this logic survivors in general should have limited movement so that losing her would be as difficult as measuring blink distances and doing accurate blinks rather than just holding down W while losing line of sight.

Freddy is in need of a major nerf and I'm so glad that people are speaking up about it. He's the most OP POS killer in this game that takes zero skill to play. The only people you'll see defending him are Freddy mains or killers that switch to Freddy when they get steamrolled by a team that outplayed them just so they can mindlessly get their 4k and feel like a winner without actually improving. Everyone else recognizes how OP he is and agrees that he needs a nerf. But noooooo, just like everything else in this game BHVR gotta cater to the minority of killers that whine about not getting a 4K in every game.

I don't have a problem particularly with Freddy but I think it's kind of silly to see people trying to act like he takes skill and mocking others who disagree. Very pathetic.

How is he boring? He literally forces you to have a second objective which you can ignore, but can prove lethal if you keep doing that for ages.
He also gives you a time limit before he can use his power (if you haven't been hit) on you, the guy literallly keeps the threat level high. How is that boring?

He's boring because the game slows to a crawl.
He also straight up ignores BT so he can tunnel for free.
He also just teleports to your gen across the map and pops it to kill any momentum you've earned from having him distracted for 70 seconds.
He also gets rewarded for doing nothing because you eventually fall asleep anyways.
He's literally more boring Clown despite being a stronger killer. He puts me to sleep irl.

Freddy has a near 4k average. Which is insane. That's nowhere near balanced but Freddy mains will defend him because they know he's the only way they're getting their 4ks. Future Freddy mains are the same people that whine about toxic SWF or that they get looped into oblivion but don't take their own advice and "git gud".

Pop is literally only 20 seconds, it's not as devastating as most people think it is.
And slowing the game down to a crawl? Unless you're a godly Freddy like someone I know, Freddy can't slow the game down to a crawl just by existing.
Also the thing about ignoring BT. If you know you are facing him, why even try to unhook when he is nearby? I'm pretty sure you can just wait until he either leaves or get someone who is awake with BT to snatch him while Freddy is distracted with someone else.
I mentioned before in the post prior to this that Freddy and Spirit are the two killers who I think forces the Survivors to play a 4v1, how a true strong killer should feel like. And that is why I think he should stay.

There's a difference between somebody having no real points and you just refusing to acknowledge the ones that people are typing out for you to read.
Again, I don't have any strong feelings one way or the other toward Fredward. As I said before, it's more just the fact that you ignore peoples' points and mock them that's hilarious. This comment here shows exactly what I'm talking about. Especially the "you people" when I made it clear I'm not on any "side" here.

Yeah, you're definitely not a survivor main. You would know that Pop is absolutely devestating on a killer that can literally warp to an objective in seconds and demolish the progress on it.
