BHVR only thinking about the survivor side in this Spirit nerf
Comments

It really doesn’t when you’re at a jungle Jim or TL wall. You can mind game because IW robs information, exactly how Spirit did it. Now, Iron Will users against Spirit will be just as problematic. Iron Will users might have their own stand still “mind game” lol.

Its never needed a nerf.
Its a strong perk that remove a whole ONE tool from the arsenal of the Spirit. I already named them above.
Its not the end of the world.
3 -
It’s insanely powerful with no downsides and takes no skill or thought from the survivors like a lot of other survivor perks do. It needs changes.

All she needed was a direct phasing animation added, for the babies in the back that don't know when she phases her animation RESETS

Agitation takes no skill or thought.
Corrupt Intervention takes no skill or thought.
Ruin takes no skill or thought.
Deadlock takes no skill or thought.
Shall I go on?
4 -
Wow. 4k posts in one year. That's crazy.
1 -
Is Agitation a super strong perk?
Does Corrupt Intervention not allow strategies that the killer has to think ahead and does it not deactivate after two minutes?
Does it not take thought to know when to pressure a specific gen with Ruin and does it have a risk of being broken the first two seconds of a match?
Deadlock is a weird one but it’s not super busted like Iron Will is.

And I joined the forums on October 24, 2020, so less than a year technically. I’m very dedicated to this game lol.

If Iron Will were to ever go, I'd imagine this would be the response.

You act as though survivors don't use their brain when using Iron Will. As though the perk is strong even if the survivor holds W. Which isn't the case.
Your claim that Iron Will requires no skill is wrong. Its useless if you don't make good plays with it, and if they make a good play... their perk worked as intended and you're upset that you got punked and didn't predict an Iron Will play from a user that you know is running it.
And your notes on Ruin and Corrupt are just wrong. You'd be performing those strategies ANYWAY even if you didn't have those perks. So why you're acting like these somehow fundamentally change how you play is pretty funny.

LMAO

I just realized I spelled "Sprint Burst" as "Spring Burst."
Uuggggh.....

Even if Corrupt or Ruin didn’t require skill, don’t act like Iron Will does either. Also, what downside does Iron Will have that warrants being a strong perk when Corrupt and Ruin have risks? I’ll wait.

>It only affects you when you're injured.
>It doesn't affect things like scratch marks and blood which can be tracked.
>Its useless if your caught in the open.
>It only affects you. So if there's a weak link on the team you can't carey them.
>Its only useful at things like large walled tiles, which can still be mind gamed.
You're acting like its giving survivors free wins, when it sounds like you're just getting outplayed by a strategy that is signaled to you as soon as you injure someone.
4 -
Those are not weaknesses, those are things the perk doesn’t do lmao. Might as well say Surveillance doesn’t affect totems therefore it has a downside.
5 -
What's the different between Spirit and Wraith after that? Oh Spirit cannot see!
4 -
These changes seem fine but it does make iron will even more problematic. Aside from sound bug, I think making iron will timed like lucky break would be idea. Strong but risks for taking up a perk slot for only 90sec use. Has to be used wisely. Seems fair to me.

It'd honestly just be easier to swap the percentage values between Iron Will and No Mither. Make it so Iron Will is never completely silent, but No Mither is at the cost of being broken the entire round.
1 -
That could be ok, I guess. Depends on what “not all the time” means as I don’t know the current No Mither values for how frequently you’re silent.
0 -
No Mither caps out at 50% (0/25/50) while injured, but you're injured the entire match. Iron Will caps out at 100% (50/75/100).
0 -
So No Mither is basically:
5 seconds making grunts of pain, 5 seconds not making any?
or…
Grunts of pain volume is reduced to 50%?
0 -
Grunts of pain reduced by x% on both.
0 -
Gotcha. I mean I’d take that idea over nothing.
0 -
It'd still have to be rebalanced a bit, but it makes more sense that the higher risk rewards more protection than the lower risk (technically no risk, but you know what I mean lol).

All spirit needed was a slight animation when she started to use her power, so survivors could tell if they were paying attention. Instead, she is going back to that bugged PTB where she was literally one of the weakest killers in the game, because survivors would just throw down a pallet and wait to listen for her to go around. Now with easy mode, since she kicks up dust!
What I can't stand is how they try to say it "Adds to the skill needed to play as and against Spirit". No. It literally doesn't do either. It REMOVES most of the skill needed to play against her, because you get audio and visual clues. It's like adding a big red circle around Waldo and saying it adds to the skill of finding him. Since you cannot change or cover up directional effects like sound, it also doesn't add to the Spirit's skill requirement, because there is nothing you can possibly do to change their ability to listen. It is entirely on the survivors to determine the chase AGAIN.
7 -
Sound to make tracking her vague. 👌
At the same time adding visual tracking which will pinpoint her movements. 😱
Where is the adjustment to her skill ceiling? This is just making things more difficult on the killer and removes any mindgame advantage from her power.
4 -
THIS. Who at BHVR makes changes and conjures up these developer updates? They clearly don’t read what they’ve written…
Spirit’s skill ceiling has been increased?? What can we do to hit that ceiling? All I see is more hand-holding for survivors to counter one of the few viable killers.

every argument I've seen trying to rationalize this takes notice of spirit's speed. Let me remind everyone that the nurse blinks on top of you instantly, can phase through objects, and can see. And nurses still have a hard time. You're telling me spirit, who can't see, has to charge her power, and cannot phase through objects, is going to be okay?

this update is perfect in my opinion and I play both roles equally, actually maining spirit along with oni. Cant wait, I dont agree that its survivor sided at all, as she is still a super strong killer and this will make her much more interesting to play

I get that BHVR didn't like the 50/50 mind games that the spirit could put you in, but that's literally what her character is. Her ability has always been to obfuscate information and to use that to land hits with. She's a very slow killer that you need to use your ability with to get hits with. Did they initially overload her kit, absolutely. Is she currently S tier right along nurse, yes. But they've taken all of those situations and they've not made each situation incredibly survivor sided. To the point where you should not be able to land a hit using her ability against a decent survivor. Give me a situation where you would want to use her ability in chase. I'll wait.

They should revert Iron Will and Stridor as it was, now that there is the nerf. That's my opinion. I hate Spirit, but all of this is overkill.
0 -
I like the change but I think that she should get more info like actually being able to see survivors as a killer instinct bubble. Iron will already works against every killer except for Legion who has that killer instinct and I hate survivor perks that counter a killer’s entire ability or most of it like Ghostface and Wraith vs Spine Chill or Dead Hard vs Trapper. Although one could argue she still has scratch marks and is still one of the strongest killers in the game despite it all. My boy Legion on the other hand…

Hope devs insta revert iron will- stridor thing if it Is needed.

yeah that part which is called "not fun" caused a lot of laughter for me because everything can be not fun. pathetic...

What are you trying to say?
1 -
her nerf is unjustified
0 -
her speed won't help you if survs see "the dust". all you will have to do is pre-drop pallets or jump over them if you see her dust clouds behind you.
1 -
What counterplay does it have in general tho?
0 -
Not everything has to be ######### tier like perks like wake up.
1 -
Iron will and lucky break, deception, quick and quiet, dance with me , rollback net code on pallets
1 -
Your severely overestimating the tools this leaves her
0 -
👀. Specifically, injured survivors still leave scratch marks and blood pools.
0 -
Blood isn't visible for Spirit unless she has an add-on and scratch marks have a delay so they can't be relied on for precise tracking.
4 -
That should apply to the killer powers as well. Michael Myers Tier III with addon sends hugs. The same with perks that just because they are equipped easily and permanent break loops, and they are not even hex perks, such as Bamboozle, Fire Up, Lightborn, etc.
0 -
They added a addon that works exactly like the nurses reversed blink so you STILL can fake them out. Why are you complaining now? Because you can't sit still and get a free hit?
1 -
It’s literally a purple add on that’s labeled “very rare” for a reason. Also I’m happy Spirit is finally getting changes but what I’m upset about is how they didn’t address Iron Will. Iron Will is going to be a huge problem against nerfed Spirit.
0 -
If you run stridor doesn't that counter it? I usually use it on spirit for the fact I was under the assumption that it did. Was I wrong? Purple addon seems to much maybe green or yellow but not purple.
0 -
I’m assuming you took a long break from the game? Stridor got nerfed to where it doesn’t counter Iron Will in patch 5.1.0. Even if it didn’t get nerfed, should Spirit players be forced to bring in a perk to counter a perk that a survivor may or may not have? Survivors said the same thing about Iron Will with Spirit.
1 -
You asked what counterplay Iron Will had “in general”. Spirit phasing is one instance among a roster of two dozen killers.
And unless I’m mistaken, injured survivors with Iron Will still make footstep noises. Is that correct?
0 -
No one ever forced Spirit players to run Stridor; it was just the no brainer thing to do to counter a meta survivor perk against a meta killer. You still choose to run it or not, just like survivors with Iron Will.
And I could completely flip your argument on its head. Should every survivor have to run Small Game to track totems in case the killer has NOED? Unbreakable in the case of Twins or Oni? And on and on.
