The issue with balance around killers.

(Not my idea, but a suggestion I read)

The biggest issue with killers and why balancing around DBD is so hard is the massive killer power disparity. The killers at the bottom are so far down the bottom that they are essentially a joke. yet the killers towards the top are so strong they are, quite honestly extremely overpowered. Even worse is that many killers can bridge this gap with addons. There is a massive difference between base power doctor/ Huntress and doctor with range extender and wind up Huntress. Killers when referring to balance have a general mindset that all killers should be more viable, while survivors point out that the viable killers are extremely overturned when stacked with certain addons.

This is extremely apparent with the PTB especially with the nerf to DS. The DS nerf can't go to live, it just can't. Against base killers its ok but against blight or nurse, Its nothing. General buff to all killers is a sure way to kill DBD.

An idea to improve this would be to base all killer actions. Pick up, pallet break, blood wipe, stun duration, vaulting. Off each individual killer. Certain killers (especially high mobility killers) should have longer blood wipes, stun durations ect as way to bring them down slightly. Stunning nurse should be rewarding and yet its less rewarding the stunning a wraith as not only is it harder the nurse can obviously get past the pallet without even needing to break it. On the opposite side stunning a wraith is easy, same with all M1 killers and honestly should not be as rewarding. By decreasing the stun time on killers like Myers or Ghostface this will give a small buff to M1 killers while slightly nerfing the killers at the top without it too drastically causing mass imbalance. Same with addons, running top addons should have an affect this as addons would make this widely imbalanced depending on whether or not a killers is running addons or not.

I understand there will be a lot of debate over which killer qualifies for the buff or nerf with this, but a general idea would this be a nice quality of life change that both survivors and killers would benefit from?

nurse wil definitely be an SSS tier killer with the base kits being buffed. these developers just didnt think this through. HAHAHAHHA

I'm not opposed to buffing killers and I think its very obvious that certain killers were underperfoming. But this general buff to all killers just made the top killers or killers with their strong addons go form kinda over powered to straight up broken. All to justify buffing the weaker killers who will still say they are struggling and will need more buffs in the future. They needed to seriously consider why certain killers were underpowered and how much addons affected this. Instead they did a very lazy "General killer buff" and in quite honestly, broken DBD with this patch.

As it stands I am not playing DBD with this patch. killers were not buffed in the right way at all and addons will be essentially mandatory and the meta has not shifted at all as killers best perks have just swapped undying ruin with call of brine overcharge (yes I know this is subject to change but as it stands). Survivor is just boring. They keep losing things and its gotten to stale. Off the record is ok but people will soon realise its just BT fun if you want to taunt but not really practical in a match. In all honestly that's even if it goes live, which I doubt.

But DS didn't really worked against blight/nurse anyway, I doubt it will actually change statistics.

I mean the post was more then just about D strike but...

As it stands the patch cannot go to live, it can't. You're right I don't think 5 econds would fix everything but it would be an improvement. This is just awful.

Why didnt the survivor try to use the rooms or anything but ran in a stright line which was also killers viewing direction?

You know you can add the simple counterplay off nurse and blights power going on cooldown after being stunned. Besides most of the changes dont actually make nurse or blight better. Both have a cooldown based on there power cooldown not the standard blood wipe. I assume these are different. Nurse does not pallet break and blight breaks with his power unless you stunned him through his power. The dead hard change is built to be not only better at dealing with huntress blight and nurse. All these killers give a big heads up with there going to hit you and if they miss there moment the will be stunned or lose the angle for the shot.

Fingers crossed the 1 second is something you can actually bait out and play around with m1 killers. More time maybe needed to see how well people adapt to it. Gen speeds being increased while regression perks reduce in effectiveness. Helps the killer who lack pressure early on. Whilst change to corrupt intervention means killer with fast snowball potential lose corrupt after a fast succesful down.

I dont understand how people dont see the nuanced ways that all these changes are being implemented. Again there are perks being overtuned but those can be changed in time. Whats interesting is that its not just one side getting busted crap for once.

because they already nerfed the maps like 2 years ago. some nurse mains are good at predicting, and playing out of line of sight doesnt really work anymore, especially when nurse have the omega blink add ons(for the love of god, please rework her add ons or her mechanic.)

Yeah, Nurse shouldn't even be able to blink pass pallets. Then pallets could at least do something to her and she would still be strong, specially after the good pallets are gone.
