Suggestion: Perk Overhaul

I have a big concern towards perk quantity.

Each character brings 3 perks to the game, there is tons of perks from which lot of them shows up extremally often, and some almost never, its both quality and quantity of those perks, but because there is so MUCH perks in the game, there is no way to adress all of them and make all of them equally viable. This will be even harder and more difficult the more perks will be in a game. At some point, all ideas of perks will be used up, and all we will be left are small changes in numbers, and maybe trigger effects.

Its inevitable. But can be stretched in time.

Solution will be hard to achive will shake the meta entirely, and lot of people will not be happy about it, but i really cant see other solution, maybe except releasing dbd2...

Cut number of perks to 1/3. Each character should bring only 1 new perk.

This change will require removing most perks from the game, rething existing ones, and decide wich of them should belong to starting characters, wich should be common perks, and which will be signature perks for characters.

Like Claudette bringing only botany knowlege, Meg will bring Sprint burst, and Dwight leader. Some of more important perks could be left as common perks belonging to none character, but all characters should bring only 1 perk.

Now im w8ting for hates. But i really hope that devs will see this suggestion and thing about it BEFORE perk ides runs off.

maybe in the future they will give a limited amount of perks when a new chapter comes, but for now, I think that 3 perks for each chapter is already good.

Remove perks? No. You can condense a lot of them while buffing bad ones at the same time. Combine the effects of premonition and lightweight, for example.

This one would be bad from PR perspective. they cannot start developing characters that have less perks than previous ones.. Imagine how would it looks like.

That's mostly an issue with how many chapters per year they produce. (with varying amount of survivors)

I wonder if dbd would take a hit in playerbase if they skipped atleast one chapter to work on game health and other things.

Why make it a rule when technically it's akready part of the game?

Like don't google it - and tell me all 3 perks Vittorio has (quite a new character so you should have looked it up recently).

But say you do remember all 3 of them. I am pretty convinced you basically never use one (so it might as well not exist), tried out second only to realize it's numbers are so safe, that it makes no sense to ever use it and maaaybe you use the third one from time to time in rare occasions (and now you can name which perk is which without me mentioning their abilities).

The point is - they technically released 3 perks, but in practice they did 1 + something to fill their archives...

Same can be said on average for all survivors AND killers

And this is the example of how it will looks like in future, but instead of one good perk and 2 meh ones, there all will be meh ones because ideas of good perks will runs out.
