Let me see the killers name in the Lobby.
Hi all,
I want to be able to avoid certain players who make the game a really unfun experience/who are VPNing and then create a horrible experience for everyone involved with lag. I don't want to know what killer they are playing, but I feel we as players have a right to know who we are playing with/against. Anonymous names particular are the main offenders.
Let me take control of my own experience more.

counter idea: Just let me see their ping. not only if it is "red", but eitehr teh exact value ur al least green and yellow too.

this would work too, but I also want to avoid people who play in a really unhealthy way (slugging out for the entire duration at 5 gens etc)

Just record the footage and send it to support in a player report after the fact.
Lag switching is a bannable offense.
Problem solved forever (or somewhat definitively)
2 -
It's not solved, the likes of VPN users are not bannable, and the report process is hell for console users. You can't just report and then that be that, you have to get your cloud id, take videos, report in game and then upload to a seperate platform, then get the link and give it to them.
I'm not sitting reporting players every few games when I can just avoid playing with them, it shouldn't be MY job to support players of this game, I'm not getting payed to do this.

don't report them and watch them not get banned.
It's on you at this point.

Hmm...a TTV killer...
*checks Twitch*
*Equips the best build against their choice of killer*

Can you guarantee that noone will abuse such a feature by just avoiding killer players who play a killer they dont like, or that just plays better than them? IF you can, i am all for it. If you can´t, then see those things as argument why it shouldnt be done.
1 -
I'm sorry, I just said I do report them, VPN users cannot be banned. It's not a bannable offence.
Wow it's like Survivors don't suffer from this all the time, and streamers use perk hiders anyways
everything is abusable, much like how ping is abused and we can't do anything about it, this is just giving players the tools to protect themselves. particularly console players honestly.
2 -
Yes, but then you have to balance the possibility for abusal vs the fair use of said tools. And this tools would be abused, especially since you yourself stated you would protect yourself from "unfun" playstyles, which by the devs are totaly legit.

isn't this what a lot of killer players do when they see a survivor ttver mate?
4 -
My name has the killer I’m playing, and I’d get lobby dodged constantly. Lol
0 -
Knowing that a survivor is using the same exact meta perks everyone else is using is not nearly as game breaking as knowing what killer you're going up against.
Also "Other people can do it, why can't I" is never a good argument.
0 -
What's the point of this when we have an "anonymous mode"? literally none, nothing, at all.
0 -
Why are you going out of your way to learn your opponents are using the same meta perks everyone else is using?
0 -
??? Who said I did that lmao. I said that's what killer players do currently because they can have that advantage over the survivors to see their profiles and if it's a ttver they can see they're live and see their build, etc. It's not fair content creators have to go anonymous (might get targeted because of that as well) and don't get engagement on their channels and killers can freely get promo because they don't need anon mode (can't snipe an already ended game). It should not be a thing for either side.
1 -
They should hide everyones name if they won't show the killers name honestly, why does the killer get to see who they are up against player wise, but not the other way around? Like everyone should be treated fairly, especially if we are going down the "competitive" route the devs are taking this game.
3 -
I kinda feel like any feature people want explicitly so they can lobby dodge shouldn't be implemented.
2 -
it's a valid take, but we killers can dodge based on items/prestige/player name So it's already being done and it messes with the matchmaking as lobbies get backfilled.
1 -
Sure, but those are already in the game, and some of them maybe could/should be removed. The idea that it's already being done by some players so it's okay for it to be done by more doesn't really work when the thing itself is actively bad.
1 -
Can't use that on Xbox

You are correct, the reason I suggest it be added is the killers connection is such a huge factor in the enjoyment of the game, and the block system doesn't work as intended for players who harass you. Ontop of that the customer support do not deal with people who use game mechanics to troll/grief (Slugging and juggling you all match, spamming m1 on you on hook while struggling to pause the timer) As I've tried reporting it.
One solution would be to show the killers ping, the other would be to add names so you can avoid players the block list fails to protect us from.
Or we can remove all names and ability to see survivors who they are playing and everyone goes in not knowing what they are up against even while in the match. (you can't see the killers name in the match either btw)

I’ve reported several people with video evidence on pc and I think it’s super annoying that I have to go out of my way to prove someone was cheating or behaving in an unfair manner. I’m sure it’s worse for console. It sucks that we get screwed playing with those kind of people and we have no way to leave the game without penalizing ourselves. Then we have to spend 15 minutes doing this lengthy report that bhvr should be able to figure out on their own.

There's a solution to not getting sniped
You go to steam. You mouse over your name. You click "Profile". From there you go to the right and click "Edit Profile". And under Profile name you delete "TTV".
Hell, you might get people willing to play with you more often if you do that.

Didn’t they say slugging survivors and not advancing the game is holding hostage? You can’t just slug us and wait for us to bleed out.
0 -
Slugged survivors die eventually.
Holding the game hostage is stepping in a doorway the survivor now can't get out of.
0 -
The best way to remove it is to get rid of the lobby altogether. Q up with your items and perks and addons and load straight in to the match. I already hate it when that one person just refuses to ready up. You should be ready when you Q up.
0 -
no they dont. The first part of your sentence is not related to the second, because slugged survivors bleed out, and therefore it ends after 4 minutes, and this is not holding the game hostage. so yeah, you actually can be slugged and bleed out, and if you would block players that do that, then you got your answer why its not coming right there.
0 -
Except they did say holding survivors slugged for 4 minutes without hooking them is holding hostage. I don’t know how it makes no sense to you. I’m guessing you bleed out survivors.
You have to advance the game. Standing over 4 slugged survivors who can’t do anything but lay there is not advancing the game.
0 -
You can slug then, juggle the survivor back on their feet, and keep downing if they try to do anything to prolong the 4 minutes massively. if the hatch is closed there isn't really a way to avoid it when you are the last survivor.

So the killers keeps getting their perks nerfed every patches and now survivor mains expect yet another shadow nerf through pre-game information denial.
Man... BHRV should just open the gate at the start of the match and just give killers a loss every games then!

Killer on its own should not be known untill game started.
But killer name would be great if visible. Or other way around - survivors names should also be invisible.
But in 1st scenario. If anonymous mode is active then names should just not be shown instead of showing the character name.
