Windows of Opportunity
If carrying windows of opportunity, you should be able to know if Freddie or the Doctors pallets are fake.

Nah. A perk shouldn't negate a major part of a killer's power.
20 -
Nope, you definitely shouldn't. WoO is arguably on the verge of being too powerful already.
10 -
lmao. Iri tag and alch-ring should be basekit for blight as well.
6 -
That should be the benefit of bringing the perk because it negates the perk when in chase
0 -
You still have to know how to loop but it negates that perk when in chase.
0 -
The benefit of the perk is knowing where pallets and vaults are without having to guess. Removing as aspect of a killer's power is too much.
4 -
Yeah but taking windows is to help give me an idea of where I don't want to go also if there isn't as pallet there. It doesn't show for everyone, just me so that seems fair otherwise I have a perk that I can't rely on fully. Pretty pointless and would probably rather have a different perk.
0 -
No, the perk is already strong enough. You dont need more value from a single perk slot.
3 -
The point of the Freddy's pallets and Doctor's illusions are so you don't know which pallets are are real. It doesn't make Windows useless. You have to play around those killer powers as you should.
7 -
It's essentially erasing the perk if your using it to know where not to go. Especially if you're hurt.
0 -
That erases most of the value from that perk slot. Game balance is killer heavy already and you still have to know how to loop for windows to really be useful. Shouldn't go down because the perk you brought shows you real and fake pallets. That should be a benefit for bring windows that other survivors won't have.

Shouldn't go down...
There is the problem, you dont think you should be going down. You get to see pallets, you dont get to see what pallets are fake.
Kinda weird you would devalue one of the best perks in the game, because once in a bluemoon you run into a Killer that makes fake pallets. I dont see this as a problem at all. No reason to ever support a change to a perk that counters Killers. Not at all.

hold on, are you guys really calling WoO overpowered, the best perk in the game, etc? I've always completely considered it a beginner-designed perk, eventually, you should play the maps enough to understand where things spawn and get a sense of the area as soon as you figure out what map your loading into. there's no way thinking WoO is one of the best perks in the game is the common thought here, just play the game, use gamesense, or even look around the map and make a mental one before you plug yourself onto a generator for engaging gameplay sit-down quiet time.
that being said, I don't agree with OP's suggestion. the perk is good as it is for people who are starting out and need their chases to be a bit handholdy. i wouldn't mind it being buffed, but being buffed just to be better against some killers in specific situations doesn't seem like the right way to balance the game.
1 -
actually win op is pretty good,
if you asked me what is the best build for all occasions for solo, I would answer: "DH, kindred, win op, coh"
3 -
Eh, WoO is really good rn because other perks are just... not.
+It's really really good in soloq because you know which pallets were used.
3 -
that seems too much, windows is fine and does a very good job at its purpose, the fake pallets are the killers power
4 -
Sure why not ?
Also Circle of healing should heal plague's infection, nemesis and wesker infection too
And what about Dead Hard ? It should prevent hooking as well !
4 -
So WoO should nerf an already niche killer that decided to bring a niche add-on like Freddy's pallets?
I just played him on Gideon of all places with DPs and 3 of the survs were running WoO. Fake pallets scored me a whole 2 hooks. The other 8 i got without them, they really aren't powerful enough to need a perk counter imo
3 -
I use balanced landing and would rather have different perk when spawning in shelter woods.
I use medkit and would rather have different item when facing plague.
etc.
The point is, that all items/perks from survivor sided have always had some risk associated with it (be it smaller or larger). It's not fair to demand different item/perk just because you got countered. You were just unlucky with your pick. Play around it. It's not like you have no chance now, because 1 of your perks is PARTIALLY countered by killer's power. You are still in a much better position then say you got blinded (by 3rd seal) and don't know about any resources in the map (be it fake or not - including windows).
1 -
You're not automatically going down in any other of those scenarios. You are is using WoO and a fake pallet
0 -
Yeah 2 hooks that the "perk" should have kept the survivor from going down. And seems you
OK but what "power" does any survivor had that would negate any killer perks? Answer is none. We would have to burn a perk spot to negate a killer perk and that's a shot in the dark if you don't know who it is or what they're bringing
0 -
That's kind of the point and advantage of bringing in a perk though. Unless by use of another perk, when does a killer's perk become invaluable? The answer is never so the killer will have 4 working perks and a power unless a survivor burns a perk spot in hopes of negating a perk.
0 -
Yeah useless for the survivors but hardly ever for the Killer. But at least I know when not to rely on exhaustion perks because I have a meter. I don't know if WoO is leading me into danger or not. Which is why I take it.

Honestly, I wouldn't even say that WoO is only beginner-designed as plenty of people use it to chain tiles together or just increase chases. The value you can get from it is insane; not saying I want it nerfed though it's in an okay spot. I get downed the majority of the time because I find myself in areas where I can't chain tiles together. I know everyone says an experienced player should figure out where to run on the go and to keep an eye on things so they know what tiles are what, but it's nice not having to worry about that situation and plan ahead if you get what I mean.

People also need to realize that not everybody playing this game is an expert gamer.
0 -
The whole point of fake pallets is that they are meant to trick survivors into thinking there is a pallet where there is not one. A perk should never negate this aspect.
6 -
adrenaline already counters freddy we dont need more nerfs to an already bad killer
4 -
The point of those illusory pallets is to fool people into thinking there is a tile resource there that isn't, to make them unreliable.
So yes, the point is that the Perk that just shows you Pallets also becomes unreliable when faced with intentional deception.

Freddy sucks enough, why do you want anyone who plays him to suffer?
2 -
big lol. I knew someone would make a post on fake pallets on doctor. i was memeing with those to see how well WoO survivors play without their crutch perk. now people are asking a change on that. this post made me laugh so hard. hehe
