Or just have a list of banned words limited to those used explicitly for hate speech. A simple blacklist feature that I'm sure this very forum uses. This contextual censorship thing they tried out failed remarkably. The fact this isn't even "acknowledged" and is still just "pending" show this is actively being ignored.

you have the option to opt out of chat btw, it's the little arrows down right at the chat window (highligted here)

This bug report isn't "how do I opt out of chat". It's pertaining to an unnecessary chat censor that isn't working properly.
I clearly want to participate in chat, and the censor is filtering out words it isn't supposed to.

Yeah. And what am saying is those who don't want to read slurs can disable the chat already and those that want to call slurs will do so no matter how good the filter will be

I couldn't call another player "scummy" because that was filtered, but them calling me "cocksucker" was just fine apparently.

It's been about a year and a half. You've had the resources to make several chapters at this point, but still can't address the chat filter that no one asked for and still censors out names of perks and survivors.
At least a nominal response would be great.
To add the most recent instance, it filtered out "game".

Can't be using offensive letters in this game such as M, Q, or L. ESPECIALLY L. It is the most offensive of all letters.

Someone just gave up on hook. "Killed themself" and "suicide" were both blocked.

Facecamp, face camp, and killed were all filtered. This lousy filter still sucks nearly two years later.
