Reverse the 6.5.1 Update now!
Sorry but what the hell is this?! Survivors already got a buff with the activity HUD and now it get's buffed?! Sorry but no one can tell me the devs are not survivor sided.

It's not "devs are x sided", it's a simple quality of life to bridge the gap between solo survivors and SWF groups. It's more than a welcomed change, in my opinion. At least I know if a teammate is on a 0% gen or on a 70% gen. You can have all of this info in swf, I don't see why can't you have it in solo.
33 -
Let them implement it. I would like to see what happens. My guess is that the next kill rates will be quite a bit lower than the last, which should lead to further and hopefully more specific killer buffs in return.
24 -
Ah Yeah. Swf is too strong since years and the solution is to make the solo gameplay as broken?
2 -
It really seems like you guys actively like bashing the devs for any reason when buffing one side in 1 patch. I remember this exact complaint with the killer basekit changes
17 -
I have my reservations about this, but it is information that SWF have. I haven't seen this in game yet, obviously, but my only concern is that the information SWF give about generator progress tends to be less precise than something like the recovery wheel, so it may need to be scaled back...
But, y'know, any solo queue fix is going to make solo queue stronger, that's the entire point. It's not "survivor sided" to acknowledge and act on the fact that solo queue players lack information.
5 -
It's not broken. If things get out of hand, killers will eventually get buffed too. It's not the end of the world
9 -
Aren't you the person who said eruption is not too strong that we're all just too weak?
30 -
As a SoloQ player makes me curious what kind of genrushing teammates I have and actually see them crush gens
1 -
This is good.
This means the next time the game gets balanced to bring killrates up (hopefully by fixing specific killer issues rather than buff them in general), it will not affect solos much more than SWFs. Now balancing can be made between 2 groups in mind instead of 3.
I was a bit cautious that people might become too efficient and objective oriented, but all I'm seeing so far is that it cut some slack on survivors, allowing them to do some totems and chest again without throwing. At least, I'll indulge.
3 -
imo if you are losing solely because gen progress is now being shown you might have been going to lose anyways. Stuff like this isn't even the reason why swf is 'strong'.
Anyways, can we stop the kneejerk reactions? I don't really know why this community can't get through their minds is they are gauging the effectiveness on this information and buffing killers accordingly? Which is, you know, literally what people have been trying to get bhvr to do for years.
15 -
I'm very happy with that, it's a very good implementation for SoloQ
2 -
That's arrived way quicker than I thought it would. Goody.
6 -
i ugly cackled at this
17 -
Quality of Life for solo survivors is most definitely the goal of this feature - its still nowhere near the level the information that's obtainable in a SWF, which is partly why I'm emphasising quality of life here, as it's going to feel a lot better.
A group of SWF playing together doesn't necessarily mean they're going to be a crack seal team, they're still limited by their abilities/skill - giving solo players information is going to help for sure (a much needed help!), but it's not going to make them invincible as they still have to figure out what to do with the information presented to them.
As with any change that we make, these are things that we will be monitoring.
16 -
Unless you want killers to be at the merci of swf forever this is a very good chance.
Bringing swf and solo as close as possible means killers can be buffed without fear of overpowering the weaker side.
Killer players with any kind of insight should be celebrating too
9 -
unironically yes
a good portion of the player base is SWF, so they can't outright ban SWF or else nobody will ever find a match (figuratively. people will find matches but it will take sooooo long)
most SWF are just friends casually hanging out, so they can't penalize SWFs just for queueing together because then matches would get sweatier (SWFs would be forced to sweat just to offset the penalty, rather than playing casually)
if they buff killer to the power where they can deal with SWF without buffing solo queue, then solo queue will disappear and again it will be (figuratively) impossible to find a match (the few matches that do happen will be sweat-fests)
the only way to keep the game balanced is to make solo queue as OP as SWF, and to buff killer to make it able to compete with that level of OP.
6 -
If that stuff is accurate, any group with half a brain will be able to use that information thoroughly to know when to be ready for the doors, when getting the attention of the killer matters most, ...
In the hands of a team, it will be even more helpful because there is no need to synchronise info about gen progress anymore.
I expect the escape rate will raise quite a bit.
1 -
Agreed. I don't know why people are complaining. Killers will get changes if needed. This is a good thing.
4 -
The problem is that people like the op don't have the patience to survive the "monitoring phase* in between.
Which is honestly a crucial point that bhvr managed to screw up quite often in the past (Mori -> 1year -> key, and the wait wasn't worth it.)
6 -
Don't mind it, good change.
Now please, buff some older killers like you buffed GF, Plague and Legion. Hillbilly and Pig just need number tweaks to feel way better to play.

Correct me if I’m wrong but does this update mean that the progress bar will FINALLY display an accurate percentage of how much of the generator is done?
0 -
The idea is to close the gap in strength between SWF and Solo and thus make is easier to balance Killer around Survivor in general. At the moment you have to either balance Killer around SWF -or- Solo, which creates big problems.
Also solo survivor is the weakest role in the game right now so it needs buffs.
4 -
Don’t know why you’re complaining when this is going to lead to killer buffs if it changes the kill rates too much.
Solo q needs the love.
6 -
this is something swf already has and has had for years. balancing solo queue and swf makes it easier to balance the game as a whole
2 -
yes, the icon will show the progression of the gen being worked on by that survivor.
0 -
I'm all for this as long as y'all don't drag your feet on killers buffs if this does make kill rates drop and make killer significantly worse to play. I just don't want to sit in a miserable role for months to years just bc y'all are slow to get around to improving/balancing the game. Sorry I honestly don't have the most faith in the devs team response time on issues like balance.
4 -
It's like seeing someone recovering from the ground. Same bar, no percentage.
1 -
The buff would be fine, if they corresponded it with buffs for the weaker killers, but it did not. Nurse and Blight are going to be all that anyone sees now, like this literally kills off 90% for the roster, it puts Huntress, who was already slipping tiers, down to B tier at most now. Reloads just became even more inefficient.
Nurse, Blight, Wesker, Spirit, Artist are now the only viable killers at top 5% mmr, and you will be forced to run slowdown on all but Nurse and Blight. Then there is Nurses new chase music, which completely removes her ability to hear sounds other then the chase music.
Devs should have held off on the gen progress percentage until they had some buffs for the weaker killers. But nah, that would be logical.
4 -
no you did not!
🤣
1 -
DBD is the easiest it has ever been for KIller (really, if you dont win with massive Slowdown and/or Top Killers, it is a "You"-problem) and people really complain about a Generator-Icon. Yikes.
You lose your games because you are bad. Not because Solo Survivors can see what SWFs know since the beginning of the game.
15 -
Feels like every week there's a new Lord_Tony in town.
13 -
I think you're focusing too much on balance here and not Quality of Life which is what this is intended for, and where the biggest gains are going to come from. It's why I've said from the start not to focus on balance when discussing this feature, as information alone doesn't change the killer experience.
Solo survivor was unarguably the group that was in dire need of attention in respect to qol in the game.
10 -
Oooop we really bringing that mess up?
0 -
Would be the DBD forums to complain about a bugfix patch.
0 -
They do this to close the Gap between Solo and SWF as best as they can. AFTER that, they will adress the killers.
My issue here: I can imagine it will take too long for the devs to adress 30 (!) Killers.
More personal needed XD.
1 -
Agreed my only issue/concern is the amount of time it will take them to buff the killers if this info does lower the kill rates by a good bit.
2 -
Idk why everyone is so upset about this. Giving solo players more information was a necessary step to balance the game. There was too much of a gap between solo and SWF and it meant it was more difficult to balance killers and everything else around that.
Will the extra information have an impact and is it a buff to solo survivors? Absolutely. And in some regards it’s even a buff to partial SWFs of 2 or 3 players because they have info on their solo queue teammates now too. But it isn’t giving you anything a 4-stack SWF didn’t already have.
Killers can always be buffed again if necessary (or at the very least some of the weaker ones which need it regardless) especially when Eruption gets nerfed which we know is happening.
3 -
Yes - and then adjust the killers. This is the best they can do, because they simple cannot nerf SWFs properly. How should they? Tell Discord and Co. to deny Voice-Chats?
1 -
Only in DbD is losing 50% of the time considered a balance issue. And killers have to be doing something massively wrong to lose 50% of the time.
6 -
Balance is inherently part of QoL, you push it to much one side and QoL of the other side is now, non existent. Like, right now choosing to play 90% of the killer roster is going to suck ass. Which makes playing Killer suck ass. Survivor queue times are going up already.;
4 -
You constantly repeat the “not all SWF teams are SEALS” line, yet killer is always balanced around max potential/ top player play. Sounds pretty hypocritical to me.
3 -
They just implemented the HUD, the gen progress, takes the HUD buff and buffs it even further. M1 killers are now not an option in top 5% mmr. You were already at a disadvantage as an m1 killer, now its literally not viable.
2 -
According to the kill rates. This is completely false.
3 -
I know Im not upset as a killer main but I am concerned with how long it would take the devs to take action to buff killers if this info does cause kill rates to drop. I don't have a lot of faith in the dev team when it comes to changing a role when it's in need. It took them this long to improve solo and we still waiting for that so call twins to rework/look at. A year ago they said they would be looking at Twins next after GF and Legion and we still haven't gotten any more info on that since then. So yeah that's my only concern but I am happy they trying to make the weakest role in the game better(soloQ).

I may not be an OG player, but to think that I have lived to see the day when people cry SoloQ OP! while it's easier than ever to tunnel out the first survivor, not to mention killers have the highest kill rate in the game's history. That's definitely something.
3 -
SWF escape rates were 15% higher. So kill rates should drop by well... 15%. Which means that the weaker killers with a sub 50% kill rate now will probably get a single kill per match.
3 -
How do you keep harping on this quality of life narrative? Giving survivors constant, infallible mapwide info can't be construed as anything but a buff to all survivors. Is this gaslighting actually working on anyone?
4 -
What are you even trying to say in this post? Use your words.
1 -
I don't think the solos will match SWFs but since the SWFs are likely to also benefit from it, well, maybe 15% is right.
Isn't the Nurse the weakest killer for the majority of players? Buffs soon? 😋
Joke aside, I'm eager to see updated statistics in, say, a month.
