Is this a joke from the devs?

I assume the hotfix is coming soon. Why couldn't you wait that short amount of time for the hotfix to be ready, and then push the update with the fixes?
Quality issues are not new. When you announced that you are going self-published, parting ways with Starbreeze, you said you would have more control over the updates, with the implication that you would be able to take your time to polish the patches and release them in a working state. This patch has clear issues, that you knew before it was released, so why couldn't you take your time to polish it?

What the #########! A new clown addon? He is getting reworked omg they teased it!!
4 -
If Blizzard (OWNED BY ACTIVISION) can delay a WoW expansion then the devs could delay one of their silly little killers.
Killer power bugged, every perk bugged and to top it off just about every object on Charlotte's base skin clips into her model
This chapter release is such a circus I almost thought it was the clown rework
37 -
This is unacceptable. There is no excuse to release unfinished content, with multiple bugs along with ignoring feedback from the PTB.
This isn't some small ''indie'' company, they're a multi-million company now and this is the best we get?
Disgusting, I'm not buying it with auric cells.
32 -
It's expected from them, nothing out of the ordinary here
10 -
OOF
5 -
Unfortunately things like this will continue until we stop letting it happen.
This chapter should have been delayed. It's absolutely unacceptable.
61 -
wait, wut? What the hell is that addon? Did they actually change that?
2 -
As much as I give Blizzard ######### for the current state of Overwatch, I have to admit that they at least somewhat listen to their playerbase.
7 -
I don't believe any add-ons for the clown have changed. I think this is the same thing that happened with Billy and Leatherface add-ons where the changed text went live before the actual change was pushed.
Basically we have a teaser for clown's meme add-on.
5 -
ah yes, cuz we need more of those.
10 -
Lol well I mean it's the truth, if you ######### up that much at work would you still have a job? They say they're gonna fix it just so they can break 10 other things and act like they care about our feedback on a problem intentionally created
4 -
Not just that. Notice how it makes reference to an "Afterpiece Antidote."
2 -
I read that as being Clown's power. But his power is "Afterpiece Tonic". I don't want to get too carried away with speculation, but sounds like Clown might have more than 1 power.
1 -
"Survivors who inhale too much of the antidote gas heal one Health State."
12 -
The only thing game breaking is how much easier it is for killers. There are huge deadzones on the maps, no pallets for a hundred miles. Most pallets on the new Ormond are actual suicide zones. The map designer should be fired!
I played one game as survivor on the new Ormond map and I legit turned off the game to take a breather because it was so tilting. This is a major issue, the tiny amount of bugs on the killer side are minuscule here.
7 -
When I saw Ormond didn't have a safe pallet every 3 metres I too took leave of my senses and had to retire to the fainting couch before my husband revived me with some smelling salts

Not all of the bugs are all survivors.
I'm not willing to write an essay right now, but don't go on your whole "woe is survivors" tangent.

Honestly, I'm not surprised at all with this update. It's the same, every time with these releases. The entire idea of this killer made no sense and I knew they'd be the worst killer in the game. For this reason, along with others, I've been on hiatus for a long long while (though time to derank to r20).
I saw someone mention nurse and her bugs. You know you won't get a reply to that unfortunately. She's been bugged and broken and that won't be fixed because it makes her worse, which adds to the nerf she got. I haven't bought anything from BHVR since Spirit or Clown I believe. I'm missing more than half the killers.
I've said it once and I'll say it again, until there's a legit carbon copy competitor, these things will continue to happen. There's a monopoly on the genre. BHVR can do what they want and because there's no threat. This is not an attack, just my opinion.
5 -
That's all well and good, but this shouldn't have been released at all until everything was fixed.
1 -
Damn I built that kind of reputation here huh? 😅
16 -
Exactly this! It's not like these are super unexpected issues that were impossible to find beforehand. In fact, they were found before the release, or they couldn't be mentioned in the patch notes.
In the past it looked like that maybe the QA was lacking, and certain issues weren't found before the release. But with this there is no excuse. The issues are known, the issues are not minor, they should have been fixed before release.
7 -
I was really close to fully commiting but that would be a waste of my time.

Oof apparently legion is basically unplayable right now too, his feral frenzy movies at base speed haha. So I guess they found a way to make the new killer not the worst in the game after all- by breaking an existing killer to have even LESS of a power haha.
30 -
I was surprised to see a comment from a community manager after 4 months of inactivity, and now I know why they don't talk here anymore, they get al lot of hate bcs of the state of the game, and tbh is all deserved..
34 -
its impressive that the devs broke so much so fast ,like the chapter was coming incomplete ,however the stuff that we did expect are literally broken to the point they dont work, amazing devs.
i assume the hotfix will also give us the rest of the chapter or is that getting pushed back because of how broken the game just became?
7 -
You don't have a quality control department do you BHVR? Of course you don't. It matches with the whole mediocrity that you people display in everything that you do. It is rough, but it fits you. And there is no one to blame but yourselves for such thing. No one forced you to proceed the way you have been choosing to proceed for the past years. Ignoring and treating your community the way you have it's outrageous.
You walk like them, you talk like them. You must be one of them. You people are mediocre.
17 -
This has to be the most rushed and disappointing chapter they ever released.
I wonder if having to work at home due to lock down was the reason the quality is so low.
This chapter isn't even worth iridiscent shards, let alone real money. Quite shameful.
25 -
So not only do we a disappointing killer and perks for both sides but now we can't even use them? There's always bugs with new dlcs so I'm not surprised anymore but not being able to test the new perks and killer? We shouldn't be waiting for a fix it should be playable now. Like come on bro.
3 -
What's that old saying? No-one remembers if it came out late, only that it came out broken.
I genuinely feel sorry for the Devs. This is a ######### dumpster fire of a chapter and someone went and said "No, out the door, now!"
10 -
Too bad everyone can't learn this lesson.
69 -
It's honestly incredibly insulting to have BHVR expect us to pretend like unfinished products are expected & commonplace and then buy it.
2 -
I buy every chapter, but I won't be buying this chapter. Sorry but this is unacceptable, I don't buy a broken dishwasher from Lowes and I don't buy broken games from game devs. Fix this trash before you put it up for sale, it is honestly insulting.
9 -
I've never seen a killer this weak in this game before either. It's literally a free escape every game with them right now. They can't do anything lol.
3 -
No Man's Sky disproves Miyamoto's claim, though. Fact is, with enough effort, any game can be made good.
9 -
You do realize how long that took though right? It took nearly a year of polish and DLC before it became the game it was supposed to be. BHVR has been at this for over 4 years and it's still a train wreck.
26 -
Don’t worry the Fog Whispers will promote it as the best thing since sliced bread to help sell it. I’ve already seen several of the usual suspects spreading the lies today.
13 -
I do, yes, seeing as how I bought it on release. My point is that saying "there's no point, DbD is bad forever" is not productive, unless your goal is to get the devs to stop working on the game altogether.
4 -
Well, certainly not Tru3talent lol.
He's rightfully saying the killer is trash tier since PTB day 1 😂
14 -
Tru3 isn’t one of the usual suspect whisperers.
1 -
This was TOTALLY ready for release:
22 -
I get that they probably have content release deadlines but this is just sad. Had I not known otherwise I wouldn't be surprised if someone told me they didn't do a PTB for this chapter.
2 -
I normally give the devs the benefit of the doubt, but I can't defend this patch. This is crossing the line of what should be acceptable. I hope they listen to the community on this and rethink their future updates.
12 -
The last time I posted on the forums, a Mod tried convincing me that someone with 5 hours can have more knowledge than someone with 1,000 hours... I said you have to be joking... and no response after that. So I needed a break. Came back when I heard about this new killer. Been playing since the ptb release and can I just say... I've always expected poor quality but wow... they never fail to impress me lol
10 -
Yeah it's impressive. Even the patch that broke the basements and generator kicking (Which is only supposedly finally fixed now a year later as of this patch) wasn't nearly this bad.
2 -
Do you see a problem with that though? You paid full price for a game that wasn't even half of what they promised upon release. Then on top of that had to wait a year and dlc, (not sure if it was free or paid dlc but still) for the game to be what it was supposed to be from the start. Developers now don't even have to finish or test new game releases nowadays since they still get their money and we get to be glorified alpha/beta testers. It shouldn't take a community up in arms to get game developers to actually deliver what was promised from the get go.
3 -
I’m not asking this to be a jerk I am genuinely curious. Do they know that bugs exist before the patch is live? Do you guys have any form of quality control besides the ptb?
3 -
Is there a reason why it wasn't fixed with release? Is there no internal testing done before all this? As it stands, it seems there is little in the way of actual playtesting to see what goes out.
6 -
And they still want us to nominate them for that "Labor of Love" Steam award... They literally don't even care anymore. They clearly rushed this out for the cash grab. Hopefully nobody spent actual money on the DLC. Don't remind them that you can still buy these characters with iridescent shards, or they'll remove the currency from the game.
18 -
Literally NOTHING has changed from the PTB!! If anything, we have EVEN MORE BUGS. If your DLC isn't ready, THEN DON'T RELEASE IT. SCREW YOUR RELEASE SCHEDULE.
