Tunneling? Survivros games are hell to play.
So after the devs decided to nurf down self healing, Decisive Strike and Dead Hard, tunneling in the game has been overwhelming and we can not do anything about it. Almost in every game killers chose to tunnel (fast and easy way to win), game experince as a survivor is very bad and very boring. Specially if someone is playing in solo queue where there is no communication in the team and it is hard for teammates to protect each others.
In my opinion Decisive Strike should be changed back to stun the killer for 5 seconds and we should be able to use it in end game. And as a survivor you should be able to heal yourself at least more than once with a better medkit.
Me along with many friends have stopped playing as survivors, simply because game experience is bad. I hope the devs take this in consideration and actually do something that could boost up the game play and prevent tunneling.
Best regards from a sacrificed fellow surv <3

All I can say is there is a lot of people playing killer finding is very difficult an stressful as well.
It doesn't hurt to take a dbd break lots of people have done it. Sometimes the frustration from a few games makes us play worst an you then expect the worst a break coming back fresh can be a nice thing.
A lot of solo que frustration is team mates an I sadly i don't think anything the devs put in place is gonna make some solo que players more helpful.
All the best in future games :)

I have 7000 hours in dbd an have had panic attacks from stressful killer games an had to take breaks as it's become to much
I have tons of clips going against cheaters an being held hostage harassed an even stalked because i beat people in a game as killer So your in no position to tell me or anyone else what they do or don't find stressful.

And theres also no regression in the game either. If you remove most of the options a killer has to slow down a game, then tunneling becomes more desirable. Bit of an oversight there.

I have quite a good success with current pop and pain res. I don't personally think anything more is needed. It's very good change pop got +10% regression as it was quite bad with just 20% current regression.
Jolt is also good on a small map for killers that can use it.

Well,
Camping is worse, end game build is worse, stacking regression perks is worse, 3-gen is worse.
Only thing that got better with healing nerfs is hit&run, but not all killers can do it effectively.
Also fact that DS is trash, it's not surprising you see lot of tunneling.
There is simply no reason to hook other survivors, when someone gets on deadhook.
Camping and 3-gen are going to get nerfed more. So prepare for more tunneling.

I agree!

Jolt is currently broken, as it makes survivors scream when it triggers. I also seem some killers run Plaything with Hex: Pentimento. Which naturally slows down the game, as survivors can be forced to cleanse totems which means they're not doing gens.
Also maybe the game isn't into a regression meta any more. I see a lot more killers use perks like Corrupt Intervention, Deadman's Switch, Deadlock and Thrilling Treamors. Which in a solo survivor environment is not that easy to counter due to lack of co-ordination. Pain Resonance is still meta as well. It's just that regression isn't as big anymore, but slowdown perks are more prevalent than they were before.
Pop goes the Weasel also got buffed recently.

Correction, all these killers do is tunnel AND camp. Because they are bad at the game but get rewarded for what is basically is this game’s version of spawn trapping and killing.
And the developers know this is a problem…for years now. It is driving away new and old players.

You shouldn’t have to take breaks from games because it is unfun. Games should be fun. The fact that people can make your game unfun is a design flaw, which is completely on the developers. They shoud fix/balance their game. It’s not like thousands of people went before OP asking for change…

Yeah I agree the game shouldnt be about regression, I was trying to understand the recent spike in unfun play. Holding M1 the whole games no fun for anyone and neither is waiting for the bar to go down.

Games stop being fun the longer you play them. They are always at their most fun at the beginning and when you're learning and it still feels magical. After playing for a long time it's normal you get burned out. Most of the people posting "I don't play anymore" or "the game's not fun anymore" aren't people who just started playing. It's usually those who have at least a year of playing regularly.

It's probably hard to quantify fun. I would assume what people mean by saying they want fun and close games is the state of achieving flow/being in the zone. When the games aren't significantly harder than your level, but hard enough to challenge you and feel rewarding. SInce the matchmaking is bad, the game matches you rarely with people close or a bit above your level. So you can have games where the killer is a baby, although you have over 500+ hours as survivor and vice versa. Playing against a very experienced Blight with his strongest add-ons when you're still trying to learn how to loop against different killers' powers. The same for killers, one game they could be versing un-coordinated survivor, who might not be bad, but as they are not able to co-ordinate they cannot elevate their plays and next you can play vs very good solo survivors/full SWF that wants to win that are way above your skill level and preparation.

If only DBD has a balanced games in which killer don't always need to relie on slowdown/regression perks, nor needing to tunneling to win. The sad reality is, Survivors also relie on trading hooks/health states and just holding 450 seconds or less on gens with gen speed perks to succeed in escaping all together.
Medkit changes were made to make healing more common and slow enough ; to compensate for the pace of the game for killer. But even then, it is not always enough, experience Survivors that comfort Staying injured and spend every second not in chase to simply do gens as fast and efficiently as much as possible.
What the games needs is more basekit slowdown to gen speeds, or alternatively a 2nd main objective to make hooking more coming and less practical to needing to tunnel/camp every game.
Sure it will not stop toxic killers from doing what satisfy their blood killing ego; as they need to kill. But, if we can make less killers less pressure about time efficiently in gen defense and more into the chase and the hooks; only then.. can we balance the games for both sides.

For me personally, I still enjoy the game if the other side plays “fair”. As a survivor I do not want to see hard tunneling or camping until endgame. It sucks all the energy and fun out of a match. You should win based off skill, not a cheap mechanic that should have been removed from the game at its inception.

The game just needs to be balanced on both sides. It’s an asymmetrical game so full balance will never be achieved but they can do a whole lot better.

It's because you aren't prepared to playing against those strategies. I am not gonna say it's not boring, because anything that limits interaction with another person is (SM 3-genning, gen-rushing with toolboxes etc.), but another part you as well as me find it unfun is that to deal with it you need not only specific perks, but specific teammates and communication, the last of which is not available to the average solo survivor. If it was available, that part could be the fun one as people would strategize and co-ordinate to overcome the killer and that would generate interaction among the survivor.

I am a solo player, this is true. But even in a premade I do not find it fun. I always bring Resilience. In a premade you use that perk and slam generators. Not my idea of fun.

Resilience is a good perk during chases as well though.

The game is not balanced, right now it's pretty much killer sided. Killers can easily tunnel or go for injuring you cant even heal yourself anymore. Exhausting perks sucks and they keep nurfing the good ones. Anyway devs wont listen to us they will only listen to big streamers like Otz and he is killer main who always complaines about suvivor perks and how hard the game is as killer but in my opinnion it's skill issue at this point

Sorry, meant Reassurance 😂

I have to disagree with that statement; in some games; it very survivors sided. But without communication and if the killer is good at tunneling and camping; it lean towards their favor as soon as one survivors is eliminated, especially if the other 3 haven't done enough gens in that time frame. You seen those games in which 5 gens are still standing, and the killer was able yo identity the weak link in the group and take advantage of that; for a quick easy kill and secure smooth victory snowball because of it.
The devs do listen to both killers and survivors feedback; we all get a our fair share of buffs and nerfs that nobody ask for and we eventually get the ones that is done right, even if it took them months to even a full year or more to achieve it. The game is balanced, but it not exactly a fun state; as "fun" is subjective. And not all streamers like Otzdarvia can get the devs to listen to him or any other streamers; no one is killing our game this way... if anything, the devs' statistics is looking swell when it comes to fair balanced. I simply wished the Devs take alot more player feedback and do more transparency when giving feedback with their plans and updates more. (Plus, Otzdarvia isn't a killer main, and also plays equal amount of survivors and does alot of feedback to showcase the strengths and weaknesses; if anything he is good at breaking the game and showcase it)
All I can say is the game is becoming bit "competitive" when it not; and it was originally a fun game full of broken stuff and still is... just not nostalgia broken stuff anymore.
