FINALLY = Eruption getting nerfed is confirmed
So in the latest dev announcment about the 7th year changes, the devs wrote they're looking at perks again and confirmed theyre looking at eruption specifically at the last sentence.
Nothing more to add, just thank god and please do it fast so we can go back to the dms meta that at least was counterable. also weak killers won't be carried anymore and would have to earn their regression on 1(!!) gen.

I really do hope that BHVR does give both sides an equal area of footing if they do tweak perks. Ive seen a lot of people complain about Dead Hard and Eruption, so I hope both are looked at and treated equally (I just really dont want to see the forums blow up with community discourse).
Of course, Ive just given up and accepted both perks in normal gameplay, but Id like to see how the community handles it. But it's nice to hear that BHVR hears what we are saying.

I don't feel like DH needs another look really. They got ride of the truly problematic part. Eruption specifically the incapacitation part is just unhealthy for the game imo. Hopefully they get rid of that aspect and don't just completely nuke the perk.

They haven't confirmed #########. They've mentioned that they're looking at it. Not that they will definitely do something.
I definitely agree that eruption needs a nerf though. They need to remove/reduce the incapacitated and/or get rid of the noise notification. If pain resonance doesn't give a notification I don't see why eruption should.

I mean, balancing does not mean that both sides need to be hit equally like "1 Perk from Killer, 1 Perk from Survivor". Personally, I think DH is fine. The main complaint all the time was "DH for distance" and this is gone. That the Perk is used a lot does not make it problematic.
However, both sides will get a few Perks changed and I also hope that they revisit some of the Perks they already changed. E.g. I would be happy if they return DS to 5 seconds or make Ruin or Iron Will worth using (IMO Ruin disabling when someone is dead while staying at 200% regression and Iron Will reducing Grunts of Pain by 100% while making perma-exhausted would be great, but I dont think BHVR agrees on that...).
But what I really fear is that they nerf even more Perks just for the sake of removing them from the Meta, like they did with the first Perk Rework (e.g. DS was fine after deactivating in Endgame, Ruin would have been fine with one of the Nerfs as written above, PGTW did not really need a change (even tho, in retrospect with all the other Gen-Kicking Perks I am quite happy to not see PGTW in it as well...))

Good and Dead Hard also needs to be looked at too, as a 3rd health state that can be used repeatedly in a match is beyond ridiculous

Yay...here we see it again. Just enough people have to cry about something and the devs will look at it. Won't be surprised if they kill eruption just like they killed Thana (for the most killers), Ruin (which is still a hex...i mean why is it still a hex?) and Pop (which is only useful on already good progressed gens).
Of course the effect of Eruption is strong, but especially now with the new HUD i am able to avoid it even better. I know the killer and i see an injured mate getting chased. So i kinda guess how long the chase will be until the down and get off the gen. Yeah sometimes i wait 10 seconds for the down, but it is at least better than getting hit by eruption.
And i also run Repressed Alliance since some days, so the killer isn't able to kick the gen and put Eruption on it. Of course he could wait the 30 seconds, but time is something the killers don't have, so they often go for a chase and while i loop, my mates see the gen and finish it after RA stops.

People can have their two cents on the DBD Forums about how strong or weak each perk is, but my entire reason behind it being nerfed is just so people will stop complaining.
There is the obvious issue of Auto-DH but that is more of an issue of people cheating than DH being an issue.

It should be irrelevant, but I find it annoying since it takes away from more important things, and only leads to community discourse and divide. Ive had to change my DBD name several times because people from the Forums just hard tunnel me all game over an opinion and talk s--t post-game; Im just tired of it.

I haven't used eruption (because im stupid af and run no regression), but I really wanna see what's the next in dire need of a nerf, probably call of brine or overcharge, which unlike eruption do have a counter but I predict it will be a deadmans + pain res situation again.

It isn’t a 50/50 mind game when there’s enough time to react between the animation and it landing. Are we holding off lunges for m1 taps? Okay well now you just gave them the extra distance that old DH gave.

The logic to keep nerfing the top perk is dumb, it will just be replaced with the number 2.
People will always run meta. They need to look at WHY everyone runs meta.

So Eruption will be nerfed and be unsuesable and killers will no longer have a reliable gen regression perk. Gens will pop like crazy, and 4 survivors will still have a free 3rd health state with untouched deadhard.

Nah iron will should stay dead permanently. The worst perk design ever, even when factoring in god validation dh. If you got value out of iron will pre-patch, you didn't do anything special the chase just ended. Going for a mindgame as killer was instantly responded to with W on the survivors end due to iron will.
