Autodidact should increase skillcheck chance
I am consistently only getting Autodidact to 3 stacks. Why is that? I'm literally yelling at my monitor to give me a skillcheck because I want to get another stack. I am getting 0 value out of this perk.
My proposed idea is that Autodidact should increase your chance to get a skillcheck. That's all. Maybe by 50-100%.

I don't think that's a good change. Still depends a lot on luck which is awful for a perk.
In a discussion I posted this:
Now you have at the beggining, -10% progression penalty when hitting a skillcheck. For every skillcheck you gain a token that grants +20% bonus progression. You can only have 3 tokens now.
This way you are able to get almost the same benefit (30%), but with -2 skillchecks.

Lets just guarantee an extra skillcheck in the middle of each heal, once per heal. Would make the perk less RNG dependent.

i think this is a solid buff. you not getting more than 2 stacks pretty much means that the perk hindered you

Yeah, but right now the luck is literally working against the user. It's better off at least working in its favor. I feel like 3 tokens and +20% is better but almost makes the perk? A bit too good? Not sure, but I can see where you're coming from.
Right now I'm getting 0 - 2 skill checks per heal, and two or three heals. Therefore, with this idea, with three heals, I'd be guaranteed 3 tokens, meaning the perk will not help me at all because at the point where it's supposed to start helping me I'll either be dead or escaped. If this is the case it awards not going gens and prolonging the game.

If you want faster heals in every heal use Botany Knowledge. Autodidact is supposed to be a lategame perk, even a single survivor having it in a coordinated team near completely removes healing pressure in lategame. Its main issue is how RNG dependent it is and how some games you fully heal 1-2 people with no skillchecks. It would be a completely fine perk if we just fixed that RNG, it doesn't need any buffs.

The main issue is that its RNG dependent. To get rid of this issue, you make it less dependent on chance (or at least make the chance in the survivor's favor). That's my idea.
Botany knowledge is fine but quite frankly I see it as a boring perk. Autodidact is fun because you can watch yourself go from 0 to 100 in healing, and that 100 is way above what BK can get you. Again, I see where you're coming from, but I just feel like it can't hurt.

almost the same benefit? there is quite a difference between 30% autofilled progress and 50%
with second, you are pretty much done ocne you get the skillcheck at 5 stacks, with 30% you get a boost but have enough time and probably need the second skillcheck. and still the problem that you might not get a single skillcheck. I think it should probably get a whole new mechanic like BNPs

Increasing skillcheck chance wouldn't really fully solve the issue, you'd still be left with heavy RNG influence.
I'd rather go for either:
1) Healing a survivor for one health state grants a token
Or
2) After healing for 3 seconds, press the active ability button to force a skillcheck. 30 second cooldown.
