I Think We Need More Transparency on How BHVR Tracks Stats
One thing I, and I think a lot of other people have noticed, is that BHVR tends to shoot down suggestions in favor of stats. For example, recently, Made for This. They said they didn't think it was overpowered and they have no plans for nerfing it in the future, yet I think its pretty agreed upon by the community that it is an overpowered perk. Another example: Trapper. Trapper is considered the weakest killer in the game, yet BHVR devs said that his kill rates are good and that they have no plans for changing him. Yet, they released an infographic on their twitter that literally showed Trapper has the lowest kill rate by far.
As to if these things actually need buffs/nerfs/whatever isn't the point of the post. I think we should be told how exactly BHVR is collecting the stats that informs their decisions. Because I don't think kill rate/survival rate of each individual person should be the sole factor for buffing or nerfing certain things. Like, taking Made for This again as an example. Yeah, people might die more using this perk, but what is the overall survival rate of ALL survivors in the match where Made for This was used? What is the overall gen completion? What is the average chase time of a survivor using Made for This? I think this is all extremely important information to consider, not just if the survival rate of the survivor using Made for This. I would love to know BHVR's statistic calculations.

I dunno about Made For This being an agreed upon OP perk, but you make a good point regardless of any opinions about perks or killers.
It'd be nice if we had an official stats page for everything so we can see perk/killer trends ourselves. I'd certainly think otherwise of Made For This if it was shown to be less effective than it feels in game.

There are two things I'd like to say here:
1: Made For This is not an agreed-on overpowered perk, it's deeply contested and up for debate right now. The opposing opinion can't be discounted out of hand, it is just as valid as an opinion.
2: They literally are changing Trapper, the AMA answer everyone is citing literally said they have a small killer update planned, why does this keep coming up like this
To the wider point, it'd be interesting to know what stats BHVR track, for sure, but I don't know that there's any compelling reason they must tell us. It'd satisfy idle curiosity but there's no real cause for suspicion that should be addressed by telling us, in my opinion.

I hear you. It's been a topic of conversation across our teams, but at the moment we do not have significant gameplay updates planned for Trapper. Partly because our data shows that his kill rate is pretty much where we want it to be (on average, even at high MMRs) but also because he holds a very important role as one of the simplest and easiest killers in the game. He's great for onboarding new Killers and we don't want that to change too much.
That said, we do have a small but very fun update in the works for our terrifying flagship killer! Those of you who watched the Anniversary broadcast may have seen the segment about the Naughty Bear Legendary skin coming for Trapper (which will have its own unique Mori). This will ship later in the year, along with a killer update.
That's exactly what they said about Trapper in the AMA. They don't have significant updates planned for Trapper so outside of the Naughty Bear Skin and Mori he's probably not going to get any better than he currently is as where he is what they seem to be shooting for in regards to him from the outset.

Yeah, and that says they have a "small but very fun" update, and that the Naughty Bear skin will ship "later in the year, along with a killer update". That's the answer where they say they have changes planned for Trapper.

I'm gonna reserve my judgment until I see what they actually do, but considering the entirety of their answer, my expectations are low that the change will make a substantial difference. I'm excited about the Naughty Bear stuff though, I always thought it was weird that BHVR never had Naughty Bear in this game outside of a charm and it's like their other most known and enjoyed IP.

The distinction isn't if it'll be a huge change that helps Trapper immensely, the point of contention is if they're changing him at all. People are saying the devs have stated there are no changes for Trapper because his stats are fine, even though the first part of that is wrong and the second part is misleading.
The Naughty Bear skin is pretty hype tho no disagreements there lol

They use stats to explain their decision, but then they also make strange changes like "nerf deathslinger because it is frustrating to play against" which has literally no data to back up.
Being extremely inconsistent like that wouldn't really seems good to me.

IDK why you think DS was nerfed without data. I personally know person that absolutely didn't want to play against him at all, because he considered him totally unfair BS.
And as far as I remember, he wasn't alone in his assessment. Even now there's are people (that actually play DS) that will tell you current version is absolutely better then the old one, because old DS was braindead easy (aim and click and collect hit) - making this change very good one (specifically Hens mentioned that on his stream - while playing slinger).
