The Continued Ignorance of Performance Issues Continues to Hamper Player Fun

I even have some recordings of my own on PC, but it is just me getting low frames... on low graphics...

But my PC is not bad either which shows how bad it is. While the game freezing doesn't happen on PC, it just runs poorly and gives us low framerates. It isn't just consoles either, it's all platforms.

Specs:

• Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-9750H CPU @ 2.60GHz 2.59 GHz
• 16.0 GB (15.8 GB usable)
• GTX1660 ti max Q

macmillian and autohaven in particular, but sometimes in the other maps as well. All maps actually.

Update: It has gotten pretty bad now, frame drops are now much more frequent and I am starting to experience freezing every once in a while. My PC may not be god-tier, but it is still pretty good (at least I am pretty sure it is, not exactly a savant in tech). I shouldn't even be experiencing this, no one should. What is the point of bringing out new content if your game doesn't even work properly for most of the playerbase?

This is also part of why is consolers rant about that unfulfilled goal of 60fps minimum for ALL PLATFORMS. Not just for our experience to improve but all of us.

Like Pulsar said, we deserve to know if they have abandoned us so we can do the same.

2080 TI 10900k here 64 gb ram. I still get frame dips and it's the only game I get frame dips on lol. Low graphics too

Holy #########. First off, nice rig! Secondly, welp, I think I've heard enough. Even high-end gamers are struggling on running the game.

Seriously, everytime DH happens its much stronger on console because of this #########.

And lets not even talk about being hit with a status effect like Sloppy as a survivor, the game acts like its gonna die.

I am waiting for optimization since I started playing but now I get it. It won't happen.

Best I can wait for is PS5 restock since cross progression to PC is not an option either.

I don't have video but as a ps4 player I'm pretty tired of the FPS drops when playing killer or survivor. The fact I can tell a killer is running sloppy butcher because my game freezes when someone gets hit across the map is terrible. It's only getting worse too, new triggers for fps drops are popping up each patch while old triggers don't get fixed.

The lack of communication on performance, just vague responses ("we passed it on to the team" or "we'll look into it" or "we won't specify what we fixed, just see if you notice improvements after updates") is why when I finally get a ps5 I won't bother installing DBD. Not bothering installing a 5 year old game that is poorly optimized and there's no indication it will receive any optimization. I've seen ps5 and Xbox series x players start mentioning performance issues after last couple patches, only matter of time before back in same boat because performance isn't a top priority.

Last DLC I bought was Silent Hill, I stopped putting money into the game because I'm not seeing it be used to make the game better. My husband, brother and nephew all used to play and buy every DLC - my husband and nephew have completely stopped playing, my brother still plays but has stopped buying DLC. At this point for us to consider buying DLC again we would have to see some real improvements to performance on ps4, no more empty promises.

These issues were prevalent before the newer consoles came out, many before the graphic updates too. A full and proper optimization has never happened, one that would benefit us all.

Also the newer consoles may not even be available to everyone yet, plus their additional cost may not be doable for most people either. We're mainly asking them to deliver what was said to be an obtainable goal over two years ago now.

This is another major reason crossplay with PC is just bad for console players. You have inferior systems trying to perform against better systems. You run into all sorts of issues with desync & latency on top of optimization, performance issues & Mouse and keyboard controls.

The difference between playing against survivors with X-Play on and off is night & day. The only issue with having X-Play off is you have bigger queue times & come up against SWF teams a lot more. It's almost laughable how easy it is to play against solo survivors with X-Play off when you're used to playing against PC players as a console killer.

Optimization between platforms would be extremely difficult when you take into account all the variables that effect gameplay.

I've had terrible fps issues on PC since Twins came out, never had a problem before that. Every patch/hotfix since twins i pray they fix it, but they don't, it just gradually gets worse.

more and more people are reporting it in the Optimization section but they get no official replies. I've tried every option i can find in the replies (120 fps, changing steam launch options, verifying files, reinstalling completely, in game options, nvidia settings) and nothing works. I'm now at the point where my game stutters for a second when i vault a window and its starting to become unplayable.

and since i noticed they're adding motion blur on the latest ptb... i'm not expecting a fix anytime soon until the majority of people can't even play the game without some kind of £5k super computer that can handle whatever the hell they're doing behind the scenes.

As a console player, I'm so ######### sick of the constant freezes and lag spikes.

Like, I literally had to give up entirely on trying to play The Twins because the game lags every time I charge a pounce as Victor.
