Teammates who self kill themselves on hook after the game just started should get banned.
I just had 3 matches in a row where your teammates are getting downed once, they get hooked, they self kill themselves on Stage 1, missing skillchecks on Stage 2, and even if you unhook them, they don't run away, they just stay at place and not letting you even heal them.
Trolls who troll and "leave" the game this way are all punished/banned in all other online games because it's basically trolling and throwing on purpose and ruining match for other players.
Just a serious situation. I am tired of random who got downed once or get hooked once when killer isn't even a tunneller/camper just act like that.

It's annoying sure, but it's is in no way shape or form something you will ever be banned for.
BHVR have stated many times survivors can choose to play selfishly or altruistically. They continue to allow the feature in the game for survivors to use.
They could change it so in the second stage your teammates have a finite 'x' seconds to get you off the hook before being sacrificed, removing the struggle phase entirely. I don't really understand the point in the struggle phase as it provides no real challenge - but they haven't and won't. It also has it's uses in the endgame when you want to suicide so your team mate (who has probably been slugged and left down by this point can try and get the hatch - altruism).
Their position on it is clear.

Or they could just remove self unhooks that kill you.

There should be a default DC penalty buffer. Whatever your current DC penalty happens to be, it adds an additional x seconds.
That value is 5 minutes minus the time elapsed in game. So if you DC the second you load in, you get an extra 5m penalty. If you DC 4:30 into the game, you get an extra 30s penalty.

I made a suggestion for this and was told, by other players, that 'You can't make people play a match they don't want too'.
So apparently queuing up, then ruining the match for everyone by hook-DCing the first time it goes sideways, is perfectly fine. Because no one cares about the other players in a match.

With how prevalent hook suicides are at the start of match I’m curious how much that swings kill statistics. I’d imagine it’s significant.

When a player kills himself 20 seconds after the match starts, it's not selfish or altruistic, it's trolling.

If they've managed to be downed and hooked 20 seconds into a match they'd probably have been a liability anyway.

The punishment in a way is kind of automatic--a lack of bloodpoints and probably a reduced MMR score.
