BHVR doesn't want survivors to have fun
Literally everything fun about survivor just keeps getting removed. Flashlight moonwalking/360ing is just impossible now. They made flashlights feel clunky to use just to appeal to 1% of the player base, and not even address the other flash issues in the game. There were other ways to go about with making the game more accessible to players with epilepsy, and they just make flashlights tacky to use. Locker saves are gone, which is pretty understandable considering it didn't have much counterplay besides go after someone else. Tunneling is at an all time high as there is no punishment for tunneling. And while in some situations tunneling is necessary, getting tunneled out of the match at 4-5 gens is just annoying. On top of unnecessary/over the top perk nerfs (Dead hard, Circle Of Healing, Spine Chill, just to name a few) survivor is becoming more and more unfun. Do I think the game will lose players? No. But the quality of the game is decreasing for both sides, and drastically for survivors.

I agree that lot of survivor kit, especially most oppresive ones like flashlights and CoH should be nerfed i'm also highly after the idea of nerfing camping and tunneling, those two should be adressed at the same time.
Nerfing survivors will not remove camping and tunneling on its own (tho those changes are needed), camping and tunneling should be adressed by bhvr.

Flashlights are fine lol
2 -
Most of the time, yes
0 -
When are they not fine?
The only case I can think of is if the survivor group made out of 4 very experienced player get to play against new player - denying him every hook. But that is not really a problem of flashlights, it's more of a problem of matchmaking.
(I am taking into account, that locker saves are no longer possible) - so did I miss something?

There is no counter for flashlight saves, yes this require skill but this is oppresive mechanic.
2 -
what? There's no counter? :D well. Let's agree to disagree then. Because facing the wall is the most primitive case. Having map awareness (knowing where nobody is going to be) is the second. Chasing away survivors in vicinity is 3rd.
Also I am usually very happy to see multiple beamers in my lobby. It means, that gens will not be done. It means survivors will probably waste time following me every time. So every successful hook is much more valuable then any hook in a game where beamers are not present.
Sure sometimes I do loose my price thanks to a very good outplay from survivors, but overall I can always track it to my mistake or some genuine good play from survivors. Still I would say time-wise it's usually beneficial for me as a killer, that survivors bring flashlights (because of cumulative time wasted) - provided matchmaking did not screw up bad (but in that case they don't need to bring any item usually).

Yeah. Lets agree to disagree.

killers should get some kills. Killer should always 4K. You see the difference? That should answer it...

In their current state flashlights are fine. You can avoid a flashlight save in most cases and in those that you can't then you can slug and chase the person with the flashlight.
People going down in a open place on purpose where you can't stop a flashlight save is just another strategy that survivors can employ to avoid getting hooked and is fine. If there were ways to stop every single flashlight play in the game (lightborn excluded because that's a whole perk slot for one effect) than what would the point be of having them in the game?

Reread my post since you clearly didn't get what I meant.

Did you think 1% of players used flashlights to be annoying and taunt? You're in a dream world. Frankly it was 30-40%, typically the worst players who can't loop but lulz i dropped a pallet
1 -
there was no reason to change flashlights and make them incredibly clunky. Either way if you got annoyed by survivor clicking that's not BHVRs issue lol.

I'm sorry, but if even only 1% of people now don't have to deal with potential seizures because of macro clicking pricks, then it's a good change and arguing against it just shows you have no problems with triggering an illness on someone because "You can't catch me ha ha".

I said it should be punished so that killers are less incentivized to do it. However, after exit gates are open it shouldn't be punishable to tunnel.

BHVR wants customers who buys their stuff. Its after all a company which works at this game to make money.
2 -
But with the recent changes, the game will draw newer players away, and effectively do nothing to people who are already experienced at the game.

Moonwalking isn't gone i can literally moonwalk halfway across the map. lol.

Epileptics didn't ask to have epilepsy, dude. You might wanna reconsider that statement.

Flashlights are not at all clunky you are just bad

Flashlights work fine now. Sounds like you just miss flashlight clicking.
2 -
And if I do? I mainly just miss being able to use flashlights to moonwalk/360

Wow.
I now know not to take anything you say seriously!
If you actually defend clicking... you are the definition of a toxic survivor main.
Please, no one but the toxic survivor players think the flashlight change actually effected anything. Just because you lost one way to harrass the killer doesn't mean you don't have more. Try head on

Newer players wont even read this patch-notes and therefore wont even know how it was before.

The negatives of even one person having an epileptic fit because of flashlights far outstrip the negatives of being kinda bummed you can't flashlight moonwalk anymore.

I’m glad you don’t have fun since you say such things about epilepsy.

>They made flashlights feel clunky to use just to appeal to 1% of the player base
you think binding fl on wheel and spinning it annoys only 1 percent of the players?

I main both sides so your pretty wrong lol

Cool idc pub bot

DBD stops being a game people can play if nobody wants to play killer.
As a role Killer has been kept 1 step away from miserable for the majority of its lifespan.

If you don't respond to arguments with anything except "your opinion is not important" than theres literally no reason for you to post on the fourms. Find the other 5 ultra-toxic survivor mains and go protest on how hurting people with a medical condition is good. I want to laugh at it.

I don't have epilepsy?
0 -
Since when was I hurting people with epilepsy? I said butchering flashlights was unnecessary, you said I wanna hurt people with epilepsy, that's a whole nother sentence .
0 -
Flashlights were not butchered just because you can't give someone a seizure anymore you actual monster.

^^^^^

I stand by what I said. The only people not used to flashlights by now either don't actually use them or hate the fact that they can't give someone a seizure.
3 -
Flashlights aren’t clunky to use at all. They weren’t butchered. Rapid clicking was not a necessary feature and didn’t make their intended usage any smoother.
Moonwalking and 360s aren’t gone whatsoever. Flashlights were never even intended to help for these mechanics.
Dead Hard, CoH and old Spine Chill were in dire need of nerfs and are still very much usable now.

Yes, I'm sure a video game company would make it their top priority to ensure 80% of the player base doesn't have fun. This is totally a good-faith argument.
0 -
You realize that if you click the flashlight a bunch at a player with epilepsy, they could have a seizure, right? Sorry, but if you clicky-clicky, you are hurting people with epilepsy.
2 -
At the time of the ptb of this flashlight change, many feedback proposals were given that would prevent the flashlights from appearing clunky, like putting the cd after 2 clicks or after the end when you release the button, which would not have affected all techs and advanced movements , in addition to having avoided messing with the muscle memory of the time of the saves and which continues to contribute to people with disorders, like epilepsy.
But anyway, I'm glad that little by little now they are giving more value to feedback from both sides, and if it were today maybe things would be different, at least they gave a small buff to the save times taking into account latency issues
0 -
Yeah they also could've simply made it to where if you click at the killer the sound gets muted after about 2 clicks. And / or they could make clicks not appear on the killers screen.
0 -
Someone gave you a serious argument why the flashlight was nerfed, but for you it's "because of 1% of the players I'm not having fun now", while the game becoming more inclusive for all players should be encouraged.
LMAO. The one who cries about the moonwalk and clicks with a flashlight calls someone a pub bot. Comp players don't care about that, do they? The pub bot who’s toy is gone will whine like you, not normal players.
