The second iteration of 2v8 is now LIVE - find out more information here: https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/kb/articles/480-2v8-developer-update

Chase Music is OBNOXIOUSLY loud.

When you're chasing Survivors in DBD, currently the chase music is loud enough to cover for footsteps, moans and even generator repair noises. This should not be a thing.

The fact that the music in the background is louder than the things that matter is definitely not a balancing decision, and we should have the liberty to adjust the volume.

Especially on audio dependant Killers like Nurse, the constant ######### going on is a horrible thing. This needs to be an accessibility setting.

devs have stated in the past that the chase music masking Survivor sounds is an intentional balance decision to give Survivors a chance to escape the killer.

yeah, i have no idea why at bare minimum there isn't a slider for the chase music yet, it seems silly. if they're not going to tone it down themselves they should let us do it for them. i wonder if it's similar to the fov slider and that they "think it will give an advantage". shrug.

And this is why accessibility is a one last thing DBD has lol.

Even smallest inconvenience like this is "intentional design" for some reason.

How is this accessibility? This is 100% all in all JUST about balance. If the sound is too loud, then make it more quiet. Otherwise it is intended for footsteps to NOT be the loudest thing in a game.

This is so absurd, as saying survivors should not be slower then killer - as it makes no sense. Survivor runs for his life and would 100% run quicker then killer so it should be accessibility setting to set survivor speed....

But I agree with 1 thing - nurse chase music indeed is too loud IMO

I call bullshit on the “it’s for balance”

because ANY OTHER TIME during the game when NOT in chase you can hear ALL the surv & killer sounds: survivor footsteps, Myers breathing, ghost face cloth sound, nemesis stomping , etc

Its time to implement a volume slider.

Hell, even if it's "for balance" there is no reason to NOT just change it and "carefully monitor it for months" just like when they wrecked everything in the past, and I'm mostly sure it WILL NOT affect the game as much as they think.

Well if chase music only was the only thing devouring sound effects. A single wall silences generators lol.

Whenever the devs touch the general sound setting, they make it like 10-20% worse for killers.

Do that and my spirit will be unstoppable (and I am only good with her, there are better spirits). Flashlight blinds would be totally meaningless (you can already follow people when blinded, but you can get stuck - which you would figure out super easy without). Also no mind games at loops, because as survivor I will know where u r precisely (right now I can do that only against nemesis - but good nemi could be ok with it because of his ability. Say legion would suffer bad).

If the sound is overall too loud, just lower your overall sound settings. I am certain there is option to do that

IIRC, there was a time when the chase music was muted due to a bug and the only side effect was me having 20x more fun on killer because I've put on 'Baby Got Back' by Sir Mix-a-Lot in the background
