Anti-Slug - Unbreakable base-kit?
I don't pretend to understand the devs mindset, as their game has been terribly mismanaged for 7 years now. The killer is, for some reason, the administrator of the game. Which means, the game goes, as the killer wants. If the killer wants to slug everyone from the beginning, they can. If they want to facecamp, they can. If they want to tunnel out a single person to make the game easier for them, they can. If they want to play with decency and skill, and not play scummy, they can. To add to this, the killer can see the survivors and what they are bringing in the lobby, but the survivors are blind to everything about the killer pre-match. The game is very lopsided to the killer.
Point being, the devs need to take away administrator rights from the killer. This is a game. Limits should be placed on both sides. You should HAVE TO play within a certain ruleset. Right now, its just a free-for-all with the killers having the keys.
Devs placed Borrowed Time as basekit to try and stop tunneling. This tells me that the devs understood (eventually) that tunnelling is an issue. Unfortunately, tunnelers just wait it out. In a previous suggestion, I suggested that this (before exit gates are powered) be extended to unlimited time... or maybe just a full minute. As stated, either they start helping the team (which cancels the BT) or they don't and they become useless to their team until that BT wears out. I don't see any issues with making this change, logically.
Following suit, Devs need to allow survivors to get themselves up. Not exactly Unbreakable, as that also speeds up the progression. But if a survivor is left on the ground for a full minute, let's say, there is no good reason why they shouldn't be able to just get themselves off the ground. Clearly, the Killer didn't have enough skill to actually play the game right and decided to just slug everyone. This is not fun (to the survivor at least... not sure about the 10 year old killer doing it) This is a detriment to the game. This needs to be addressed. Do I expect it to? No. Please go above and beyond my expectations and make your game better.... Do something to stop game-allowed cheating.
On the survivor side... I guess SWF's are the major problem for Killers. I wouldn't know. I have only ever played in solo queue. So, to make it right for Killers... after you fix the game and take away their cheatey admin rights, do something to nerf SWFs. The game uses Steam's friends list to join, right? I'm sure there are ways to code nerfs into the game if a survivor team has 3 or 4 'friends' in the lobby.

If survivors want to genrush, they can.
If survivors want to hide all game, they can.
If survivors want to play full power struggle builds and deny any hook, they can.
Both groups can play however they like. Game is far from only in killer's control. Only one who is not in control are bad players and soloQ. But SWF is in equal position as the killer.

You see, here's your problem. You're taking your subjectivity and attempting to apply it as an objective standard. You don't get to decide what is or isn't playing the game correctly. Marshalling for changes while you hold such an undeniable bias won't get people to listen or take you seriously, but it will get people to do the opposite. To compare playing the game within the confines of its rules as admin rights or game-allowed cheating is just, well, silly.

og MoM. og DS. og DH + DH v2. CoH. CoH v2. CoH v3 (we are on CoH v4 rn, the balanced version). old med kits. old BNPs. Old syringes. INSTABLIND FLASHLIGHTS. INFINITE LOOPS. TELEPALLETS. That annoying period before exhaustion was implemented. og self care. Almost all regression perks getting gutted recently. The gutting of ruin and PGTW. Infinite duration sabotages. The fact it took DH 6 MF YEARS JUST TO BE BALANCED.
You know how many broken, and I mean gamebreakingly unfair things killers have had in the past?
Original Nurse. Old old range addons for nurse. Recharge addons for nurse. basekit BT not existing for a while. The gen kick meta. Instamori myers. original spirit. Original iri heads. Eruption for like, 3 months. The 3 gen meta with knight and mid merchant. maybe og hag.
See hwo little that is in comparison. Notice, more importantly, that NONE OF THESE compare to the stuff survivors used to have. You could disable every hook PERMANENTLY. Loop one window PERMANENTLY and become unkillable.
I just- seriously? No really, how blind do you have to be to think this? The game historically has been incredibly survivor sided, only in recent years have we come CLOSE to a balanced game. "The killer has built in admin cheats" yeah yeah take it up with full repair BNPs and insta FULL HEAL SYRINGES. You cannot seriously come out here, say that killer is so op its like their cheating and it always has been, and be serious. When survivors used to have things that made them uncatchable, unkillable, instantly crank 4 gens, instantly heal someone from slugged to full, and some of the most broken BS perks in the game. Did you forget DS used to be a 4th hook state? that MoM could be abused for 5 hit chases? that you could literally remove every hook from the trial?
And you are seriously coming out to say its a KILLER SIDED GAME. Lets see what do killers have right now? Pain res (discourages tunneling), surge (only gets great value on M1 killers), deadlock (really stupid strong but no op), sloppy (doesnt work on top tiers or with many playstyles), no way out (has to be earned via not tunneling), noed (good survivors just remove it after the 30s), corrupt intervention (just helps get a strong early game going).
Meanwhile MFT is crushing low tier killers and gen speeds are out of control because theres almost no regression??? If you are seriously having actual problems escaping then its on you.

Ah, I see. So its you that decides the right way to play? For everyone? And I guess that entails never slugging never tunneling never camping never using 4 slowdown perks always giving the last guy hatch (its the right thing to do) and never playing nurse or blight because they are super op and unbeatable right? get over yourself.
What if I say that survivors should give me a pity kill every time they stomp me? Or that they should just be nice and gett off the gens so I can get some hooks in. So dumb.

Survivors don't need anything basekit.
In fact, they should remove the endurance on hook.
Constantly I see noob survivor use it to body block for their healthy buddies then complain about getting tunneled.
the same would happen with anti-slug perks.
When those would fail due to misplay survivors would cry for even more free stuff.
the current state of "Big maps filled to the brim with pallets" should be more then enough for them to make a play, survivors should lose sometimes too.

Exactly, if they cried so much about being tunnel; just make it so that the Survivors that just got off the hook simply lose collision with the killer all together instead of the Endurance status effect. That way, nothing is stopping them from being body block the killer while they chase someone else. It can last forever until they do any form of action thar warrents being free hit.. like doing a generator, Saving in front the killer after they hook someone, or even healing.

Man, just anything that isn't a free healthstate would be great.
I am sick and tired of literally being denied my actions completely as killer, they should make a tutorial for us in which they would teach new killers the "survivor rulebook for killers" and why they will lose all their games until they grind the best killer/perks.
y'know, we would have a crisis and no one would ever come to fill the role of killer ever from then on, but at least it would be honest and transparent.

Agreed... I do feel that the game is supposed to be mostly lean towards the killer being stronger then survivors in 1v1, but can sometimes struggle agaisnt 4 of them being efficient and able to communicate their actions throughout the match. In a way, it is currently balanced and both sides can bring anything broken and strong, so much so; that it makes the other side feel overwhelmed weak and useless that nothing can be done about it.
Genrushing suck, but so is Camping/tunneling.
Gen Regression/slowdown perks are too boring to go agaisnt; but so is Second Chances perks/gen rushing builds also.
OMG, Same Wesker, Nurse, Blight player; so lame; yet Trapper, Pig, And many other weak killers are so easily to bully.
Playing Cowshed or even Game sucks; because the amount of safe pallets and strong loops everywhere and very connecting with each other; yet maps like Leroys or even Midwitch can be so killer sided.
Dead by daylight as a whole is full of imbalance mechanics that one sides will always find a excuse and reason to exist being busted; but also refused to Knowledge that maybe... you also have broken and imbalance mechanic that makes their side also unfun to play against... too many Whatif-ism in these forums. Why can't both side just admit, they have a problem and just... proposal Changes to help make their side feel better without knowledge that the other side could also receive Buffs/nerfs when necessary.

Assymetrical games can be a nightmare to balance for devs, but it's also what makes them replayable and feel fresh with a pletora of playstyles to chose from.
What I dislike atm is the way the community complains in such a way that said diversity is almost survivor exclusive.
I honestly, unironically, not a troll post, but as killer I love to camp / tunnel.
It doesn't work on good survivors but those who let it get to their heads and insta-DC usually means smooth sailing and a fun match from there for ME.
As killer, in the CURRENT meta (even more so due to that awful event mechanics that give survivors FREE GOD PALLETS forever), 4 vs 1 feels completely miserable as killer...
But 3 vs 1... now that's a lot of fun!
You get to do chases and have, for the most part, peace of mind that gens won't fly in less than 2 mins.
So haters gonna hate, I know, but as someone who loves M1 killers that aren't top tier, I would appreciate if less agency was given to survivors on how killers play THEIR games. Survivors now have basekit endurance on everything to counter those "evil" playstyles they dislike so much... let's call it a day and move on from their silly rulebook for killers.
Killers deserve to have fun too, the current state of chases being so patheticly survivor biased rn... I'd rather not play that.

Game is already so easy for survivors. Never penalties for mistakes. Take a wrong turn? There's always a window. Want to use all 20 pallets? Go for it. Now you want a way to stand up? You guys are getting ridiculous. Then you'll still lose and want something else.

Agreed - If a survivor can run endless pallet to pallet, window to window, ability to block killers etc - then tunneling is a completely fair option for the ridiculously fast gens we have to deal with now.

It's also often the only way to get kill in due to how end game means survivors auto-win thanks to a free endurance from hook... they get to run the entire map to the gate and have their other healthy friends to the most brain dead "I block the killer with my body"
honestly, if you just "hug" the killer... you should get hit for FREE.

How I feel about how the game is that the game is at the most balanced it’s been but it’s the least fun
I just hate that instead of addressing issues the game has like map RNG ,how swfs work and overall look into other methods to help fix the problem instead the devs either 1. Throw a perk at the problem and if people still complain they just refer to the perk or 2. Gut all the fun perks both killers and survivors have granted did some perks on both sides needed a little tweak sure like DH and DS needed a little nerf but now I feel nobody is allowed to have fun anymore and a recent example is with MFT is it op? Maybe but it’s just gonna be another gutted perk and the cycle is just gonna continue it’s like this community wants more PTSs or BKs

Slugging is a perfeclty okay strategy, the same as tunneling.
if these deny the survivors a play, if those 2 strategy causes issue to them, its because they lose their chases within a time frame that either, does not allow them to either raise a downed partner or do gens.
no, survivors does not deserve any free perk for not lasting more than 10 seconds in a chase.
its a consequence of their own short coming if those strategies is a cause of concern.
to a certain extent, albeit lesser to be sure, its the same with campers, they now have a free endurance (an extra health state they abuse the crap of to get free escapes in end games now), they don't need more free stuff.

Pretty much true, any player with an ounce of multiplayer experience will dominate as a killer and only be challenged by skilled SWFs while bad killers will rely on tunneling/camping/slugging right out of the gate.
I have no idea why people still play survivor honestly, I used to do it for the rank rewards but it got more frustrating than fun most of the time so I gave up on it. As killer I only have to rely on myself and I decide the outcome of the game almost every time.

I completely agree with you. It shouldn't be possible in a game for one side to ruin the other's experience. Camping/tunneling/excessive slugging/gen rushing and overpowered premades need to go. Once these core issues have been dealt with, what remains needs to be balanced out so the game is "fair" for both sides and a win or loss actually comes down to skill and not just a busted map, being on comms or tunneling out the solo player just to make a match easy.
