Saboteur cooldown activates when hook hasn't been sabotaged
The perk, Saboteur's cooldown activates even if you don't actually use it. If you are interrupted while attempting to sabotage a hook or you just accidently let go of the mouse button for a second, then the cooldown still activates. So if you miss-click then you are stuck with a 75 second cooldown and the hook still remains untouched. This is really unfair to be completely honest, and would like the cooldown only to occur when the hook has actually been sabotaged. If you read this, I hope you take this into consideration. Thanks!

Yep. I stopped using this perk the very moment I noticed this. Its completely unfair, as well as a long list of other things in this game for survivors.

I agree, it doesn't make sense. I have had so many times i accidentally started sabotaging a hook or i just let go too soon and the perk will go on cooldown. I hope BHVR will make it so it only goes on cooldown when you finished the sabo action.

Yeah it’s pretty dumb. I could understand if it’s like this because they don’t want you to start a sabotage ahead of time just to discourage the killer from going there or be able to do it after getting hit (it’s 2.5 seconds w/ saboteur so you’d be able to get it off) but in that case they could just make the cooldown 10 seconds after a failed sabotage.
Or better yet, just don’t have a cooldown at all until you actually break the hook.

Survivors should be pretty proficient at holding M1 for gens already. I don't see what makes Sabo an issue? Use it when you can commit.

Right... because we know how every single situation is going to turn out. You made a non argument to something that should be a non issue. This perk should not go on cool down unless it was actually used.

There's also a matter of misclick. If I unhook a survivor and want to heal them it can sometimes choose sabo over healing. So now a tap of saboing and I'm now on cooldown.

Equip Saboteur once you'll understand LOL.

I was about to say the same thing. This is the one annoyance about it, if I unhook and go to heal, occasionally it snaps onto the hook, not the survivor, which I ofc let go, and then lose my sabo.
Maybe if it was changed to only go on cooldown when you get to 30%~50% or something.

If you're curious why, it's because when actively sabotaging, the killer is unable to hook. Without the cooldown, the hook would/could be sabo'd faster than a killer without STBFL can recover, a feat otherwise only obtainable with Alex's toolbox.
You can disagree with it but that's the reason.

Going for CD makes 0 difference about sabo speed. The perk got recently buffed and right now if you can get perfect timing, you will be able to sabotage the hook right as you get 2nd hit (which leaves you no chance for DH or any other save baring mettle of man and nothing else in the game - provided we are not talking about more speed perks like leader).
But there's no difference in this regards in current sabo and proposed sabo. Getting hit interupts you and you start again so you gain no extra speed
