Stop Hiding MMR

The only reason to hide MMR is because you have something to hide.

If you want us to feel good about MMR just let us see our MMR score. If some survivor runs a killer for 5 gens and has a crazy high MMR score we can understand why it happened.

Give players the option to hide the end game screen MMR values (just like chat).

I don't need to see this to know if players are decent.

Yes anyone who has been playing a long time knows what to look for.

But the reason you hide something from your players is to keep it secret. Why would they keep it secret?

The only way to see your MMR requires doing something "outside of allowed normal play".

they will never show us mmr because then we could see how they screw the matchmaking i favour for lower q times. and when we could see the mmr we as players would have evidence to complain about the balance when we can see that certain killer cant climb above a certain rank because they are to weak.

they excuse it with they dont want elitism but thats weak because people right now just claim to be high mmr to unvalidate your opinions so what gives

They directly explained this (MMR only factoring escapes/kills) themselves though??

If there is MMR -- it should be shown.

If there's ever a ranked system, the rank MUST be displayed.

Even if the numbers themselves are not shown in precise detail, at least have emblems or banners that say 'Hey, this person is Diamond II' or 'This person is Bronze IV'

    Literally anything.

This would be fine too. For all we know players can alter their MMR or have found exploits to match in unexpected ways.

My experiences in video games where things are kept secret are always bad. The devs likely have good intentions but hiding MMR will only serve to protect anyone that is trying to abuse or succeeding to abuse the system.

I'm pretty sure that, especially at this point, it's about commitment.

MMR came out less than a year ago and the community has been on fire since then.

I'm sure that even at the executive level, there may be speculation on the long term viability of the plan - which means they probably don't want to make phone calls to the UI department and start drafting up code for a feature that may be headed towards an unforeseen rework in the near future.

I still remember how the previous Developer Update said the devs wanted to be "as transparent as possible" when it came to SBMM. Well, if the devs truely value transparency, they should reveal player MMR. How can you say you want to be transparent if you don't even allow the players to see how their MMR compares to the others? When you go against very skilled players, how can you know if your MMR is that high or if the matchmaking just messed it up? And then, when you go against way too unsnkilled players on the next match, how can you know the reason? Was their MMR higher than it seems? Is yours lower than it seems? So how did you go against such good players on the previous match? Is SBMM working? How can we know if it's working if you don't allow us to SEE?!

Just like everything else they could add an option to hide your MMR on by default so the info isn't revealed to you by accident. Let it be something that shows after the game in the white circle if the correct box is checked. You can keep chat off so people dont mock your MMR value or reveal it to you.

I have so many bad experiences with bad developers. The best games tell you everything with full transparency - and players often help catch exploits/bugs as a result.

I 100% agree. As people who are investing time and money into the game we should have the option to see our performance results in their entirety.

I am most interested in seeing my killer mmrs. I have been playing in the community cup and I should be able to see how my killers compare to each other and how they compare to the community in general- I play all of the killers. I'm also a math minded person and statistics offer insight and understanding. I agree with with @DBDVulture and @Malkhrim - hiding such a grade or value creates distrust. If you truly want to be transparent, please find a way to make it an option in the game to see a current MMR.

Showing it before the match would result in lobby shopping which is a bad thing.

Showing it after the match would be actually reasonable. You lost not because it's map XYZ, or because addon/item X was in game. You played against someone that has 30% higher MMR and you just stood no chance - the only thing you can complain about is lack of players so that matchmaking could not give you better match.

At the very least if devs don't want to deal with complains how matchmaking matches then against people with vastly different values (but it happens regardless to some degree), I see no reason to at minimum show us our own MMR value. As was said for some math people it would be very nice to know which killer is where and how I compare my killers to my survivors. There should be no reason not to show it AFAIK

-"Showing it before the match would result in lobby shopping which is a bad thing."

Which is why almost everyone says : let me see the MMR of everyone after the game is finished.
