Spine chill is the problem
Spine chill can act on killers, that we know. What I didn't know is that it could act on the speed of the jumping obstacles, and that changes everything!
Already this perk makes the stealth killers at 5€ null and useless. If moreover it gives an advantage on the loops...
36 meters of spotting, how is it possible? It's already complicated to look for survivors in a 200 miles map (I'm talk the news maps, beautiful but big)...
Don't tell me to moonwalk, it's a stroke of luck if you find them, because the teams communicate and there is always a spotter, reason why I can't find anyone once at the generator !
So I ask again, why, why 36 meters, why does this perk become so strong in the chases, and why should the survivors know 36 meters in advance that we are coming? To have time to go more than 50 meters from us? Yes there is the perk of Legion or Billy, but when 4 survivors know loops you can't do anything, they will finish your gen !
Let's stay logical, at least once, stealth killers are useless against this kind of players !
Why not give it a cooldown or something like that ? Like "premonition"..

Just deal with it, it's not like it's going to be addressed anytime soon anyway.
Already predicting another bunch of clowns saying that spine chill isn't big of a problem and OP shouldn't complain
4 -
With Ghostface I don't feel stealth with ranks 1.. they already know where I am before I even notice where they are? I wonder how we can call this killer a stealth killer ! If we look in the description "use all our perception and attention to know where he is".. and that finally it's enough to have Spine chill and wait for him to advance to know where he is, it's completely against the principle of a stealth killer... He is already easily spotted thanks to his lead feet... just like Wraith with his growl, just like Pig with his hurricane breath....
Why don't they notice all these inconveniences before we buy?😀
1 -
spine chill isn't big of a problem and OP shouldn't complain 😃💖
19 -
it don't let them know your coming it just lets them know your facing in the direction they are in. most cases survivors hear the heart beat before spine chill even triggers. the action speed increase isn't noticeable in vaults i mean if they run that with resilience then you might notice it but only if your really paying ultra close attention. and honestly i cant recall ever seeing a killer main streamer say oh hes using spine chill & resilience just on vault speeds alone. i mean 6% of two seconds isn't to noticeable. this is the only perk that counters stealth killers it is a needed perk just as aura perks are needed for killers as well. but sadly we only know when your looking in our direction.
1 -
I mean, no counter to stealth killers would be kinda busted nah?
17 -
Spine Chill does not tell you WHERE a killer is. Just like when people claim that certain killers have no counterplay when they mean they don't want to change their playstyle, spine chill is the same.
i'm not telling you to get good or anything, but it's a matter of observing.
while sure, some survivors do run when spine chill comes on, but mostly they wait (i'm no exception) till the heartbeat comes on. Like, SC comes on, quick look around -> no killer in sight, continue what you were doing. Killer in sight? run or shuffle away.
it comes down to observing before striking, which is the embodiment of stealth killers
9 -
I can absolutely understand why stealth killers are upset about Spine Chill, but I would have a huge problem without it, since I have a hearing problem and don't always get the game's audio clues.
I honestly don't know how to solve it in a way that both sides would benefit from.
5 -
Premotion work very well...
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=17e7oAa7CnM
3:52
I had Claudette before, with Spine chill level 3. I stopped Claudette for Meg, without this perk I'm unable to loop without getting hit... and yet I'm strong in loop!
Conclusion, this perk is strong.
I've already said it... Ghostface has leaden feet, Pig blows like a hurricane, Wraith growls like a rabid animal... and you can hear it from far away !
0 -
As you say, all you have to do is wait for the killer to move. And as is often the case Ghostface is quickly spotted!
The logic of a stealth killer is "surprise", so not to expect it... Cooldown or reduce the meters. Or the perk only works when the killer is within a radius of 32 meters, like the perk of the "Whispers" killer, it would be less precise but we would be equal !
On the other hand, Premotion works very well, but once again there are two perks that work against surprise killers...
0 -
I'm in no way a good survivor, and I'm overly paranoid... but that ghostface is quickly spotted... only when they try to play him as a m1 killer who can crouch (in my experience, so, this is objective)
GF is the main reason I want to be able to smack killers with an empty toolbox, cause good gracious, my heart
4 -
Crouch is supposed to be his strong point... but no, it is on the contrary his weak point! They should not be able to spot him while crouch i think !
0 -
So, to play Devil's Advocate here, @MeltingPenguins is completely right. You don't get an indication of WHERE the killer is, only that they are looking at you. I have had a lot of situations where I have run into the killer because I didn't observe my surroundings and relied on Spine Chill.
As someone who also made it to Red Ranks with Spine Chill and Bond in their build, it also has one advantage to it that Premonition does NOT and with a cooldown, never will: You can't tell if the killer has ditched a chase and is coming for you instead.
I also play a fair bit of stealth killers, but using Spine Chill against Survivors to spook them off generators is also a skill in its own and something that shouldn't be underestimated. So, I use stealth on both sides, and commonly use Spine Chill. All I can say is that it helps less than you give it credit for, not to mention that there usually aren't THAT many teams that use Spine Chill, and even if there is one, other team members miss the call or don't notice something easily enough. Stealth killers need something to keep them in check, and that's from a Pig main!
3 -
People callin' spine chill too strong now? Sure it's strong against stealth killers but at this point it's the only reason I'm not getting hit through vaults.
5 -
if it was closer like 10 or 12 meters that would be an actual buff because you would know how close they were but 36 meters make it slightly more confusing
2 -
Spine chill can also work against you. There’s been plenty of times when seeing it activate has caused me to move from my position only to have me stupidly walk right into him.
2 -
Third person perspective vs their first person perspective is already a fairly big advantage against them; survivors can constantly watch behind themselves.
1 -
Between Pig and GF there is a huge difference... GF has to wait for his power, Pig is at will...
I am not talking about GF's tick problems...
0 -
Ok, I'll take off spine chill and use ds instead.
4 -
You would probably find it very, very difficult to run into him on an OPEN map.
That's why I'm happy with Freddy's new Map, the vegetation reminds me of Scream (the movie). That's how maps should be !
Spine chill would be easily bypassed with vegetation, trees, and the feeling of having a COVER!🤗
I'm not asking for it to be removed, I'm asking for.. just rework...🤔
0 -
Spine chill isn't big of a problem and OP shouldn't complain.
8 -
Btw your are the clown, not the others.
4 -
Even still, Pig's stealth is also technically worse and more limiting. But that also isn't the point that is up for debate. Both are stealth killers, both rely on an element of surprise for their first hit. My points still stand.
3 -
Mine too, they cannot be destroyed. A stealth killer is the surprise, not + not - .🤗
0 -
Spine Chill is a strong perk. In addition to the obvious benefit of giving you a warning that a stealth killer is looking at you and the small vault bonus it also is useful in a chase because it helps you gauge if the killer is still actively chasing you or has broken off. There’s a reason it’s a fairly commonly used perk. (Not quite as common as Decisive Strike or Dead Hard but in the top five or six I think, I normally see at least one or two Spine Chill survivors per match.)
1 -
Oh, running into him on an open map definitely happens. Working on a gen, spine sense comes on and stays on meaning that he likely heard the gen and coming straight for you. You just don’t know from with direction but you have to move. North, south, east, west: 25% chance that which ever direction he is coming from is the way you choose. Wide open maps only give him a better chance of him seeing you at the same time you see him.

Again how many red ranks are playing with Premonition ? Many, I often come across them, I used to play with these perks and I know how to use them. I'm the champion of the hatch, I'm always the last survivor in the game !
Premonition + Spine chill = last survivor😀
0 -
A lot of people say if you're killer, as you walk to a gen, just turn your camera at an angle so spine chill isn't active. But spine chill affects more than sneaking up on people working on gens. With it, survivors can easily detect any killer using any undetectable perk, regardless of what floor they're on; it reduces, if not downright eliminates accidentally running into the killer; if you're standing at a pallet and looping the killer and spine chill goes dark, it'd be safe to assume the killer is moonwalking.
I don't know for certain what spine chill should do, but I think when it activates it should stay active for longer before it deactivates, or have a cooldown before it activates again.
1 -
Uh, yeah. We were only talking about spine chill. Clearly you can improve your odds by adding other perks. Egads.
I’m often last survivor even without choosing Premonition. There are better perks to choose from that are better in the survival dept.
2 -
+1000 🤗
Because you are veteran. This perk couple with Spine chill can be powerfull. For us shes can be used for the precision.. but we know the game we dont have needed.
1 -
Yeah, no. I never see premonition used and I play the game on three accounts spanning from red to green ranks.
0 -
I've already seen red and purple rows with these advantages, coupled with the Spine chill + Urban Escape = I can't find the survivors before the 3rd generator... Memories of a rather irritating game as a Pig !
0 -
Not really man. Third person helps at loops, but not with awareness.
3 -
Just remove Vault speed buff and maybe reduce range to 30/32/34 m.
0 -
Yeah, I agree with you on that. Without spine chill, I can be spinning my camera constantly and still be grabbed off gens. I guess I was thinking about how I've been able to evade killers that are right next to me by walking around trees n whatnot, assuming I know they're there.
2 -
this can't be real. Stealth builds are pure dookie.
I'd take urban premonition spine chill survivors over a sprint burst DS UB object/bt/adren squad any day.
2 -
You're complaining about Spine Chills speed buff with vaults? It's only 6%, it's negligible at best. The perks main advantage is information.
1 -
Just look the video, before.
0 -
Ahh yes let's nerf non meta perks so I run my meta build even more! Clown.
1 -
I'll tell you what, you can get rid of the 6% vault speed, if we can get fast vaults back from any angle, and vault vacuums back too.
1 -
No understand.. but ok 😉
0 -
You never played DBD in 2016, survivors could fast vault at any angle, more windows were open, and intiating a vault there was a vacuum that pulled the survivor to the window, gaining distance, which oftened made the killer miss. These were quote on quote "problems" A perk working as intended is not a problem and it's certainly not OP either, anyone who remembers the original DS would tell you that.
Here's a clip of what DBD was like in 2016 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q1fkX3H84SE
1 -
Do we know each other ? Maybe I was there at the beginning, who knows..
Once again, a stealth killer is a surprise killer.. this perk ruins the surprise, and is rightly "a problem perk".
Have a good day sir 🤗
0 -
You definitely never played in 2016. Do you have any legacy clothing? Probably not.
If a survivors perk that counters "stealth" a problem, then why aren't the perks like BBQ that counter survivors stealth a problem? The doctor pretty much destroys stealth play too. Your opinion is really biased tbh.
2 -
Uh, yours as well, because BBQ can be countered by the lockers, sir. All players, even beginners, know this....Legion power can counter the lockers, yes but he need...🤗
The Doctor... against a high level team the Doctor is useless. Sometimes yes, sometimes no. And of course I'm not for the Doctor, I find him a little too annoying because of the ray of terror.
0 -
Lockers are not always readily available, and a killer can counter lockers with Iron Maiden so they suffer from exposed and scream when they use it. Making lockers useless. Killers can also run whispers which has absolutely no counter, which on a doctor is annoying since he can flush you out with his static shock.
Survivors have a perk that just so happens to counter your main killer, it's not a big deal and it should not be nerfed just because you don't like it. That's not how balance works.

- Memento Mori
- Chili & BBQ
- Nurse's Calling
- Dragon's grip
- Haunted ground
- Pink one shot add-ons
- Stridor
- Tinkerer
- Spirit Fury
- Blood Favor
- Noed
- Make your choice
I don't see you complaining about this :). All those perks are game breaking for the survivors as they remove the way they have to survive. Some more than others.
Oh and red rank killers have a 70%+ kill rate ratio per game, not your case ? Then get good cause you are surely a bad killer to complain about spine chill.
Game is killer sided.
2 -
I play Killer Main - The Perk is absolutely fine. The Info it gives you is not too strong. Also, as a Killer you should constanly look around while not in an active chase, in this case the Perk also constantly activates and deactivates and leaves the Survivor guessing.
A really good killer will have more issues with perks like DS or Adrenaline, but not spine chill.
Only a really good survivor can make acutal use of the vault bonus, which also makes it a nice skill perk.
On lower levels of play, survivors that run it will leave their gen and hide everytime the perk activates, even though the killer just randomly got into its range.
2 -
Not easy ? When a survivor is on the ground just go to the nearest locker...
I used Legion's perk before, but it doesn't work against red ranks, because they know loop.. they really want you to chase them away !
Mori ? This kind of game shouldn't even need mori, we should be able to kill the survivors... It would deter SWF !
BBQ ? I explained
Nurse calling ? 28 meters, Spine chill + Terror radius = stop heal
Dragon's grip ? Finish the generator in the nose of the killer, you find it logical in a horror game ? They are not afraid of the killer = it's not a horror game = it's a frustrating game !
Haunted ground ? We all know how "Ruin" perks finish..
Pink one shoort ? Like addon instant heal?
Stridor ? Bugged for me !
Tinkerer ? Even with a good pressure the generators finish in less than 5 minutes.. so this perk is useless with SWF.
Spirit fury ? Loop, loop, windows, loop, windows, loop.. reloop...
Blood favor ? Loops, infinite loop again.. now it's finish
Noed ? Oh yes, the perk that allows to finish the game with two kills maximum ? The easy perk destroyed against SWF, the kind of team that destroys all the totems on the map and prevents NOED from working...
Make your choice ? DS, and more others perks....
Without his perks have lost match after match... We depend on addons, because of many nerves....😑
0 -
You sound like a really bad killer if you can't effectively utilize some of the killers most powerful perks, it's no wonder you think a non meta survivor perk should be nerfed.
Also survivors "insta" heal add ons don't exist anymore.
DS doesn't work on Make Your Choice either.
1 -
I won 5 games in a row against red and purple ranks without perk and with Legion.. I think I know how to play ! But I still remind you that you didn't know about the BBQ and the lockers...🤣
Ohhh yes, insta heal exist, I touched a survivor he was wounded, he jumped a pallet and instantly heal !
DS doesnt work ? We're not talking about the same thing.
Okay, I'm going to stop here. Bye sir
