Onryo buffs/changes
I think that the onryo right now is not in a healthy position. While the nerf to selfhealing and coh put her in a better spot with hit and run strategies. Most ppl still play her in a super boring way. Sadako with ring drawing and iri videotape is super boring to face. It would be good to buff her basekit and some of the add ons and nerf some of the better ones like these two above.

Also once they implement basekit unbreakable (hopefully this year after these healing nerfs we just got) this Sadako gameplay will be completely obsolete too. They really need to find a way to buff her addons or base mechanics.

So you want to nerf the unique playstyle and instead force players to play as a mediocre version of demo/freddy. Neat.

I don't know what world you've been on but that entire set of changes was universally rejected by the community and that dumpster fire of an idea is completely scrapped.

They have literally no plans to do that lmao, where did you hear this?

They said that basekit unbreakable would not be launched last year after its ptb, the game was clearly not ready for it because killers like Twins for example would underperform massively. They need to rework such killers in order to launch it, so once that happens it would be good to go.

With tweaks it was a good system, the community who rejected it were players who just slug for the sake of it or have bias towards killers that strongly relay on slugging due to their design (such as Twins, you can find good videos on Youtube of that ptb for Twins), so it's understandable it didn't make it to live because of that. With the Nurse nerfs to prevent her from finish the game in 2 minutes and tweaks on slugging killers and end-game activation, basekit unbreakable would be good to go.

No. Killers need to slug. It's one of many strategies that, regardless of is the poor little survivors don't like it or not, have to be used sometimes.
And it's funny because the reason why the patch was rejected in the first place wasn't just because of the dumb changes to survivors. It was also because of that stupid instant loss system. The system actually encouraged slugging even more if you could feasibly speed run the game and down all of the survivors quick enough to beat out the recovery speeds.

There was a proposed system a long while back that made it to the testing phase but got trashed shortly after. It involved 2 different new mechanics. The first was basekit unbreakable with like a 32 second self pickup time or something. The second was an automatic killer win condition where if all survivors were downed then the game would instantly end and pan to a cinematic shot of the killer mori'ing the last survivor to go down.
The basekit unbreakable was terrible enough but the change for killer heavily incentivized trying to slug to get the insta win.
This guy somehow thinks it's still in development. I had honestly forgotten about it until I even read his comment.

Yeah I knew that I just wondered what made him think it was still going to happen lol

No, it was mostly because it was easily abusable for sabo plays
The killer can't hook if the hook is broken and the others are too far so they can only leave them slugged, and if they can get up just like that, then there's no risk

What makes you think they didn’t just decide not to do it?

The Iri Videotape mechanic should be part of her base power if anything, why nerf it? Addon-less Sadako gets punished for using her teleport (shuts down a tv for 100 seconds), which hurts her more than survivors turning TVs off (cooldown of 60 seconds; survivors are much better off just not touching TVs and hiding if they hear Sadako teleporting to them).
I understand that teleport has a longer cooldown to prevent tp spamming, so instead of changing the cooldown times themselves, which could result unbalanced in either direction, you have Iri Videotape which rewards Sadako players for teleporting wisely and getting a hit quick. You cannot use Videotape to spam teleports because it won't work unless you activate it, and to active it you have 8 seconds to hit somebody after teleporting - and most survivors are already on the run when the teleport animation starts. Iri Videotapes is a band-aid that makes Sadako's teleport power worth using more than 3 times a match, and if you see it on Condemned Sadakos it's not because it encourages slugging and boring playstyles but just because it's really just her best add-on overall and it's almost required to make use of her power.
Playing for Condemned kills is already viable, effective and fun without slugging at all now that self-healing has been nerfed. A couple of strategic slugs used to be necessary to guarantee altruistic healing actions, since self-healing was so strong. I rarely played Condemned Sadako because I didn't want to slug, but now I play strictly Condemned while still hooking and never slugging and I get good results. Being good at managing teleports is what's
IMO the best thing to do would be to have Ring Drawing not spread Condemned when picking up a downed survivor anymore, and have Iri Videotape basekit. Current Iri Videotape turns on 4 TVs when activated; maybe have basekit Videotape turn on 3 TVs and the Iri add-on turn on 5 or something like that. This way you kill off the only boring aspect (slugging) of the ideal Sadako playstyle without nerfing her powers to the point of only being useful as a boring M1 killer like Freddy.

That system is unlikely to ever see live servers.
It was mode with Mori system to balance it, but both had mostly negative feedback.
Issue is that Mori system helped already strong killers, but weak killers had little to no benefit.
Mori system would create a new challenge, where basically killer is going to only slug and try to trigger automatic Mori in time.
It's not really fun to play against that.
Basekit unbreakable would screw Plague, Oni, Twins, Myers a lot.

Jep super fun. Just as amazing as 3 gen SM and Knight

Yeah my whole point was about players using it to slug. I used the tape myself already and with this her playstyle gets much more fun but getting slugged until you get fully condemned or you bleed out is just super boring😅

Actually yes it is fun. Cause you still get chased, you can still loop. And you can still outplay the condemn if you're actually skilled. There's also no tunneling and no camping of the survivors on hook. Literally the 2 biggest complaints survivors have had since the dawn of time and this playstyle removes those problems yet you still call it boring.
If you've been slugged the entire match that means you were dead to begin with. If you're going down a lot then any other killer would've killed you, and if you've been slugged long enough to bleed out that's nothing to do with the killer and everything to do with bad teams.
Perhaps if you were running unbreakable you could recover fast and someone could have you up in no time at all. Or even run boon exponential, maybe even both.

I understand, and I agree that changing Ring Drawing so it doesn't work on slugs would be a great idea, but changing Iri Tape at all would probably nerf Sadako as a whole to the ground, that's why I don't think it should be touched. Slugging being viable for Condemned depends entirely on Ring Drawing

Her basekits needs buffs. A killer that is only good with iri add ons is very sad😅

I never complain about camping and tunneling but slugging with sadako is just boring for me. What should I do as a solo player when 2 survivors are slugged and i try to pick them up. Sadako teleports back and downs her again bc she runs into her arms. After that she chases me while the last survivor selfcares in a corner. Almost every Sadako match I played were a sluggfest with 0-1 hook. Nobody got any points and everyone deranked.

How is that any different than camping or tunneling? If she were hooking survivors they'd have been dead by the third down. With this strategy you're alive for longer and can outplay death entirely by cleansing condemn. You yourself admitted that your teammates are just running into her and giving her free downs, so it's not that the killer is problematic but rather your teammates are bad at looping. In which case you shouldn't be blaming the playstyle.
