Glad to see Hit Validation is working as intended!
So much for TOO FAR? NO HIT.
Literally the next ######### game too.

"In situations where the Killer has a poor connection to the server, the server will step in and evaluate their hits to make sure that they are fair. If it is determined that the hit only landed due to the Killers weak connection (I.e. The Killer and the Survivor were too far away for the hit to land), the hit is rejected, and the Survivor does not take any damage. In simple terms, the player with a poor connection is at a disadvantage, no matter which side they are playing."
I personally don't think that my 65/63ms ping in this situation was the worse connection between myself and the killer, therefore the hits shouldn't have been granted.
5 -
Only thing I can say is you don't know what the killer ping was. Without that info there's not much to go on to blame for the hit.
Also I wouldn't be surprised if the hit validation just doesn't work🤷
6 -
It doesn't exist.
8 -
It's just Latency. It's as good as it will get on dedicated servers.

Sheesh I have countless clips just like these two but if it's ever brought up all I get in return is "cry more" or "just get good" lmfao. It forces you to misjudge taking a vault or dropping a pallet ultimately resulting in you dying when you shouldn't have. It's to the point where I've had to sacrifice two perk slots as staples for every build I run, those being Spine Chill + Resilience just for the tiny percent extra speed when vaulting in hopes that just MAYBE I won't get slapped after taking a few steps after my vault lmao, it's a ######### joke

They cleared stated that's not how it works anymore.
They have stated that whoever has the better connection to the server will have the better "hit" or no hit.
This should render high ping and VPN users completely null and void from getting hits.
But it's all a lie.
7 -
Yeah seems like hit validation is pretty #########. Maybe it helps with killer with 150 ping but these Chinese killers not so much ?
0 -
Botiz, who are you quoting? I need to know.
0 -
are you using the WIFI?
0 -
Yeah, I don't think hit validation is working properly.
2 -
Have to agree, I've seen the same issue in multiple matches.
3 -
I don't think hit validation is working at all. Matchmade with a VPN killer from Canada, (I live in Oklahoma and the game servers I almost always connect to are in Virginia), this man was downing everyone from at least 16 meters away. This man had a 7-second delayed stun from a pallet... 7 seconds. Still able to hit me before he got stunned btw.
When I get back home later today, I post the clips

My video will be done in 15 minutes.
It'll literally explain everything you encountered.

I was quoting the first reply to this thread, the guy who just said "Lag."
0 -
I meant, who's quote is this?
"In situations where the Killer has a poor connection to the server, the server will step in and evaluate their hits to make sure that they are fair. If it is determined that the hit only landed due to the Killers weak connection (I.e. The Killer and the Survivor were too far away for the hit to land), the hit is rejected, and the Survivor does not take any damage. In simple terms, the player with a poor connection is at a disadvantage, no matter which side they are playing."

Hit validation =/= Survivor is hit authority.

Ah, it's from here:

Perfect, thank you buddy.

Gotta love the people who have video evidence & screenshots of the latency but still believe hit validation isn’t the issue, your connection is.
Makes me laugh every time.
2 -
Oh, don't worry. Two days ago I was hit by a Freddy (no surprise there, huh?) who hit in front of him, while I was 5 METRES behind him. And I have a 200MB internet, so...

Hit validation is a lie

Get freddy claw'd

The killer's ping could have been anywhere from 20-50ms and you would have been the one inconvenienced. That's how it is. Don't assume that the game is biased towards killers or anything.
0 -
That sounds more like a hacker than the issue being discussed.

Thats the funny thing. Some people like you have countless clips, while i encounter that problem only once in a while. So maybe it is your connection?
A network-connection consists of more than ping response times, and doing a ping check after a lagspike tells you nothing at all. So all of that is no evidence for whatever, to be fair.
Funny thing, my internetprovider just changed something in their network, and since then at certain times i experience lags. The support told me to use their remote tool to provide readings on the problem. Only it never shows a problem, because during a lagspike, it cant be reached, and the moment you reached it the spike is gone, and the readings are fine.
I know a lot of people always say: "i got a good connection , the problem is not on my side" not realizing what makes a good connection, and why even good connections can have lagspikes.
2 -
I have a good connection and i know it, even the game shows that when i connect to frankfurt server i have <30 ping.
Those random lagspikes you're talking about don't exist, those hits happen only when i am playing against players that live very far away from the server i am connecting to or guess what? The same exact players i had already horrible hits with.
If there is a consistency of horrible hits against the same player again and again even on different matches while i don't have the same issues with killers that live near the server like me or with good connection then it's pretty clear there's no such thing as "random lagspike" or my connection being bad, there's players with cheap connection being rewarded by a questionable hit reg system that awards them
0 -
Btw killer bragging on his steam profile of using usb wifi dongle while playing killer
"It's the latency"
0 -
Then the devs are lying about their system. What do you propose we do about it?
0 -
There's nothing they can do to fix it. They can give us the best hit validation they can possibly come up with but till the hit reg will be killer sided there's nothing that will ever change. A killer with a really bad connection will always keep getting unfair hits. The only thing they can do is to buy more servers so that at least the distance issue can be somehow fixed. Other than that nothing except denying people with high ping to play killer.
0 -
Correct me if I'm wrong, but they said that they disabled it due to some problems with the Oni.
1 -
They enabled it back after 1 day i think
1 -
outplayed

Hits somehow look worse since hit validation was turned on. It's not my connection. I'm on a 1000 down/500 up fiber connection with consistent 40ms ping to the NA east server. Their netcode is a disaster.
0 -
The first was probably an unfortunate update tic.
The second, I mean everyone knows in the third movie Freddy has arms the length of a giraffe's neck.
1 -
Don’t worry, they’ll all rush in to pull the lag/ connection issues card on you
We know what’s really going on, and most of them feel those bogus hits are justified as they’re clicking their mouses and celebrating how good they are at downing survivors.
for what it’s worth, I never feel good about it either way
4 -
To my understanding it only matters if someone as high ping. If the survivor has for example 60ms and the killer has 75ms then that isnt a big enough of a ping difference to affect the hit. Cause of course someone will always have a higher or lower ping then someone by nature
0 -
@MandyTalk please explain since hit validation works :)
0 -
Do you see that there was no indication of his pinh being high no white or red circle. Also not to mention I have hella clips of bad hits and clips as killer of clearly bad hits I'm giving despite being on high ping (playing on a different server).
0 -
Thats what mandy told me it Is all a lie.
0 -
Doesn’t even matter what proof you provide, people will find any way to blame your connection as if Hit Validation is 100% accurate.
Its ridiculous.
1 -
I had 450 Ping.
By their logic, I shouldn't have been getting these hits.
This was yesterday. Please, enjoy. Rank 3.

That killer shack drop man

so you have a 100% direct connection that is solely between you and your provider? I doubt that highly. that'd be VERY expensive indeed, you may have that kind of cash but I highly doubt that. cable internet (fiber AND copper) uses a TRUNK methodology that if there are fewer users on at any one time you get more of the bandwidth you have access to, when more people get on the internet that bandwidth shrinks and can cause lag and you may not even notice it. PLEASE learn how the internet actually works when you are trying to say that you have no lag spikes what so ever as that's an amazing thing. Dialup is slow as hell and affords you a relative direct connection to the isp, DSL is a bit faster but you have to be within a certain distance from the local substation if not can't get it and it's still dial up. if you have dish network you are using a weak dish antenna to broadcast through the atmosphere and if it's stormy you will get spikes, pixilation on tv etc. cable that is underground you end up finding is the fastest but you share it with your neighborhood's trunk line and that can cause all sorts of issues. none of the issues i mentioned here are easily detected, nor is it something you can affect what so ever without drastic measures.
1 -
Now I call bs, at 450 ping you wouldn't be able to even pull Hatchets
1 -
The video says it all.
And it was 450 Ping. You're telling me those hits were legit? I was the killer and I knew they weren't.
0 -
No stuttering at 450 ping? Lol what a laugh
1 -
The proof is there, look at the hits. It's all there.
Hit Validation does not exist. I provided proof, and the fact that you're not believing it is more of a "you" problem than mine.
1 -
As a killer main, every time this happens, I get mixed feelings. On one hand, getting a hit is always satisfying. On the other hand, I really don't feel I deserve that hit, and specially, the survivor that was doing its best to avoid it.
0 -
I have seen it with my own eyes yet it doesn't exist..interesting
