The update
- I hope that with unbroken is a mistake, because if you don't survive the trial, it doesn't provide any points at all. Meaning, you need at least 3 gold in the other categories to NOT depip in red ranks. Easy enough in SWF, but not with random players and hard camping / tunneling killers.
- The hit detection is aweful. The killer was twice as far away than usual and still hit me. My ping was ok.
- The run animations look bad, compared to the old ones. I don't know what was the point to change them, if the old ones allready looked good and no one was complaining about it.

Yea, everyone is talking about it.
I just find myself shaking my head as I can't fathom what exactly they were thinking with this update.
This is the first time I've seen the devs managing to unify survivors and killers over what is collectively a mess on both sides.
From an outside perspective its actually kind of impressive. Unifying the player base over a catastrophic update.

But the unbroken thing is a bug or?

Not sure point 1.
Points 2 and 3 you raised I agree with and everyone is talking about:
As a survivor this update is a disaster. As a killer, this game has gone from the 'horror' genre to 'comedy'.
Once those limping shuffle runs start after I've hit a survivor, I can't stop laughing.

I like new running animations more. They feel more "alive". And if no one complained, this does not mean that it should not be changed. They already explained that they were trying to make the survivors more alive and realistic, well, they almost succeeded

It looks now more clunky. It was perfectly fine before.
Why is it, that people complain all the time and the devs take months to fix it if ever and then they put in work for changes NOBODY asked for. What is wrong with them?

didnt know robots meant “realistic”

Tinfoil hat time? Was this the plan all along?

- Pipping is set to matter even less than it already does once MMR goes live, so I'm not really worried about the emblem system tbh.
- Nothing changed with regards to hit detection in this update.
- I think the animations look really good ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
- There are dozens of other good fixes and changes in this update

didnt know realistic movements meant "robots"

People who are upset are generally the ones posting on the forum, not the people who enjoy the changes. The one thing that I've seen a very loud outcry against is the new HUD, but that's not mentioned in this post, and many people, myself included, have no issue with it.

- Except for the bloodpoints you get on rank reset...
- Nothing officially changed, but in reality we all see it.

- The bloodpoints you get on rank reset are nothing. Let's say you lose out on like 10 pips because of this emblem change and never hit rank 1. You probably lost out on like 15 minutes worth of free BPs (that we weren't getting before, btw) over the course of an entire month. This is pretty much a non-issue lol.
- Speak for yourself on this one :)

Okay seriously I don’t see how anyone could say the new animations look more realistic than the old ones. They look cheaper and even older. By a ton.
In reality, when I try to walk slowly sneaking by someone/something I walk exactly like old walking animation. The new one looks robotic and fake to me, and out of context mostly.
Running just looks bad to me. Injured lol, if you don’t see how wrong that is I don’t know what to say. They look constipated.

Lmao these hoops are insane.

x Agree. It looks wonky to say the least and nobody asked for a animation update. But do you know what people asked? Key nerf, DS, nerf, meta changes, bug fixes. No wonder the important things don't get fixed if they waste time at completely fine things.

How is this jumping through hoops? They are giving us free bloodpoints based on rank which we weren't getting before, and when MMR goes live (which is expected reasonably soon) rank will not matter whatsoever aside from getting those free bloodpoints. Making it slightly harder to pip up is therefore not an issue. They're giving us a cookie and the community is mad that it's not chocolate chip. I think people are just too eager to complain - would you rather no free BPs at all?
I have not played much of this update, but I also haven't noticed any ridiculous hits.

Slightly harder? Which planet do you live on? Do you only play SWF or are just that much better than the average player? Because i can tell you, in red ranks with random people and / or killers that like to tunnel / camp, there isn't a easy way to pip up and with this "update", it's even easier to de-pip. If they wanted that even more survivors using the meta perks, they have achieved that (or drop to play survivor at all).

Well red ranks have been full of boosted potatoes forever, so maybe this will help lol. Pipping in solo queue definitely isn't easy regardless of the Unbroken emblem, agreed, but at the end of the day this should just make people rank up a little slower in a world where rank already doesn't matter. When MMR goes live rank is even more useless, but even before MMR goes live there's no real incentive to rank up or rank down. If you get tunneled and camped and happen to depip because you needed that one Unbroken tier, oh well, next match you're likely to face a weaker killer. Not a problem. With the new rank-based reward system, the rewards aren't big enough to actually justify grinding for them, so it's basically just a nice little bonus that people really shouldn't be paying much attention to. If you're a rank or two lower because that one Unbroken emblem tier was the difference between pipping and not pipping, oh well, you get slightly fewer free BPs.

That is not the point. If you let's say, avoid the killer and play smart, you actually get punished for it. If you escape through the exit gates, but rarely interacted with the killer or unhooked someone, that is not even the objective, you get punished as well. This system is so flawed.

I'd disagree with the premise here since I wouldn't consider emblem tiers "punishment". And still, unless you absolutely stomp the killer (in which case you shouldn't pip because that was probably a matchmaking issue) I'd argue that avoiding the killer and rarely interacting with your teammates is a bad thing and it's not unreasonable to not reward that with a pip. In an ideal and perkless world, all survivors would spend about equal amounts of time repairing, chasing, saving, etc. If you're avoiding interacting with other players, that probably means your teammates are interacting with the killer more, which means they are likely to get removed from the game early. You don't necessarily need to bait the killer into a chase just because you haven't been hooked yet, but you should definitely be playing more aggressive and less stealthy if you haven't been chased yet in a game.
That said, I do agree that emblems don't do a great job of reflecting how well you played a given match. To your point about unhooking in particular, it might actually be smarter to let your teammate get saves whenever possible because they're running We'll Make It / BT, for example, but the emblem system would punish you for not getting saves yourself. All the more reason not to care about pipping! It's not like tweaking the Unbroken emblem would be enough to fix that system.
