Log-in rewards and XP/BP boost packs?

I'm guessing most will disagree, seeing as many people would consider this a P2W system, but was it ever considered - I guess it was- to sell XP/BP boost packs to generate more income - like, options to buy 2xXP/2xBP for several days, while granting more Shards and some AC as a reward - say, upon reaching P25 and P75 on a character, you are awarded 150/300 Shards and upon reaching P50/100 being rewarded with 25/75 AC.

I think this would allow for making farming currency faster and easier while still making profit. And they could always eliminate the option to buy licensed characters with auric cells so they can not be acquired for free.

Also, a log-in reward system like for every day you play the game, you get some added bonus. Let's say each month is considered of a 28 days plan. Maybe thay could grant some increasing amount of BP for most days, while giving some Shards on each multiple of 7, and tossing some instant XP or BP boost reward in between.

Days 1 to 3 - 1000 BP. Day 4 - instant 2xBP boost for first match. Day 5 to 6 - 1250 BP. Day 7 - 100 Shards.

Days 8 to 10 - 1500 BP. Day 11 -instant 2xXP boost for first match. Day 12 to 13 - 1750 BP. Day 14 - 200 Shards.

Days 15 to 17 - 2000 BP. Day 18 - instant 3xBP boost for first match. Day 19 to 20 - 2250 BP. Day 21 - 300 Shards.

Days 22 to 24 - 2500 BP. Day 25 - instant 3xXP boost for first match. Day 26 to 27 - 3000 BP. Day 28 - 400 Shards.

I don't know, something like that, which doesn't grant an extreme advantage or progress but that rewards daily players and makes the grind easier.

Thoughts? I am expecting the worst, so be my guest.

You do realise they still have to make it viable for them to not lose moeny, don't you? Besides, if both worked together, giving you BP and boosts would net you more shards faster.

they make tons of money with cosmetics. This is nto a f2p game, it shouldn't be grindier than a f2p game... BP mean nothing to me. I sit on 2million BP because I have nothign to waste them on...

This game doesn't need that, in fact no game really needs that because there are much better ways to handle the grind that are player centric rather than profit centric.

Most games that follow the xp boost pack model of monetization tend to artificially extend the grind that their players need to put up with to acquire things in the game. If people can get things at a consistent decent rate they are less likely to even want buy boosts so you have to make the boost look worthwhile by making the grind overly long or highly inconsistent. DBD in terms of monetization scheme while not great isn't hyper predatory. The grind is consistent and has even been greatly lessened with recent changes, most things can be obtained via shards which are a consistent reward currency as long as you play on a semi-regular basis. The game also has a battlepass and almost 300 usd of dlc so they are good.

The grind for iri shards is abysmal. 9000 shards per character and you can't use them for licensed characters. New players would have to play the game for hundreds upon hundreds of hours to gain the 200,000+ shards required to unlock all the characters.

There are very few games that let you buy licensed games with the free currency as the company does have to pay the rights holders. The game has nearly six years worth of content and a buy-in price with the expectation that you'll either play the game a lot and thus will naturally acquire the currency or you will by the dlc packs which are fairly priced. Also it isn't as if there is a ton of things to spend shards on. If you get the dlc that is shards not spent on killer and survivor unlocks which means they are they for use on shrine and cosmetics. If you don't care about cosmetics then you're only buying perks out of the shrine which cuts your overall actual grind significantly.

Now if you aren't going to play the game very often it may not seem like a good value you to over buying boosters. To that I would say why pick this game then? Like it's already on the knife's edge between decent and pay to win.

Investing 100+ hours to farm shards enough to be able to buy one cosmetic seems a bit too harsh, that's why I thought offering a few extra xp boosts and shards to those who have enough time to play daily or prestige a character would be fair. Right now, the game rewards almost leaving your life behind so you can focus solely on DBD, which I somewhat understand, but still think is abusive.

So if not balancing the pricing on characters / cosmetics, why not offering other things to those with money and willing to spend it while making the grind just a bit easier?

Look at the Battle Pass, I seriously doubt it is doable in completion to someone who has to work 8 hours a day for the week and has a home to attend to and friends and such. And you might say, 'then buy it'. Agreed. To an extent. Because it still requires a crazy amount of time invested, so at least maybe they should reduce the price for completing it depending on the current level you are at

And then, Battle Pass rewards on themselves... Free Battle Pass is free, ok, and everything free is not to be taken for granted and appreciated instead. But the Bloodpoints rewards are so small, even in the end, for the time it takes to get them, that it's almost laughable... And there's little more for free. And the paid one... Yeah, the paid one is not bad, and so far you can buy one Battle Pass and get the following ones for free... As long as you complete every single one of them. For such a task, I don't know about you, but they could include some other bonus reward. If not Auric Cells, because of licensed characters and such, at leats Iri Shards.

Well, enough ranting, I'm sorry. That's my opinion on it.
