Add queue time to popular (OVERPLAYED!) Killers.
Love this game.
However, I am SICK of going against Flava of the Month Killer.
Knights and Weskers back to back with a Legion sprinkled in for good measure for my unenjoyment.

Yea that ain't going to happen because BHVR won't punish players for just trying to play the game
33 -
They should just do what they're going to do for maps. If you have a Nurse game the next queue will not pair you with a Nurse.
9 -
"This Killers is currently being played by 47% of the community. Please select a different Killer to get into a match faster!"
Or there could be a number next to the portrait next to the Killer portrait. That number shows how further down in the queue you'll be pushed if you select the Killer being overplayed.
Also, there could be 200% or 300% bonus for playing Killers that aren't touched.
3 -
then add something to where the newest killer wont count for that until the mid chapter comes out
3 -
Again they won't punish players for playing a Killer but a insensitive of BP bonus would be better
13 -
it’s so unfair killer players can play the killer they want!
11 -
Lol imagine trying to make people suffer instead of incentivize them by some bonus or whatsoever
7 -
Or just let people play the killer they want to play.
22 -
That idea of incentiviving underplayed killers is interesting. Definitely has possibilities imo.
Those six Twins players out there would rejoice, however no amount of bribery will get me to play Trickster on my Xbox! ;)
2 -
it's because they're newer.
one thing you're going to experience with timed release dlc is that everyone plays the new thing till they get bored and go back to what works.
i play meyers and ghost face primarily. but people rage quit when i play them so i don't play often anymore. the new stuff makes me come back every season. i'm sure some other players probably experience the same type of on and off commitment.
with the new map rotation mechanic that forces variations in maps it might be possible to make killers have a similar mechanic, but it would likely increase queue times drastically. and at that point... you're sacrificing the experience of the community for a self serving mechanic. which is different from the map mechanic since that was always psuedo random outside of offerings.
they could always consider releasing a free to play version of the game with the player getting to choose between the first 4 survivors as a starting point free survivor and trapper as a free killer. since the game already has built in in-game currency and a premium currency mechanic. the tome system could be locked for f2p players with them only gaining access to daily challenges. that's basically what fortnite did.

Why punish Killers for playing who they want....
Maybe they just got done playing a different Killer... and now face a longer queue cause they want to play a specific Killer
Like for me I haven't played Dredge, Wesker or Knight... so if/when I get back into the game I would be punished cause I want to learn those Killers... That doesn't make any sense
5 -
You realise this could also make survivor queue times worse, right? If not many people want to play the "on-demand" killers, both survivors and the people who play popular killers will end up waiting longer.
3 -
Sure if the same rule applies to exhaustion perks
9 -
So you want to punish people for wanting to play with the product they purchased... Quite...
4 -
I'd rather there be a bp bonus for lesser played killers, it gives incentive to people to branch off of the Wesker/Legion/Huntress
1 -
Time for the good ol' "now if only all killers were as gpood as the good killers, there would be more variety"
0 -
Hey if we now punish killer player for playing the character they like, does that mean we can now also punish survivor for playing with their friend and nerf/disincentivice swf? /S
One of the most ridiculous takes i have seen here🤦
The incentive idea is way more feasible. But with that you would also get complains like "killer already get more BP" or "what about survivor", maybe also give something like that for solo when the swf ratio gets too high or something (can't give a flat out bonus for solo all the time).
3 -
Yeah no thanks. For one, there's not enough killer variety the higher up the ladder you go due to the fact that some killers fizzle out because they are to weak to compete at a high level with any sort of frequency. For two, any time a DLC comes out people would end up being in matchmaking hell due to the game intentionally trying to force "Variety" for the sake of it. I understand that people get tired of seeing the same killers, but think of it as a way to get better and learn their weaknesses. You're never going to get better if you ask the devs to throw in the towel for you.
2 -
Yes we need killer ban system
0 -
Maps are not people.
0 -
A lot of people think killers are set dressing or toys to play with or are there to facilitate their fun. There's little thought for the person trying to have a good time playing the killer of their choice behind the screen.
3 -
Nobody in this thread said that. You're making up someone to be upset with. Very very strange.
0 -
Why do people want killer players to be punished for simply playing a killer? What if survivor players were punished this way for using certain perks? Does that sound fun? No? Be quiet then.
2 -
The title literally says to add a queue timer for certain killers, don't you think that's punishing people for wanting to play those killers?
5 -
I get that feeling -.-
0 -
Do Killers also get a perk ban system? I'm not sure if driving players out of the game by artificially increasing queue times to intolerable amounts is a great way to keep a healthy playerbase.
Also, looking at the results of what would happen if Killers got a perk ban system shows how unviable a perk ban or queue lengthen would be. BHVR wouldn't have to worry about CoH or DH changes or complaints anymore since any survivor using it would get high enough queue times they would drop out.
2 -
i'm okay with that.
bye bye Fung Mintz and selfish Claudettes!

The notion of "punishing the player for their killer choice" was mentioned a few times before my comment?
I simply made a jab at the parallels in "nerf swf" threads where people talk about "punishing players for playing with their friends".
Both ideas are similar unhealthy for the game.
And I even marked it as sarcasm with "/S", is that not enough anymore? Do we have to fully spell it out now?
2 -
Or they could not punish killers for playing the game they've paid for.
4 -
way to go to the extreme.
i paid for this game. if i ragequit and DC, should i not get a temp ban cuz i "paid for this game?"
0 -
Good idea at first glance ... but Hag and Twins players do not DESERVE any BP buffs ...
0 -
Sorry but may I ask you to not go extreme and be sensible please.
4 -
Make swf in matchmaking a toggle option.
6 -
What does that even mean?
6 -
Use context clues. That's not my job to do for you, sir.
Back on topic:
Still back 2 back Weskers and Tippy-Toe Knights. :(
0 -
Wesker is fun to play against, what are you talking about?
0 -
Context clues tell me you have no idea what you’re talking about.
4 -
Then why are you wasting your time, my time, OUR TIME by replying? Just scoot along and do something else.
0 -
That’s ironic isn’t it. Lmao
1 -
No need to gaslight them
1 -
Or buff weaker killers to see them more often.
I bet that if trapper get some serious buffs a LOT of people would love to play it.
And same for other killers.
4 -
Why, instead of those silly requests that never happen, you don' ask to FIX all those killers who you never face ? If all those C-D-F tier killers would have been viable and on par with A-B tier killers you would see a lot more difference in your gameplay but BHVR would never fix old products already sold
3 -
This community really is willing to torture themselves with longer queue times. Just FYI: If they have to wait longer to find a game then you have to as well. All your change does is to increase queue times artificially which doesn't make sense.
4 -
I would rather wait 10 minutes than to play 5 back to back games with Wesker.
I said what I said. Stop gaslighting me cuz you don't agree.
0 -
How am I gaslighting?
I can tell you straight away why longer queue times are a horrible idea. They drive people away from playing this game. Heard of VHS? That of one of the core reasons why it's dead. Teen in VHS is a lot of fun while monster is absolutely stressful. So barely anyone played monster. Almost everyone wants to play teen. This led to teen queues being 10-20 minutes long. And that drove players away. Most people don't want to wait a long time for a match. They willl simply go and play another game. And that's why I thik your idea is horrible.
6 -
Pretty amusing that one year ago, it would take 10 minutes average to get into a game as survivor. Devs changed matchmaking logic, buffed Killers and introduced incentives in the hopes of improving queue times.
Now we have people asking for longer queue times and are willing to queue longer themselves. The grass is always greener on the other side.
3 -
you act like players should have to constantly face killers they don't enjoy.
somehow that makes them "stupid" in your opinion.
until the devs address the health of the game, they should offer this as a bandaid fix like they do all their DLC perks. bandaids instead of addressing core issues. :)
0 -
Not sure how you pulled out “stupid” from there but that’s fine. I see it more as players wanting something and expecting minimal consequence only to be disappointed when minimal consequence doesn’t happen.
Would the players who were willing to have longer queues in exchange for a Killer they liked going against be willing to wait 20-30 minutes for each match in the long run? If 50% of the survivor player base wanted to go up against Trapper and a function was implemented to do so, the Trapper playerbase won’t magically increase accordingly to compensate.
I highly doubt this function would see much use long term and just end up being a band aid like you pointed out.
4 -
You need to block one killer or do the same as with cards where after the nurse the nurse should not get caught.
How I hate this unbalanced nurse spitting from a high height on the concept of the game itself.

You cannot punish killer-players for selecting their favourite killer over the Hag for example. Its not killer-players fault that the killers and their fun-potential is far away from each other. Also, everyone feels fun in a different way.
