Two different survivor modes
Not really different, but:
You click to play survivor & are taken to a new menu. You are faced with "solo lobby" or "friends lobby"
If you select solo, the game places you in a restricted solo queue for random matchmaking. The game plays as standard.
If you want to SWF, you can enter friends lobby & play together. This mode means generators take 40% more time to complete than standard.

So if I want to play with one friend, I basically give up to escape ?

My friends are all bad at the game, lol! 🤣

No. You are matched with others in SWF matchmaking mode.
Forgot to say voice chat comes as standard in this mode (but can be muted by players as they see fit)

Mods - if you're going to move or close something then please make a post stating why.
This was intended for general discussion between forum users & not structured feedback for developers.

This is an awful idea. It will just make people wanting to play with friends not wanting to and thats a majority of the playerbase gone.

But what if my friends or myself aren’t good? That handicap isn’t necessary

You practice and earn your victories. You have a huge advantage being able to communicate, so this is the trade off

You're gaining a large advantage by having open comms with your friends. It balances out the game

What happens if it’s a good nurse? They don’t need that advantage

I get its an advantage but there are better ways than doing this idea. No offense but this idea is really bad. It will cause people who play SWF to most likely quit the game and therefore a large bit of the playerbase is gone. There are just better ideas.
