Why is ranking up so hard?
I swear bhvr rewards you more for playing awful. I just had a round where I did 4 out of 5 gens, which is not my usual okay style. I escaped and de-pipped lol. My teammates who were getting hooked and downed got more points but did nothing for objective. Just something I noticed. Is it that bad for killer too?

You have to do more then just gens.
Unhook and heal teammates.
Loop and juke the killer get chased.

It really isnt that hard to rank up, that goes for both sides
All the issues related to balance can all be brought back to how easy it is to rank up, you have potatoes on both sides reaching red ranks when they clearly shouldn't be that high up. Increasing the difficulty to rank up would do nothing other than help the game

It’s so hard to pip nowadays because killers tunnel and camp all the time. Something needs to be done about this bullshit. Eventually everyone will stop playing and killers won’t have any survivors to play against

It's more "proffitable" to get chased by the killer for big ammount of time and get maybe 1 save to pip than just sit on gens.

You are just a bad Survivor and the game takes note. :) The truth is that the game expects you to be well-rounded. If you want to maximize your Pips and Blood Points you need to do a little of everything, i.e. chases, altruism, objectives, etc. If you aren't out there helping you team in all aspects, you will advance very slowly.

They're legitimate methods that aren't breaking the rules, have perk counters, less effective against good players with good looping, and the effectiveness depends on the map you're given.

Not sure, it was pretty obvious. You say you get camped and tunneled EVERY game, just don't let it happen.

You must be new but you will get to the point where it is easy. Even as a solo survivor, if you play enough you will get to red ranks fast. Unless you are ignoring emblems completely.
You need to be aware of what is the minimum req for pipping and do a bit of everything. It is not hard at all. Yeah you can have bad games and depip sometimes but you should pip more often than depip.
Getting to red as killer is not hard either when you have some experience.
You will get there if you play enough. I have long breaks from the game and even then I manage to get from rank 20 to 1 just by playing the game when I return.

If you know that ranks doesn't matter why do you care so much? Additionally if it was so hard to rank up you wouldn't be red ranks since all you face are campers and tunnelers, strange how that works.

According to pretty much every post you make, EVERY game you play is an easy 4K for the killer at 5 gens. Having been on the survivor side of a game or two like that, no one pips in those situations, so you would think you'd know the answer to your own question.
Or you could be exaggerating about how your rounds actually go. Or about your rank. Or both. Who knows.
For people reading this thread who are actually looking for serious insight, as others have said, sitting on gens isn't enough. You need some form of altruism and interaction with the killer in order to pip up at higher ranks, Red Ranks in particular.

I always love it when a new crop of Potatoes comes up and start frothing at the mouth about "PUNISH THEM!" For what, doing their job? :) The roles to be played are right there in the name, i.e. Killer and Survivor. It isn't the Killer's job to protect you, make it easy on you, or play in predictable, ritualistic way. It is YOUR job and that of your fellow Survivors to protect you. They can steal chases, take protection hits, bring the appropriate Perks, sabotage hooks, do shoulder rescues, and even trade hooks with you. The DEV have made it clear time and time again, that they are not going to punish Killers for doing their job anymore than they are going to punish Survivors for body blocking or Bully Squads. There are in-game solutions to your problems. There will be no Deus Ex Machina from the DEV. Take ownership of your problems and solve them yourself.
On that note, I would say that 90% the time you aren't even being Tunneled or Camped. I have found Survivors tend to identify it incorrectly and in a self serving way. Until you take responsibility for your failures, you will have a hard time improving at this game. Killers adapt to what Survivors do. This is a PvP game and predators react to prey. Survivors lead the dance, or have the power to do so. While Survivors are still new and inexperienced they tend toward selfish and/or clueless behaviors which makes the Killer's job easier. As they learn to take advantage of their power in teamwork and coordination, it is the Killer who is behind the eight ball.

If you're on maps like Badham 1-5, The Game, Groaning Storehouse, or Gas Heaven. Those few seconds will become much longer.

I'm completely the opposite and find it too easy to rank up, you don't have to do much between rank 20 to rank 12. Rank 11 to rank 8 you just have to hook everyone once and maybe one sacrifice. The rest of purple 1 sacrifice, kick a few gens, pallets and breakable walls, hit a few people and maybe someone on 2 hooks. Red ranks is harder.
That's my experience with killer ranking up.

The killers objective is to kill, not make their opponents experience miserable. Stop using it as and excuse. If you ignore everyone else and go for just 1 person then you don’t know how to play the game. It’s not your objective to play in a bitchy way. It’s also not the survivors objective to flashlight click, teabag and be bad sports. Learn the game.

Not quite sure what you mean, but pipping in this game is extremely easy. Doing just gens isn't a reason to pip. Anyone can do a gen. Theres 4 categories should invest into all 4 pretty easily for a pip.

Actually the Killer can't make you happy or miserable. Only you can do that. Unreasonable and unrealistic expectations is the quickest route to frustration and unhappiness. Ditch those things. My skills aren't in question, although I will be happy to show them to you in a custom game. It is clear you could use some tutoring. Your skills, however, are the problem. You don't have any yet. The complaints and tone you take is something we have heard a thousand times (if not more) from those who have not really cut their teeth yet. You clearly don't know what you are doing and rather than take responsibility for YOUR part in why you are getting killed, you try to scapegoat other Players or the game. Yes, the Killer is out to get you. That is kind of the point. If you aren't up for that challenge, why the hell are you here?
I play both Survivor (Solo most of the time) and Killer. I face the same opponents and tactics that you do statistically. Why is it that I am not having your problems? Why is it thousands of people, even as you read this, are doing just fine. There are those who rise to the occasion and those that curse their lot in life. I'm really not trying to upset you or get a good burn in. I am trying to help you. I am telling you the same things someone once told me. Until you accept that you are the problem and only you can solve it, you aren't going to get very far. Nobody takes your little posts seriously except for other serial complainers. If you are here for a pity party, you are in the wrong place. There are games out there that are NOT PvP and games that will not frustrate you. If you aren't enjoying this one, go find your bliss. Why torture yourself? If you stay, it behooves you to actually take steps to get better at the game. Wasting your breath/text on me isn't going to do that.

It's pretty obvious, based on all his threads, that he's from that small group of survivors that thinks the game is really unfair towards them and killers are overpowered. Despite the fact that he's already said his favorite e-celeb is Ayrun, the 8k hour survivor main who does nothing but run killers for 5 gens every game and utterly humiliate them with flashlight save after flashlight save.
All you need to know about van: He's bad, he's unintelligent, and his bait is weak. Case in point, please observe one of his more recent posts where he says Dead Hard needs to be buffed and Killers need to be nerfed to 4.2 m/s. (That's 105%, Tier 1 Myers speed)
