A perk that lets the killer break an undropped pallet.
There's too many pallets in the game. Most maps have an abundance of resources. A big part of playing killer well is trying to zone survivors into parts of the map where you can end chases fast. Having a perk that let you break an undropped pallet would be extremely useful and a great chase perk. You could make it have some requisite like Spirit Fury, where you need to break 2 already dropped pallets, or maybe give a minute-long cooldown, etc. But this would be an awesome perk idea that isn't a slowdown.

We went over this idea multiple times already. Pallets are by far not created equal. This is not a good perk even if you consider huge CD time (I think it would not be balanced even if it was token based). Don't like the idea. Let killer earn his pallets instead of just winning by default.
Also some map can have like 7 pallets. That's not much by any standard

as soon as the killers lost the generator regression perks, the survivors began to complain about the chase perks (sbfl) so don't worry even if the perk works 1 time per game, the survivors will cry that there are too few pallets on the gideon and this perk will be destroyed

I like the idea but the problem is when I play killer I would just go straight to shack and break it. They don't need to give us this perk, they just need to balance the pallets on the maps we have.

Like you mean DH nerf didn't even go live yet and killers complain about sprint burst already? That's just natural. Both sides have ppl like that.
And Gideon (btw I am convinced that map is on average now killer sided - especially if the killer chooses the map with corresponding build/killer. Overall very bad design for a map that punishes slow M1 killers that don't have power that helps with pallets and autowins others) without 1 pallet would not be so bad. Do the same thing in Rotten Fields, and the game is GG.

How is this a bad perk idea? There's plenty of b-tier chase perks in the game already. This perk design would reward smart usage. Sure, you could use it to take out shack. Or you could use it to destroy one of the million filler pallets that some maps get. On a map like Gideon -- which is a garbage map design anyway -- this is almost a wasted perk slot. On a map like Wreckers, it would be a great perk.

Exactly. That's the reason why I don't like the perk. Also this perk would be also indirect buff to WoO, because u will just never know. Because of a perk that changes interactions from observing your surrounding to just pure luck.

This would still be a useful chase perk. People will run WoO regardless of this perks existence within the game. It's like when people say "New Dead Hard just encourages tunneling." Tunneling will always be viable. WoO will always be useful. The ability to break undropped pallets would make some of these broken, OP loops more manageable for M1 killers.

Oh it will raise kill rate. That I am sure of. The thing is - if it leaves the taste of "what is this bullshit", then maybe it's not the way to go?
Imagine if survivors had a perk that could construct (even trash) filler loop. Or if they could repair pallets. Would you be ok with that? Because me as a killer would absolutely not be ok with bloodlusting shack for a long time just so that survivor throws that pallet just to see it back in game in next chase.

This is my biggest issue if this perk becomes a thing, actively going out and searching for pallets that will be the most annoying in the future.
The correct thing to do is to change the pallets so that they're at a much more reasonable number on the maps where they get into the 20's, not introduce a perk that makes maps with 8 pallets absurdly killer sided.

Haha🤣 I would never thought there would be a post like this one but yeah being able to break a pallet before it drops would be literally getting rid of all chase mechanics. As a killer assuming this wasn’t a perk you could go around the whole entire map with that one oni perk that lets you see windows and pallets and just destroy all of them. If this was a perk the cool down would be massive as not really earn and useful as by then the survivors would have already dropped the pallets.

Comments like these are why I really wish there was a forum with like 10+ devotion requirement to post.

The perk idea would indeed be awful, devs should just balance maps not make bandaid broken perks

Devs are incapable of balancing maps. Ex. every rework and map in the last 2 years.

As a wise man once said the best day to fix dbd maps was 6 years ago, the 2nd best day to fix maps is today

I don't think the DbD map design team even has a remote idea of what balance could possibly mean. Look at Eyrie, GoJ, Shattered Square and Mother's Dwelling Rework.

bro...
7 PALLETS?
nah bro there way more than this

Count number of pallets in Thomson house (note that there's RNG - it can be more then 7) - similarly coal tower, wrecker's yard and other maps.
Number of pallets varies greatly depending on map and RNG.
