Remove matchmaking penalty
Hello! I would like to talk about the removal of matchmaking time penalty’s in Dead by Daylight. I know why it exists, but there is one MASSIVE downside to it, sometimes the game instantly kicks you from the trail because of internet quality and after you are removed from the trail you still have to sit through the entirety of the matchmaking time penalty, even though you didn’t even want to leave the trail. I don’t know what else to say, I simply think that the matchmaking penalty should either be removed or updated so that when you accidentally disconnect you don’t have to wait an hour is so. Thank you for your support and have a damn good day!

Games are lousy with leavers without it. It just doesn't work.

The game can't tell if it's intentional or not. Also the only way you get that long of a timer is if you nonstop DC. If you have that bad of an internet connection and you decide to queue up anyways knowing you might crash and ruin the game for everyone else, that is your fault exclusively.

And hiw do you tell if a disconnect is intentional or not?

Asian servers are infested with bot killers.. it’s not really fair to have to finish the games fixing gens in order not to be penalized.

Good god no, there would be so many dcs, went down first? DC. Killer you don’t like? DC. Bad teammates? DC. Saturn and Jupiter don’t align properly? DC.
just get an Ethernet they aren’t that expensive

When they removed the DC penalty guess what happens. People just quit when things were not going the way they liked (wrong killer to face, they are losing, other side outplayed them etc.). Just no...

This is no excuse not to add a rejoin match button. Intentional or not, you should always be able to rejoin the match to avoid any penalty.

The game becomes unplayable without the DC penalty.
If your net is so bad that you frequently DC, then you need to troubleshoot and fix it before playing an online game where you leaving can mess up other people's games.

How would that work?
If people could rejoin, then people could DC when they're downed, wait for their SWF buddy to say 'The Killer left where you went down', and rejoin so their friend could pick them up.
It would be horribly abused to avoid being hooked all day long.

You can't define whos got poor connection and whos just unplugged his cable or router.

I think it's easy to punish people if they just leave the match instead of being kicked from connection issues.
Did this person push ' leave ' -> don't let rejoin
Did this person close the game -> don't let rejoin
Did this person DC and kicked from the game with error message -> let rejoin
The only issue this could cause is people abusing lag switches or some other stuff, but I don't think this would as big of a problem as people may think. It can't be as bad as the hackers or the Dead Hard Scripting. There is already abusable stuff in this game, why not one more where people will get more value out of it if they have spotty internet.
That or they could just rework the whole penalty system and stop the accumulative penalty issue. I think a 10-15m dc penalty is fine, why push it passed that? This doesn't prevent people from still DCing, people will still continue to do it.

You do realize it is possible, and quite easy, to force-crash any program?
Survivors would do that and rejoin.
On top of that; the server has no way of knowing if you crashed, closed, or have your router explode in a fireball.
To the server; Gone is gone. And because you're gone, your game can't send any sort of message saying WHY you left.
And again; you did not actually fix the issue:
Survivors force a crash when downed, wait for the Killer to walk away, and rejoin.

You are responsible for your own internet.
