My proposal for a Dead Hard rework
My views on the current Dead Hard are the same as the general player base at this point, it needs changes, it's current state isn't balanced due to how much it can extend loops in the hands of a good survivor
However, i don't think it's current state can be balanced, we can tweak the numbers or remove the i-frames or whatever else, but nothing can change the simple fact that the distance you can get from Dead Hard is simply too good
So instead of nerfing the perk, it should be reworked into this
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Dead Hard
Activatable Perk
You'll go through hell to get your few friends out of a bad situation, When Injured, you can dash forward quickly to knock the survivor out of the killer's grasp
Press the Active Ability button while running within 5 metres of the killer to activate it
If you hit the killer during the dash, you will stun them for 5 seconds, causing any survivors the killer is carrying to fall out of their grasp
If you miss the killer, you will suffer from a 5% Hindered effect for 60/50/40 seconds
Causes the Exhausted status effect for 60/50/40 seconds, you do not recover from the Exhausted status effect while running
Edit: This perk can only be used once per Trial, suggested by @Marc_123
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Rather then making the perk a obnoxious chase extender, i instead think it should be one of only a handful of perks that let the survivors go on the offensive against the killer, with a suitable amount of risk (being slower and therefore easier to hit, as well as no i-frames) for a good reward (keeping your teammates alive longer)
It'll probably not happen, but i think that this is the best solution for Dead Hard, at any rate, it'll be less infuriating then it's current state
What do you guys think?

I think that would be even worse imo...

So instead of getting figuratively robbed a down by having them Press E to erase a mistake, you literally get robbed a down by them just running into you as the killer when you're actively carrying a survivor you caught to a hook...
Did you mean to write "less infuriating"? Because this seems like the exact opposite of less infuriating...

With this, the Perk is basically a Chase-Extender again. Because the Killer needs to chase the Survivor they already caught again.
IMO this is way worse than current Dead Hard. It is basically a better Flashlight-Save, just without a Flashlight. Or a Pallet-Save without a Pallet. And I dont think that hitting the Killer with the Dash is really hard.
I dont think that DH should be changed in the first place (as someone who does not even run it), but this is not the right way to do any change.

Make it a one time use. I start to like the idea.

Even as a one time use this would be the potential of 4 Rescues without any real Setup needed.

You had me in the first half there.
This must be a troll post but it's a good one. There's no way anyone would take this change and literally ever survivor would run that perk because that would be OP as hell XD

the idea is is that the survivor has to take a large risk in order to get a survivor off the killer's shoulder, they wouldn't have i-frames and would suffer from a pretty substantial slowdown or even getting downed if they mistime it or outright miss
It's not a perfect idea i realise, but i still think making it a offence-oriented saving tool would be better then the mistake erasing perk from hell that it currently is

So you want to make DH an instant save perk? Are people drunk?
Remove the distance and boom. Fix, it's not that hard...

OMG, killer mains sleep and waking up in the morning thinking of Dead Hard. So sad.

This would just kill the Perk. Maybe a Nurse or a Blight after a few Rushes would have a penalty due to a DH which only gives i-frames, but for every other Killer, the Cooldown for missing an attack would just be too short to actually get anything out of DH.

For bad players maybe yeah...

Can't wait for four survivors to chain stun me for twenty seconds.

I mean, not everyone is a godlike player like you with 110% escape rate, but the difference between going down or surviving with just I-frames is more luck than anything.
Are you really, really, really close to a Pallet or Window? You might survive.
Are you only close to a Pallet or Window? Yep, you go down.

Sorry we arent all bad players that cant use my brain to use perks for other reasons than the busted and easy use....
But sure whatever you say, I dont fancy wasting my time explaining everything to you. If you dont see the issues the distance creates and the all the uses iframes have you're part of the problem.
You just want easy second chance perks, noted.

I mean, I dont use DH to begin with. But hey, you do you.
You might enlighten me how iframes which dont do anything due to the short missed attack cooldown can do anything. Or, you assume that I run DH and want my "OP-Perk" not being nerfed.
0 -
I actually really like this, it would become a high risk high reward perk
0 -
Sure I have a DH post about iframes, go look you might learn stuff.
I just cba to try have a conversation with someone who tries to take the p out of actual factual evidence.
If you dont believe it fine, its true but you're entitled to your thoughts but as soon as you use it to take the p and clearly exaggerate it theres no point in a discussion.
I do find it funny how Escaping 3games and dying ONCE and sometimes Escaping 2 and dying once is so unrealistic but you literally have multiple survivor streams Escaping 4-20games in a row which is far above my 3.
Edit: that was also eu off peak time so definitely easier than peak tim, was all in the post.

Alright, keep your secrets then.

What secrets? My recent post explains DH iframe uses, was posted before you first reply to me. Check it if you want, I just dont bother with people who exaggerate/twist what people say and try take the p out of others

A 'run at the killer to stun them' perk would be interesting, but my opinions are the following:
1.) It should not look like this, it needs to be balanced differently.
2.) It should not be Dead Hard.

Better to prevent killer for being accused of camping.
