If SBMM is going to be this sweaty show whos in swfs
I'm tired of facing comp teams and op swfs. literally 4 games in a row, I'm ok with testing how good I am against 1. Absolutely infuriating to play against these teams in the games current unbalanced state. Show whos in swfs so im not constantly facing them. Not to mention how arrogant and nasty this community is at that level and you defend this crap by not doing anything about it.
One bad night of playing otherwise my win ratio is relatively high against solo q and non comp swfs. Don't tell me I don't know because i've played enough to know the difference.
A lot of people are getting caught up on the phrase "comp team". In this context I mean swfs that are trying to be. This doesnt have to be actual comp teams to make this game a completely unbalanced mess. It is a dumb way to dismiss the argument being presented.
I'm not even suggesting a change to swfs just to see who is. Although I am in the camp that soimething should be done about them in general.
Someone did suggest something interesting when they said that they would implement lobby doge penalties. How about if the killer dodges their mmr takes a hit? That way they have a less likely chance of playing against these teams.

Your not constantly facing "comp swfs". You might be facing good swf teams but the difference in them and comp teams is massive.
I don't believe it's healthy for the game telling who's in a swf or not.

Regardless of the skill level that differentiates an actual comp swf or a swf trying to be one that is what they were. This is a dumb argument that disregards the original post by trying to discredit my perspective. These swfs are what makes this game unbalanced and it needs to be addressed.

If they did show it, it needs to be after the game. The queue times are sus enough as is.

The chief concern in showing a SWF in the lobby is them being dodged into oblivion, which is what you wish to do I think. Or worse yet their long af queue times get them matched with any killer available, often a rookie.
When they last put out stats (over 2rys ago now) it showed half of all survs in at least a two-man team. With how wonderful solo queue is these days there's no way the number of SWF hasn't grown since then.
So you're talking about most of the surv playerbase here is going to be put on blast and dodged repeatedly, far more than they likely are right now. Think through what you propose will do to the community.

It's a rough guess though unless they make it obvious through names or friends.
I'm not making a dumb argument. I'm just telling you there's a difference in comp teams and normal swfs. Comp teams will intentionally let people die in order to give the killer as little hooks as possible. They will also pre-drop most of the pallets on the map which I bet most of your swfs didn't do. Comp teams play by tournament rules (I.e not allowed the same perks).
The balance of this game does need addressed but people need to understand the game properly before trying to say they are facing comp players or not. Swf is the strongest thing in this game if played with no rules.

Survivor que times are instant and if they want to play easy mode in the easier role i see no issues with them waiting for a killer that wants to deal with it

By "comp team" I'm more meaning teams that are trying to be. I do not care if they are as effective as actual comp teams. These swfs are still a massive issue to the balance of the game

I think they can suffer to wait until they find a killer that wants to deal with it. They are playing at a massive advantage already so they can wait for a sweaty killer to want to play with them. I will even face swfs from time to time willingly but the consistency that I'm seeing it during SBMM is dumb.

I used to really hate swf players or solo type swf who seem to know what's going on all the time.
Maybe last night was a one off, possibly didn't get many swf, but sbmm is actually giving me teams around my skill level. I may win a few matches then get a few really tough teams or solo players but I know now that it won't be long before I can get more than 4 hooks again. If it keeps up like last nights games then I'm impressed so far.
I used to want an swf indicator but I now fear if I dodge their lobbies I may miss out on some chill, pleasant yet not easy, matches.

But that does't happen. Once a team is waiting for like 15-20min the new MMR, and the old system, widen the skill gap and after like 25 min throw in the next available killer no matter their skill. The devs have always considered queue times when coming up with their changes, not wanting to punish anyone in either role.

We have never seen what would happen if they did this, there is no way you would ever know that ques would be that long. At a minimum testing having it on would at least let us see what kind of environment it would bring. They've been testing mmr or sbmm for a year. they can test this too.

Yea that Devour caught us off guard lol watching the stream I guess?
Faced a Spirit with an identical build, same skin around 8.30 and in a 2 man we got 3 escapes (I made a massive mistake which was the only kill). Must've been before she started streaming.
Apparently we faced 3/4 different known streamers last night. I had no clue who any of them but my mate knows most of those streamers.

Did you know that
if Machmaking works and it matches 4 individual good solo players that they are able to play high level games without any communication?
Probably not bc matchmaking wasn't working at all the past 5 years.

this is repeated argument trying to diminish the effectiveness of a swf. communication vs no communication is very noticeable at high level play. I am aware when i'm going against a swf. They know tricks im trying to pull after 1 time of using it when in solo q it would have worked more then once. They know my location at all times. Theres even a signifigant difference in gen times.

I run against teams with tags frequently. Just because of that, i would not assume they are competetive. There are not many comp teams out there and even less in public.

Welp, but those regular SWF teams are definitly beatable. I hope the MMR will work one day and everybody will be matched on his skill level. Then nobody wont have to worry about super sweaty teams if you are a chill player.

I'll go one further if a team were to beat me like that and i knew they were solo q i would have way less of an issue with it. Id be more impressed and wont feel cheated

Even if those teams aren't a "comp team" they will try to play like them and a swf that trys to play sweaty at that level is at an unfair advantage. I'm beyond expecting this game to balance for them I just dont want to deal with them all the time. I feel like thats a small thing to ask

You could add an swf/solo player icon to the match result screen after a game but doing it pre game would force the devs to enable the "lobby dodge"-penalty. Beside that, knowing it's a swf would create a bubble. Were only top tier killer would be fine with playing against them. I don't have to go further on. That's just not an option.
It's not an option for survivors to know which killer they go against and it's not an option for killers to know if they go against a swf or solo q.
I remember ranks being shown in the lobby and people were dodging increasingly often. Won't be thing, ever.

Whats wrong with those swfs going against the sweatier killers? Killers dont have a difinitive advantage over other killers like swf does over solo q. Knowing what killer it is a completely different thing. That will break the game. Because no one will go against nurse/spirit. Thats different then a team that has an unfair advantage over killer and solo q. There is no defending this. Whether they do it or not is another issue. At a minimum they should test it. They tested mmr for the past year they can test this too.

SWF has no place in a Ranked Playlist or as is now the case a Competitive MatchMaking system. SWF destroys MatchMaking.
That's like having Call of Duty pro teams in public Lobbies. Public lobbies have no chance. Public players are the lowest denominator in terms of skill, for every game. Having these people play against someone who is doing everything they can to play optimally and win makes no sense. Even when CoD puts Pubstompers vs actual Pros, the Pros win, because the mentality and preparation of Pros is not just playing, it's knowing every single detail that there is to know, about everything. Pubstompers are just above the Regular skill level but without turning Pros they can't compete against Pros.
Not every SWF in DbD is Pro/Comp but SWF compared to Solo is a world of difference, think about Builds. Builds from an SWF standpoint and a Solo standpoint are completly different and offer far more coverage in all aspects of the game. A Solo can try this but without knowing who they are playing with, what they are bringing and what they are doing as a match progresses it becomes really hard for a Solo to be as effective as they can.
The better each Solo is the better the survivor team gets, which is the point of MMR and the results speak for itself, MMR is helping SoloQ Survivors the most. However every SWF benefits from SoloQ help since each SWF member is also considered a Solo. SWF's benefit from everything a Solo benefits. 2 Man high MMR SWF is very likely to get 2 high MMR randoms, meaning those 2 randoms will know how to play the game. That boosts the SWF aswell.
The is heavily designed towards Survivors since it's the bigger and most vocal audience but BHVR has failed to keep Balance between what they need and what the game, more than killers, needs. Killers need help but simply buffing killers doesn't solve RNG problems, performance problems. Map design problems. Maps are heavily survivor sided but even so the maps are not fun to play, you're just abusing loops because you know you can. They need to focus on making the game better not 1 side better. Some killers need changes, that would be deemed nerfs, and some killers need really big buffs or full reworks to be interesting and fun to play.
I can give GF as example. He needs help, his reveal mechanic is the biggest weakness any killer has in the game. His 30 second Nightshroud cooldown wouldn't be a problem if he could stay in Nightshroud longer than 3 seconds... 32 meter radius of weakness is too much, especially for a stealth killer. He can even get out stealthed because survivors crouch more and can hide while having LOS on him. AS GF if you crouch behind something you only see what you're crouching behind until you lean. How is this killer fine as is and hasn't been changed yet?
I'm an idiot GF main, he sucks but the reason i play him is because he is the only killer with a gameplay that is my identity. Tell me a stealth game, i've played, i've been playing them since i was 7 and in DbD GF is the closest thing to a stealth killer. Pig isn't a stealth killer, she can't chase anyone while in stealth, she loses too much speed and visibility, Wraith isn't a stealth killer, a stealth killer doesn't anounce his presence before attacking and neither does a stealth character has to stop being stealthy to attack, the reason a stealth character is stealthy is because they can attack unanounced, and Myers definetly isn't a stealth killer, a guy whose power is standing there squinting at survivors at a height over 2 meters and the inability to hide whatsoever. Myers's stealth is Sractched Mirror on Lery's, Hawkins or Midwhich. GF is the only killer that is stealthy, he is mobile, as in he can move, his stealth doesn't mean being stationary and can attack from stealth and he can plan who to attack ( stalking isn't always possible yes but the concept is there, he can prep victims for an attack). As Mindgames go GF wins aswell, he has the ability to lose Red Stain and still attack unanouncedand crouch and he does this faster than everyone else.
What can GF do against SWF? absolutly nothing. It's riddiculous, as soon as 1 survivors knows where he is, everyone knows and that kills stealth and that makes revealing him that much easier since survivors can use 3rd person perspective and just reveal him easily from basicly anywhere before he can see them.

I dont know, i dont have big issues with those SWFs. Most SWFs are not that great. If they are to good for you, the sbmm is actually doing you a favour and you should be glad it is coming (at the current form i dont see it working at all, but again, we can hope it will be sucessful at some point).
Just take it easy, take the loss and hope the system will rank you against less sweaty teams in the new furture.

How would you ever know? You don't know they are in a swf if they are bad. There is no evidence. The only thing i have to go off of is the solo survivor experience and my teams and my killer games are still just conjecture. However I would argue i have more evidence on my end then you do. Why claim the swfs that are playing for fun are not that good if you cant prove you are going against said swfs?

I was trying to play chill games but instead got back to back sweaty as ######### teams. Thats the whole reason for this post. I wanted to not sweat and was ok with a few games dropping me down but the last eam i faced was the strongest of the 4. The game is fundamentally busted and the matchmaking is still flawed. Let killers see swfs

I always check their profiles. I am curious who i play against and how many hours they have. And if they are in a group. If i see they are some 500ish hours i usually play more chill as i would play against 6K hours swf.
And saying that i dont have a problem with swf indicates that i dont have a problem with survivors in general. Does not really matter if they are in the same team or not.
For sure they have an advantage if they have voice communication but that does not mean i will loose the game.

I also check profiles. But hours dont mean anything anymore. One of the teams i went against i thought were not one of these sweaty teams because of the hours. They had 100. They were smurfing and admitted it in post game.

it's not irony at all. Those are killers built into the game. A swf has coms and it gives a massive advantage over both killer and solo q survivors. People who dont want to deal with this shouldnt have to. Like I said to others I wouldnt always dodge nor is this about dodging. If i am beaten by a team and they are solo q I will be impressed if they are a swf I'll know why i was beaten or at least there was an aspect that was unfair against me.

One of my friends has been playing this game for a while, and is...decent, but not great. Myself and another friend recently (within the past month and a half) joined him and started playing as well. We play together a lot, a 3-person SWF. We suck. We regularly get 4K'd. We honestly do TRY, but we're just not good. We try to get better, and we try to do objectives and help each other, and try to pick perks that have SOME cohesion. But we still get wrecked by good to great killers.
And your attitude to us is, "######### you, you can wait in a 25 minute queue getting endlessly dodged until someone feels like dealing with a team of friends who wants to try."
That's kinda messed up.

I'm not trying to say you can't care about this, I just genuinely don't understand why you do. If you want to care about it, then you know, fine. I don't get it, but I'm not you.
The fact of the matter is BHVR has already shown they have no intentions of punishing people who are playing with their friends. They put the mechanic in the game a few months after it came out. They have literal voice channels in their own Discord server for SWF.
If Killer's get to see who's in an SWF so they can dodge any game that isn't the easily stompable Solo's, Survivors should see who the killer is. RIght? That's literally only fair. Unless, of course, you're extremely biased.
