13 Things I'd rather the team would focus on rather than a new chapter

Here is a list of 13 things I wish the team would put their energy and focus into rather than a new chapter every few months. I feel like these things are more important than another batch of survivors and a killer, the game needs some core, base changes before adding more content that will then create more potential problems that also need fixing.

In no particular order...

  1. Updating old killer moris. There are many killers that still have first person moris that are also pretty lame... they deserve a new animation, especially wraith and trapper that have the exact same one of just wacking a persons back.
  2. Updating old killers character models, this was done with most survivors and I would love the same treatment with killers, the progress that has been character model quality is amazing and killers such as trapper, nurse and doctor, I believe were the only ones updated.
  3. This has been a constant ask from a lot of people... but there need to be some sort of implementation of anti tunneling and camping. Whether that means a new mechanic, base changes, incentives, preventatives, that's for the team to figure out, but it needs to happen sooner rather than later.
  4. UPGRADING perks rather than nerfing other perks to death to shift the meta. I wish they would update unused/bad perks more and make them more useful to warrant them getting picked over the current meta over killing peoples favourite perks to run. You can still shift the meta without making the current meta ones useless, or at least upgrade more perks than are being nerfed. There is a HUGE pool of perks that aren't ever used because so many of them are just unviable in most dbd matches
  5. To reiterate my point about the large pool of perks.... PLEASE add a search bar for perks... there are so many and having to keep looking for the perk I want page by page and missing it and looking through again, only to realise I don't have it on that character is a pain. Yes the pages are alphabetized however perk tiers are prioritized and idk what perks are what tiers on every character as not all my characters are p3, far from it actually.
  6. The auto bloodweb change that is coming is great. But it would be more great if you could prioritize certain items like specific addons, flashlights, toolboxes etc. I wish it also was a little faster and that there was an option to just let the bloodweb continuously spend your points until you tell it to stop, so I could just let it go while I do something else and didn't have to press the middle button every time when I'm just trying to level up a character.
  7. Attempt to give licensed characters some more outfits. Laurie has so many possibilities but has like 2 total outfits and I don't think has had any additional ones since being released, Quentin has 1, Myers has 1, sadako has 1, Yoichi has 1 and he has infinite possibilities as his outfits aren't restricted to a movies or show. And so many more characters, I just hate to see them in the same thing constantly, I wish they had more variety.
  8. Going off point 7, giving YOUR original characters that have been left in the dust, more outfits. Plague hasn't had one in ages, Haddie, Hillbilly, wraith, adam, jeff etc, they don't get outfits much at all. I get priority of popular characters, but y'know just throw one of em in the collecton everyone now and then, maybe they'd be played more if they had more options.
  9. Reworking least picked killers. There are killers that have great designs but fall short when it comes to their power and are therefore rarely picked. Plague has an amazing design and potential but because she is fairly weak, I rarely ever see someone play her, this is the same with twins, freddy, clown, pig, pyramid head and dredge... I rarely ever see them being played in my matches, or content creator matches. So it would be great if you revisited some weak killers and gave them some changes to the design of their power.
  10. Removing impossible to open the gate scenarios. First of all badham preschool gates are directly across from each other, it is close to impossible to escape in a 1v1 scenario without perks. Secondly killers that can trap exit gates making it impossible to escape in a 1v1 scenario and close to impossible in 2v1, such as trapper or skull merchant. Maybe this is an unpopular opinion but the fact that trapper can place traps directly at exit gates shouldn't be a thing, and skull merchant shouldn't be able to place drones right next to gates. This just makes it an impossible scenario to escape that you either have to accept death be killer or death by end game collapse if hatch has been closed. It feels a little silly to have no way to escape through the exit in a 1v1 if you are facing these 2 killers or any others that may be like that.
  11. Incentives for facing swfs. So at the end of a match you can be rewarded a bonus amount of bloodpoints for facing a swf that gives you bigger bonuses depending on how large of a swf. This will just make it feel a little less devastating when you get obliterated by a swf and receive little points.
  12. More events that give you earnable cosmetics. This only seems to be a thing for the lunar new year, anniversary, halloween, and winter. I enjoy collecting items by doing tasks/completing objectives in the game and I wish they had these types of events more often, maybe that's just me though.
  13. AND last but not least... nerf nurse.

These are just my personal opinion but I think a lot of people would agree with at least a couple or a few of these points.

    All very good suggestions.

    About part 5 I was going to make a big post with example of how to organize perk/addon pool (idea, of course, stolen from other games and revorked for DbD needs) with pictures and thorough description, but I doubt devs will read the post, let alone try to implement ideas, so I just grudged my time.

    Oh absolutely! Maps should definitely be apart of this list. And I'd love some more horror as well :)

    True unfortunately. I feel like this community has some up with some amazing ideas of how to implement certain things but bhvr has never implemented any of it and do their own thing. Maybe they have their reasons tho idk. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

    None of these ideas would warrant them to not bring another chapter and everything can easily fit into the current midchapter updates.

    i feel like they should stop trying to bring a new chapter with new characters and perks every 3 months because they need more focus on overall QoL and Game health as well as Quality Assurance without bloating up the roster/perks/balance more - but let’s be honest, people are already crying when a midchapter doesn’t bring enough ‚content‘ when it’s more focused on QoL and new chapters are a great income for BHVR..

    I feel like bhvr wouldn't have enough time to fit many of these things into a midchapter. Chapters tend to bring new perks, character models, killer power/mechanics and this list covers all of that and more. But maybe I'm wrong, I would just like the changes sooner rather than later but chapters seem to be their main focus right now.
