Ironic, they could save far cry 3, but not dbd themselves.

bad frames + bad servers = upset players
upset players + bad update schedule = players leave
players leaving = less money

Wait you guys are able to play with the frames? I just stopped playing, played the game 3 years daily and won’t touch it now because turning the camera is painful let alone certain killers with added effects

I can't play The Doctor or The Demogorgon as the FPS is so bad on those killers, it's just not fun at all.

Seriously guys tho chill out a second, BOTH new map feels like they are more optimized than the current version of those maps FPS are like 15 FPS on average higher, so that's something going for them but ...the regular maps took a 30 FPS nose dive on my part. Also they need to fix that ######### generator light costing like 30 FPS.
But I think they might be getting somewhere. They might....maybe.

Pat did comment to say the devs are aware of this thread. I am starting to think they don't care tbh they know how bad the frame rate is already but still pushing with new improved graphics which I'm sure is only going to make our issues worse.
Just have to see after the ptb how bad its going to be.

But you are not playing the ptb on console only on pc. In all respect you will not know how these new changes will be on console and how they will effect or system.
You have no issues on pc as far as I'm aware compared to console.

Well i'm going with if I'm getting more FPS you guys should too, but we are not out of the wood, just played SH map, FPS are as horrible as before and when a generator pop's that room is now sub 60 FPS, meaning killer on console will get 6 frames.

Except the 2 reworked map, they have higher FPS than lery's I checked it multiple time. So far highest FPS i got was Yamaoka + Badham, than normal maps but it's lower than I get on current version, Lery + the lab were a bit lower than current version on Ultra settings, worst map was like usual then silent hill map, how does this play on console because it my lowest of all, all the time. I get lots of time 50 on PTR on ultra settings, did not check with shadow on high tho, seems the new shadow drains a lot now.
Then again i'm wasting time trying to test all this for you console guys, y'all going OMG PRETTY MAP = BAD FPS REEEEEEEE.
while i'm here saying those 2 new map perform the best so far.

You'll tell me that when a generator pop 😂, it's a 25 FPS drop on my end in PTR let's say you are playing killer at 24 FPS you approach a almost done generator the survivor pop's it, bam your FPS drop to 14 for like 2 sec than no more than 18 because the generator light is on... that's what they need to fix it's so dumb.

No worries also we won't ever know until it hit console but they might be into something, seriously we ALL want this game to be better optimized it's really awful on every end, you guys just have it way way worst.

EDIT: apparently @UseTheValve says it won't be the case, and the new maps are the best performing. If that will be the case on console as well, I'll eat a full vial of putrid serum.

But the normal map are performing worse tho and the generator when the light are on is a FPS dropper.
I'm really confused I think it's because they might be implementing some better optimization with the 2 reworked map but it look likes the old map have some new light which cast some new shadow and those lower my overall performance on those old map, who knows with behavior. I really hope they fix the gen light tho.

The new reworked maps look like cancer for console if they don't address the fps issues, console killers are gonna hate playing those maps. Even PC players get massive frame drops when they break the walls, this is really stupid, they need to get there priorities straight and optimize the game.

@UseTheValve is telling us frame rates seem best on the new graphics maps, although there's other issues. It's not going to be the graphics updates that kills us, we're already dead tbh

That's true, the memory leak has been in the game since stranger things chapter so you're right doesn't really matter since we're "already dead".

I don't know much about this stuff but sometimes when I play and use an exhaust perk like lith or sprint burst my screen will sometimes shutter/freeze and due to that it causes me to run into stuff which then leads me to getting downed/hit. Is this sometimes happening because of the fps people are talking about in here or is it a issue on my end like my connection, console (etc)?

I love struggling on a hook and a gen goes off or doctor does a blast or exposed status is activated causing the game to stutter and I die. Optimizing console would be nice.

PRetty please allow consoles to opt out of JUSt the PC crossplay and we can live with the trash framerate.

no, it's a real thing that happens to everyone: when a new status effect is triggered in your client, you will lag. Sometimes it's very noticeable, sometimes it's not. But it's a problem on how their system works behind the scene, not a connection problem

You also get massive frame drop if killer break the pallets which is almost killer doing it while chasing/looping

One way to combat the terrible framerate is to take every killer charm off of your hooks, it helps to improve the frames a lot from my experience
sadly it only really helps if you’re playing killer

Console optimization should have happened before cross-play because it really shows. We are at such an unfair disadvantage.
