Killer button
I wish there was a button I could press to not play against certain killers. I absolutely hate playing against certain ones.

Then play a game that don't have those killers my dude.

I don't want to waste 15 to 30 min of my life and a killer and game I'm going to hate
0 -
But see I like the game and I like most killers
2 -
Then play killer, specifically one you don't hate. 🤷♂️
9 -
Learn how to play against the killer you hate. Either you tolerate that some people will play characters you don't like like a sane person and you learn to play against them, or you play a different game.

Then play the game and take the fact that you will have to deal with killers you don't like.

I'd agree if we also get a button to unselect "dead hard" as a selectable perk from survivors.
1 -
If i get to press a button to delete all of the perks i don't like, you can have your anti killer button
The only perks you're gonna be left with are red herring, pebble, flashbang and another pebble

What's the big deal if I just don't care to play a killer and others do. The only issue would be if nobody plays that killer and the would be because they're OP. And if you're mad about then you must be a OP killer main...
0 -
But Killers can be OP with OP perks and survivors just get a few OP perks... that doesn't quite add up but good try

Dead hard isn't even that hard to counter once you've seen it once but it seems that BHVR is listening and all but nuking DH. You're now going to face one kind of survivor and that will be the best of the best. Everybody that just plays for fun and isn't the greatest at the game are gonna be gone with the DH and med kit nerfs.

I do currently but after this next update nobody will play the game. Good luck

Well the game is about to get nuked. Only survivors that will play will be expert teams. Instead of just balancing the game by skill level they have just decided you kill it altogether for a lot of people.

This is pretty hard to implement because there's 4 survivors though, we can only speculate on how blocks will be distributed, but depending on that it might not increase queue times that much. When it comes to SWFs though, if every player in a SWF has their own block then they can block nurse, blight, spirit, and whatever 4th killer they think is best, and have drastically easier games which would be very unfair. If the entire SWF could only block 1 killer together, that might work, but I doubt BHVR wants to implement snowflake mechanics like that for SWFs.
Most games that let you block characters like Dota, League, do it in a lobby after matchmaking is done. And obviously, both teams get to do blocking to make things fair. This doesn't really work with current dead by daylight, you can't make it fair as-is.
A lot of people assume that it'd become impossible to find games as nurses and blights, but I dunno. I think the most common blocks would be skull merchant, legion, plague, hag, etc., especially if you only get one block. If you just block nurse blights will eat you instead, so it's futile to block the meta rather than the killer you can't stand most.

I can't believe DBD has died for the......
*checks timeline*
736th time.

Just the truth

Just like last time DBD died.
2 -
It's well beyond it's peak for sure Currently looking like our economy.

Well it was nice talking to you, shame you're not playing the game anymore but whatever.
Byeeeeeee.
1 -
I'm kinda curious though, which killers would you like to block?
1 -
You'll likely get your wish the moment killers can just "opt out" of playing against anyone in a SWF and only play against solo players.
2 -
I would be fine with that if it gives me a chance
0 -
How many times has this been suggested now?
0 -
Why even stop there? Just allow the only perk to be no mither
0 -
What killer do you want to opt out against?
If you pick Blight then you would only get Nurses; if you pick Nurse then you would just have all Blight games.
There's a reason the best players are only playing against Nurse/Blight when you watch a video from Hens looking at a 200+ escape streak.

Why it don't surprise me the "killers OP" guy just think the next patch would be the end of it because he just prefer to have a "block button" than learning how to play against some killers.
1 -
Because I'm good against some and not against other... pretty simple. And the next patch would destroy the game for a lot of people even if it's not you. Killer mains are the worst part of the game. You get everything you want but complain about DH instead of learning to play against ONE perk Well BHVR to your rescue again. POS
0 -
And you'll never learn how to play against the killers you are currently bad at facing if you refuse to play against them
1 -
I've been playing against them. They keep getting buffed and survivors perks are getting nerfed
0 -
If you literally don't pay attention to the patches over time then of course killers only get buffed and survivors only get nerfed.
1 -
This is not a good idea and should never be implemented.
What killer do you want to avoid? If you tell us we might be able to help you counter them so it isn't as bad when you get them.
4 -
Why I'm not surprised that you don't even understand what the patch was about or that you see "balancing the game" as "making it killer sided", either!
And don't tell me, you aren't good against the killers that you can't avoid simply by dropping pallets and pressing W like Nurse, would assume?
0 -
The patch is destroying solo healing, Regression perks are getting over nerf, I will say but some are definitely OP. 8 sec longer to heal? The games are either going to last forever or killer is getting a quick 4k, no in between. Flashlight changes not a big deal but pointless really. DH nerf is not great for those who suck at the game and want to have fun but not a huge deal but mixed with the healing changes is atrocious

I'd rather have something similar to map prevention, like not being able to face the same killer twice in a row for example. But I don't know how this would affect que times/mm.
0 -
Honestly, I don't mind blight and nurse. If they're good, it's at least a quick game and I move on to the next but if they're inexperienced then it can be a fun game. Knight is OP, Skull merchant is OP and I'm just not good enough to counter killers who throw or spit. I play this game for fun, and sometimes it's not.

while i get from where you come with that idea you forget one important thing.
there wil always be a killer that is considered to be the best/strongest by the majority of the community. thats does not even mean the killer is super op and unbalanced but someone has to be the best thats just how it works.
so now think about your idea what do you think will happen with this killer? ofcourse people who like to play that killer will have unbelieveble long q times because people will block that killer.
what now. do we nerv that killer even so he does not overperform? that would suck for people who like that killer. we could buff another killer to dethrone the best killer but that would just switch it from one to another.
in practice you cant have a killer block feature cause it would just be super frustrating for every killer player. just imagine what will happen every time a new killer comes out. people love to scream op at everything new cause they just had no time to adjust and learn yet. doesnt sound super fun right? you see the trailers for a new killer you are hyped af and then you cant play him for like three weeks till the majority of players ban another killer.
in the end a ban feature does not work well in a game like dbd. if there is a killer that drasticly overperformes its on the devs to see that and fix it.in your case where you just dont go well against certain killers it sucks but if you like dbd you need to power through that and learn to fight them. when i started dbd huntress was my nemesis. no other killer was that bad for me (well maybe nurse but she is in her only little realm bullshittery) but now i can stand against her and often even win.
1 -
Yes, absolutely nerf the killer that overperforms. I just want a killer that performs so that the game is fun for all. Otherwise, I'll play for hours hoping to get a fun game. Matches are becoming 30 min, especially in solo que and if not its because my teammates let me die on hook. The patch goes through and solo que is dead. I can play a lot other games for hours that will be more fun
1 -
i mean i dont know why games should not be 30 min. sounds like a solit time for a fun round. that ofcourse would mean that its actually fun.
if the games are to short that either means the killer is to strong or to weak. if gens would not be so god darn boring i would say games could be longer so there is more time for the actuall fun part and thats the chases. but thats dbds biggest flaw. there is only one killer for four survs only one can get into the fun at the same time so technically the survs would need a long objective that is fun at the same time wich is not easy to make and at the same time if everyone plays for the chases no matter how fun the objective is its not as fun as the chases and if its super dupper fun they would get anoyed by the killer

2 kills and 2 escapes is supposed to be the average. If it was 30 min of action then fine but it's not. Time is always in favor of the killer because 30 min games will mean. Not being able to completely gens because they're zoned, not doing gens because you're trying to find a teammate to heal, while in the mean time the killer is kicking gens down to nothing, trying to rescue a survivor and then heal and then do gens and without DH solo que is going to be a disaster. Long games aren't fun. 15 min is the max for me.
0 -
i just think shorter games make so many of the problems we have because the is just not enough time for everyone to get action not with a 1v4
0 -
Pretty sure the playerbase would unanimously block anyone playing leatherface. Can we just delete that killer instead? :) I've never met one that isn't a piece of trash human being.
0 -
I suppose one way of doing it is offering a reward for playing certain killers that don't have a very high pick rate. It would be like the killer/survivor bonus you get at the moment for whichever is most in need for matchmaking, except the killer one could be more specific. I see Wesker, Legion and Gunslinger pretty often, perhaps an incentive could get those players on to other killers, hmm maybe...
0 -
I was correct. This game sucks for the casual player with the med update. You better find the best place away from the killer and that's doesn't even matter. With nurses calling they are just going to find you before you finish anyway.
0 -
Wow. Can't wait to play against Trapper for an eternity.

I just had lengthy conversations in this forum about that very idea. Bottom line is, it cannot be realized without also introducing massive abuse potential.
You proposal is even worse: You write about blocking MULTIPLE killers, not just one. Just imagine what would happen to strong killers like Nurse, Blight or Spirit, if any survivor could block them as a batch. You wouldn't be able to ever play them again, or at least have to wait incredible long time to play them.
You could argue that this should only work for new players (less 100h or something), but even that could be abused by swf. There's just no simple implementation without risking massive queue times for certain killers.
1 -
It's simply the fact that I waste 15+ mins of my time playing against a killer that I suck against and isn't the least bit fun.
0 -
So? Either accept that you will get matched with Killers you don't like, or don't play.
Why should mains of those Killers get inflated queue times by allowing half the player base to block them? This is an incredibly selfish idea. 'I don't like Nurse, so Nurse players should get completely shafted by queue times to make me happy!'
And, of course, you turn around and say 'Killers blocking Survivors perks ain't the same'. So...selfish AND entitled; Survivors can block entire Killers, but Killers get...nothing. Because they're NPCs that have no right to have a fun game.
Fun games are a Survivor-only perk. Killer players exist for Survivor entertainment. That's all horrible ideas like this really say.

Current dbd is currently getting easier to quit so I probably will. Good luck finding matches

Oh yeah thanks for making my que time faster, less survivor is generally feasible in dbd.
