Perk restriction idea...a new way to balance game

Put perks into categories and only allowed to pick one perk from a category. Like a skill tree. It would be easier to balance game.

It would also restrict what perk combos can be ran together.

Or only allow killers to use their own 3 perks and pick any one other perk to run. So if you play freddy you can only use his 3 perks and 1 perk from a different killer. Would go the same for survivors.

It would be alot easier to balance the game.

That would just result in only a few killers and survivors being picked.

While it's true it would make the game easier to balance for the devs, it would remove the fun of making your build, it would force devs to basically have to also rebalance every single survivor and killer in the game and looking at it from the monetization perspective you would remove a reason to buy paid DLC characters so I don't thing it is a good idea or something they would do.

Only certain perks are too strong when combined. Sure only picking one regression perk might sound good, but only having one Hex, Scourge or Boon perk at a time? These things were basically made to be combined.

They should implement more shared limitation systems like Exhaustion, which was implemented purely to preventing chaining multiple chase escape perks together. This can be selectively applied in problematic areas.

  • Some killers are straight up useless without certain perks. This is a very bad idea, and an overreaction to trying to fix quad slowdown.

This would likely kill a lot of perk synergizes which would just make the game less interesting.

No. Just no. It would kill many builds and we would see the same stuff all the time.

Bad map design, strong items, playing safe with killer powers/buffs by Bhvr, pushing killers into using only slowdown perks (look at how many survivor perks are strong against aura reading, lack of amazing chase perks for your average killer etc).

These are things that hinder Dbd's balance.

And from survs POW - stacked slowdown, overtuned slowdown perks, not enough info for soloQ, camping, tunneling, bad maps, lack of resources, desynch hits 5m behind the window (laggy killers are absolute nightmare, you have shorter time to react to changes and killers look like they can throw their weapons).

Umm thats what i said. Pushing killers into slowdown perks.

SoloQ obviously needs help...men does it feel bad to play without good teammates
