Yet another "Skull Merchant is still a problem" thread
Every game that I've been required to play as Skull Merchant for the tome shows her power is still a problem.
Playing as her, if you don't set up your drones at a tight 3 gen and guard only that area, you will nearly always lose handily.
However, playing like this also results in boring 30+ minute games that are basically in a stalemate until one side gives up from boredom.
I don't know how this killer can be fixed. I literally have no ideas, because her power is such a mess. If you remove her ability to 3 gen stalemate, she becomes the weakest killer in the game. Unfortunately I think she needs a complete ground up redesign. Sorry BHVR.

Completely agree. For 3 years that I have been in the game, I can say for the first time that the killer needs to be completely reworked, and not just adjusted. She is completely garbage in everything besides camping gens with her power. Her last update didn't make literally anything overall. The only killer I don't want to play for even from time to time.

This killer is poorly designed.
It has access to a lot of information it cannot act upon.
Like, SM looks at PAD: "Ah yes, y'all healing at that CoH boon, shame I have to baby sit this gen!"

That's truly the cherry on top of the sh#t sundae that is Skull Merchant's design.

I think we need to delete her, forget she existed. Everyone needs a partial refund.

I think they need to bite the bullet and give her an actual chase power. Then make her drones wander around the map randomly instead of being stationary.

I mean, as much as I dislike her visual design and backstory, I still think that the core idea of using flying drones to create unique interactions can be cool.
I just wish they were more like those flying drone guardians from Zelda: Breath of the Wild. Imagine a drone flying around the map, either Nemesis' zombie style or Knight's "create-a-path" style, where if they lock on to you after staying in their detection zone for too long, they start shooting projectiles that survivors have to dodge for a short time or else get injured. And every match with Skull Merchant spawns a few piles of stones or trash cans around the map that survivors can rummage through to get a rock or bottle (some kind of special killer item like Sadako's tapes), to throw at the drone to stun it or distract it.
I don't think that alone would be enough for a killer, the killer herself would probably need a secondary power, but doesn't that sound like a killer concept incorporating flying drones that doesn't suck ass?

My best advice is to treat her as Legion.
We just don't heal. So what if you are exposed, it doesn't matter when you are injured.
But I agree her design is not good at this time at least. Release this, right after Knight. What could go wrong...
Let's hope anniversary will be something good.
