I don't want to tunnel. I don't want to camp. I don't want to three gen. I just want to chase. These changes won't fix these playstyles, only make them worst. 8 sec CoH heal? SWF abuse, why not just tunnel? DH still guaranteed? Camp then tunnel so you don't have to deal with it. Gen regression gutted? Protect your three gen since pressure is out the window.

CoH: You need to set-up a Boon, assume the Killer doesn't immediately snuff it, get injured, run to Boon and then heal. Oh, but double that time because another Survivor has to also run to the Boon and heal you.
DH: Not guaranteed. You still have to actually land it. It still doesn't work on some Killers. You don't get it at the beginning of the game. You also only get it twice and it deactivates if you miss.
PR: Still good. Not crazy, but definitely good.
8 -
After the update, probably not. Nice of you to assume my opinions lol
1 -
Yes!!! bhvr please bring the 24sec heal in xD that can't be... how can bhvr listen to the survivor mains i only have a hundred hours in this game and have no idea how bad that would be for the game, i'm still in favor of the bhvr as a test, leave what you suggested in the live game for at least 1 week, let's see if dbd dies from it or not, I find it sad too :/ bhvr please bring in the 24sec heal

Whether you're being sarcastic or not, gen-regress perks are just a necessity at higher-level/against coordinating SWFs
7 -
What do you mean 'free'? It costs a hookstate. That's not 'free'.
10 -
Duh.
"Against optimal players, you yourself must also play optimally." That's true.
99% of players don't play like that. You will not encounter them often and even if you do, a lot of times they're chill. The vast majority of players don't need more than one regression perk if they play smart. Problem is, most people just want an easy and chill game. So, they'll take the path of least resistance.
Like, I just played against a comp team a couple days ago as Artist. One gen regression perk, managed eight Hooks and two Kills on Ormond.
8 -
You can secure killer provress and inhibit survivor's.
The new numbers will still make it a solid perk.
0 -
How is this in any way evidence of good play? 2 escaped. Also, just because the majority of survivors are bad doesn’t mean we should look the other way when it comes to comp teams. It doesn’t justify getting the killer demolished by top % survivors.
4 -
If they wanted to make Pain Res a perk that encouraged not tunneling, they should have brought back the original feature of revealing the survivors who screamed when it went off. Put someone on a hook then immediately zip away to chase the survivors on the generator you just blasted. They removed that because it was too "oppressive" when you could pop Pain Res constantly but now it has a limit of 4 so why not bring back how it was originally designed?
Anyway, survivor nerfs reverted and killer nerfs remain, typical DbD update.
10 -
Could you state the first sentence differently please?
Yes, it does. We can balance for the top % but we should never balance around them. That's how you kill off the majority of the playerbase.
You'll find that when very good Killers and very good Survivors meet, it's actually fairly even.
The issue is that the matchmaker and MMR is not designed in a way that supports that.
6 -
Yes. Dead Hard is exactly the same, except that survivors will only use it 2 times a match instead of 3 times.
9 -
Woah woah woah, why you disrespect my man Spookyloopz like that? You totally left him on read.
0 -
Everything still got nerfed just not as badly.
0 -
I’m saying you are acting like 2k is something to be proud of when in fact it shows that you didn’t win. And once again, the idea that balancing around top level play would kill the game is nonsense. All other games do it, many of which are more successful than DBD.
5 -
I know this is going to blow your mind, but 'winning' isn't always fun. And fun games aren't necessarily 'winning'. Hell, even 'good' games don't always mean winning.
Personally, I'd much rather have games where I get good moments or good plays or, god forbid, even have a laugh with the survivors than sweat my balls off every match.
5 -
2K against an actual comp team while only running PR?
Idk, sounds like a W to me.
10 -
How many scourge hooks do you get on avarage in a match?
If you get 8 scourge hooks with the old PR you got 120% gen regression
With the new one you get 100% gen regression with 4.
I would almost say that it isn't a nerf anymore but a sidegrade. By the time the old pain res caught up in vallue you probably didn't need it anymore
2 -
No one wanted those atrocious healing changes. What we ACTUALLY wanted was those to go away in exchange for our regression perks not getting as severely destroyed, which didn’t happen. They literally gave survivors both benefits of the update which leaves killers with absolutely nothing to defend themselves against gen rush.
4 -
Such hyperbole.
Three regression perks were nerfed. Two of them needed it because comboing CoB and OC was OP, and Pain Res is arguably not nerfed all that much at all now. (PR currently takes 7 hooks to inflict 105% regression, if there's still gens left at 7 hooks you've probably already won, new PR will take 4 hooks to inflict 100% regression).
Meanwhile there's several other regression perks, and only one of those (Ruin) is too weak to bother with, the rest are entirely viable.
I never use CoB, OC or PR. I use Jolt, or maybe Thrilling Tremors, Corrupt on setup killers.
I haven't been nerfed at all, but my opponents who have had their self healing abilities decimated certainly have been.

This game would need a few radical changes in order to be balanced around top level play.
Traditionally, PvP games manage to attract a wide range of players by including both high and low-skill weapons/characters. The low-skill features are considered reliable, but they always have a lower skill ceiling than the high-skill features. This allows the game to naturally balance itself across multiple skill levels, as players engaging the low-skill features will inevitably plateau when they reach their skill ceiling.
DBD has high and low-skill Killers, HOWEVER, it does not have high and low skill Survivors. The Survivors' skill ceiling is determined by the map, which means in order for the game to be balanced at all levels of play, the high and low-skill Killers need to share the same skill ceiling.
If the low-skill Killers share the same skill ceiling as high-skill Killers, what you'll see is a large population of Killers reaching the game's skill ceiling before the Survivors, making the game favorable for Killer at low ranks.
If the high and low-skill Killers DO NOT share the same skill ceiling, one of two things happen. Either 1) the Survivors reach the skill ceiling before the low-skill Killers, and the game becomes favorable for Survivors at low ranks, OR 2) the high-skill Killers are granted a higher-skill ceiling than Survivors, and the game is no longer balanced at top level of play.
2 -
Thrilling is in no way shape or form a slowdown perk lmao.
2 -
How is everyone here saying DH now have a max of 2 uses when it activates for use after every safe unhook or getting unhooked yourself? So it still has potential for more than just 2 uses.
1 -
Of course it is.
It blocks gens (blocking gens is 4x as valuable as regression), it shows you where survivors are working on gens so you can pressure them off them, which means you can be sure no gens are being repaired while at least one survivor is hooked, with at least one going for the rescue, and at least one currently being chased. Maximum of one survivor (potentially no survivors) repairing at any given time.
Effective pressure is the best slowdown.
3 -
It's also 25% regression guaranteed to hit the most progressed generator, vs Pop where you could be using it in the wrong place and not know until it's too late, Jolt, where you might be in the wrong place at the wrong time, or Eruption, which the gen might be completed before you get your down.
0 -
It doesn't.
It only activates after you get unhooked now.
10 -
No way.
Its a horrible perk design, as if you go get the perk value you probably will lose the game. If Pain Ressoance were not a scourge hook i could agree with you. But being a scourge hook knowing how much busted the RNG is absurd. Sometimes the hooks spawn right next to the gens that survivors works first. If you don't have corrupt intervention, you problably will lose all the scourge hooks value (or you will need to chase survivors in a region with no generators to MIGHT get some value of a scourge hook).
Even if Pain Ressoance were 35% with this rework it wouldn't be worth it, as you would use only 2 to 3 tokens as much as Scourge Hooks are a pain to use.
PR is a quite fair perk, especially since its a RNG based perk. If they really wanted to "shake the meta", they could just keep the nerfs to DH and CoH with the gen kick perks + PR, not buffing CoH % and maybe reworking DH into another thing than a exaustion perk.
0 -
Your assuming that the down happens by a SH and even if you do get a SH you better hope there's a gen at least 25% if not you just wasted a token on a gen with like 10% progress. I see people saying run agitation or IG but that's dumb because I have to run 2 perks to make 1 perk viable and then 1 of them is a dead perk so I brought the second perk to make my dead perk useful.

These streamers are far from "killer sided" they are what i like to call "Survivor main apologists" where basically, they are ok with things generally being like they are, because they think this game should be balanced around "average" players, and not top tier players.
Take a look at ones that actually think that this game should be balance in a way that makes it balanced for the top tier players like tru3ta1ent. And you'll start seeing a different side of things.
4 -
What's considered early in the match? You can easily lose 2-3 gens in the time it takes you to find, chase, then down your first survivor. I'm not even taking onto account toolboxes or gen perks.
2 -
I am once again stating that I dislike people bringing up content creators because I am not allowed to criticize them.
9 -
But this goes for most of the perks. They have a temporary function most of the time. You can use BW, NOED, Adrenaline, Unbreakable etc only once, and then it's wasted perk slot.
@ OP, DH is now basically another version of BT and OTR. It has zero value before hooking a survivor, so no extending chases early-game, and so on.
1 -
Great for you, I play to win.
2 -
Sorta like how Fog whisperers can't criticize DBD or the team?
3 -
And now that you don't have to worry about a DH from the start initial chases shouldn't be as long.
1 -
If showing you were survivors are repairing gens then by that standar spies of the shadows and discordance, even wispers is slowdown, and yes it does block gens that NO ONE is repairing so idk what it is slowing down exactly.
0 -
Except survivors still have all there resources, all pallets are still up,most breakable wall are still there(unless you waste time breaking them all). There's also the fact that survivors can not jump right on a gen and wait for the killer to run by and then start the gen adding more time before the first chase start.
0 -
It's honestly better than before lol 100% max gen regression with new pain res vs 120% with old (not counting hooks after a survivor dies) it has nearly the same level of progression for half the hooks. it's only worse if you're a no brain hard tunneler, since you can no longer trigger it on already hooked survivors
4 -
Well I don't know about you but when I play killer first gen gets done no matter how short my first chase is so that 25% will be very useful most of the time.
0 -
It's slowing down overall repair... because you can't get onto a gen that's blocked regardless of whether it's being actively repaired or not.
1 -
I agree but I actually think they could bit slowed down altruistic healing like make it 18-20s or revert call of brian nerf.
0 -
They can, they just need to be careful about it, I think. It needs to be constructive.
I can't really say anything when it comes to certain content creators that people like to bring up. I've seen people banned for that and I'm not trying to follow suit.
2 -
I hope BHVR don't get this thread as an actual feedback because the OP doesn't understand that Dead Hard is even more dead after this dev update.
2 -
and then they will release another paid DLC with OP perks.
The perks will not be nerfed to get people to buy the DLC, Once everyone pays for the new chapter, they will nerf the perks to the ground, and repeat the cycle.
0 -
I like how they effectively buffed healing by adding TONS of healing speed everywhere, while pretty much killing regression perks lmao
This is EXACTLY what "buffing SWFs while nerfing solo survivor" is, I really like the balancing of BHVR.
"infinite" when a perk clearly require a hook.
0 -
then the devs should buff passive regression. Like Ruin and Pain res
0 -
I did not say these a killer sided, but they're killer mains
The killer saided I mentioned is SpookNjukes.
1 -
True, or maybe not revert it but rise its numbers a little again, especially since toolboxes came out of this unscathed.
Probably a matter of time ! Though most of them are ok enough, just... BNP should definitely go. I could see it have a more passive effect like "if you use BNP on a gen, for the next x amount of time kicking it/perk effects will not make it regress passively beyond a few seconds". That would be useful on 3gens but not boost the actual repair speed in the early game.
Just spitballing though, I haven't given it deep thoughts on balance and such, haha.
0 -
This patch will 100% enable genrushing due to the nerfs to gen regression remaining pretty much unchanged. It's beyond me why BNP/toolkits or perks like Prove Thyself aren't seeing ANY nerfs while gens are literally flying nowadays. The devs are without a doubt siding with the survivors when it comes to gen progression in this game.

-"CoH: still nerfed, DH: still nerfed, Medkits: still nerfed"
Let's look at the big picture since the 6.1 patch.
What killer things got Obliterated?
Pop, PR, Eruption, Ruin.
What killer things got better : 2 stacks of stbfl for free (make the perk base kit /cough).
What things for survivor got Obliterated?
CoH and medkits got nuked but they 100% deserved it. Green medkits healing in 8 seconds is beyond stupid when it takes 20-30 seconds to get a hit vs a strong player.
What got better for Survivor?
They got 10 seconds of BT base kit so now nobody runs BT. Survivors always have 5 perks now and the killer has 4 perks. That means the game is 20 perks vs 4 perks.
What got a slap on the wrist twice?
DH will still be a stupid strong perk. It needs to get equal treatment to what happened with Ruin, PR or Eruption to the point that its usage goes down to 5% or lower.
