Penalties for unhealthy gameplay

DBD Community is mostly very toxic and unhealthy to each other. Most of my games have been against toxic tunneling face camper (solo q). Its so sad to see a game with this much potential downgraded to what it is atm.

If people had a reason to play in a more healthy way, they would.

And I have seen Streamers get a face camper or heavy tunneler once or twice out of 20+ matches. I rarely see it in my games unless it's a Bubba or I do something to deserve to be tunneled or camped.

The game is equal because there ARE Streamers beating said Nurses and Blights. Heck even I can deal with them as long it isn't a God Tier Nurse or Blight because my skills are not that good. Also news flash not every Blight and Nurse are expert survivor smashers. It takes time to learn how to deal with them and I took that time with trial and error to get my skills up.

You may want to take a break if the game if you're so jaded and upset that you feel like every player you run into is just a monster whose only goal is to make your life miserable...

People with at least couple of brain cells, for example. I'll explain it to you: when something fails to serve its purpose by design = unhealthy.

Game (not job, not punishment, game) has to be fun and interesting (because it's a game). Unfun exploits = unhealthy. Same as cheating, for example.

    Harassment on work = unhealthy

    Bribery in institutions = unhealthy

    Abusement in families = unhealthy

Cheese and exploits in multiplayer games = unhealthy

I understand that in any scenario there are some benefactors of unhealthy aspect (in DbD it's bad killer players), but that's not the reason to ruin the whole purpose of the game to give momentary gratifications to a bunch of questionable participants.

    Clearer now?

Don't forget that they're "holding the game hostage" next time! With "unhealthy and toxic" I almost had bingo.

Fun to who? In every online multiplayer game your fun comes at a cost to someone else and vice versa. Equating someone trying to win in a video game with workplace harassment and familial abuse is just beyond the pale. Unhinged.

    cope

killers dont know if theyre playing against 4 solos or 4 friends on comms with the best items, perks, and offerings. killer HAS to play aggressive and "toxic", because if they play "fair" they will lose with 90% of the killer roster. tunneling is simply the best tactic currently, and camping is easily punishable outside of endgame-and in that case, ######### do you want killer to do? check the 2 doors on opposite sides of the map that they have no control over except stalling for a bit if theres more than one survivor left? theres no point in doing anything BUT camping in endgame to try to secure a kill

There's nothing unhealthy about tunneling or camping. The fact of the matter is the game only rewards the killer for killing survivors.

3 hooks on 1 survivors is a dead survivor. 3 survivors with 1 hook each is nothing.

If tunneling/camping were to be address, you would need to make a reward for spreading hooks to be better than just straight up going for a kill.

"Unhinged", lol xD No, completely wrong. If I play(! emphasis on "play") the game and I lose, it is perfectly fine and happens in every game. But when someone deny(!) me of playing game, that is unfun. See the difference? Close to cheating, right? Cause cheaters also denying other players to play the game for their own momentary benefit.

Tunneling is fine i think. It's just a Strategy. But i agree a when it comes to Killers camping near a Hook for too long. It's frustrating/demotivateing to play for the hooked Survivor being used as a Bait, which can easily happen when it's just a Friend-Squad of three People and one random Player or if each Survivor is just doing his own thing.

Some Solutions in my eyes would be ONE of the following things paired a free automatic unhook, Endurance Buff and increased Speed after some time for the hooked Survivor.

    • Increase/stop the timer before the second Stage/Death that the Survivor has on the Hook
    • Increase the Gen repair Speed of other Surivors over time
    • Making the gates open faster and showing the hooked Survivor which Gates are open

If the Gates are open everything (Exept for showing the open Gates for the hooked Surivor that got camped) gets disabled. Also the Killer and Surivors should be notified is the Killer is camping for too long near a Hook.

But i just wanna say there has to be said that Multiplayer-Games are- and will always be toxic and unhealthy is some way. Interacting with other People can- always be in a Safe Space or a Bubble.

The killer tunneling one player out of the game is not a toxic response. It's a conditioned response to having the survivors tunnel your generators.

Remove tunneling from the game. How do we do that?

    1. Slow down the survivor objectives with something like baskit deadlock. The perk by the same name could extend the timer by 30 seconds. Both versions would gain "rollback" protection so that two gens finished simultaneously will make one roll back to 99% and be blocked.
    2. Reward the killer for not tunneling with something more powerful than tunneling. This would need to be something like an 8% penalty to gens/healing/totems/chests/etc. each time you hook someone for the first time - but only if no one is dead yet.

Anything less than the "reward" for tunneling one player out of the game will just make me do that instead because it is the most efficient option.

Yeah, unhinged because I'm not allowed unadulterated speech here without eating a ban.

Devs should not punish killers anyway expect make tunneling bit harder than now. It's bit too easy before ds at least there was reason why it happened less. But I think killers should be rewarded spreading hooks and get some buffs. I think for starters gens should be 100-110s.

You know that killers strength in tunneling is different right?

Are you trying to tell me next that there are a billion sadako mains but I never see them?

Most streamers are playing in squads or at least in duo's so they have perma kindred.

I don't care if its so hard to escape for those in solo q. I just want healthy players to be rewarded for playing as such, and penalties for unhealthy.
