Distortion AoE
Distortion should activate within a very small AOE. 2-4 meters. Whatever would cover two survivors on a gen or while healing. There's not really any way to tell my teammates that BBQ is proccing(fine imo), but they should be protected from it.

Shadow Step if you want an AOE

Well- no. I'm talking about a deficiency in communication and teamwork that can be covered partially by a perk. I can't tell them that they need to get into locker or that their auras are being shown when they lock a locker or anything of the sort. Short of being able to express this to them, I should be able to protect them to a degree. The function is different from boons, which simply provide a rallying point with varying levels of protection.

sure why not but we are gonna take a token per aura that gets blocked so when you shield another surv you lose two tokens of you are alone you lose one.

You want to shield your teammates from an Aura using Distortion, an AOE effect, which is exactly what Shadow Step does. You can't just give Distortion Shadow Step's effect and call it a day.
You want to protect your entire team, run SS, want to protect yourself, use Distortion

If your teammates wanted to avoid BBQ, they can run distortions themselves or hide in a locker. There's not really a good reason for distortion to cover your teammates.

See, I wanted it to do this when it had a limited number of tokens. But not now. I actually think it’s overpowered as it is. I’ve been running it a lot, and 99% of the time I have never had my aura revealed once (the exception was an amanda’s letter pig). Map-wide aura blocking that lasts the whole match is not balanced.

That's a great idea, but killer mains will never allowed, they still swear that they only use barbecue only for the BP.
But the idea of making distortion into more of a team perk is great, a love how little the change gives to swfs compared to how much it gives in solo queue, and it wouldnt break the game, it would still be useless against any killer without aura reading abilities, and weak against stealth killers that never give you extra tokens, since your teammates would still be ignorant of the killer aura reading abilities
